Even though I am a retired fire captain I wish I could go back in time and hang-out with FDNYs command staff for 6 months or so, to learn from the best at dealing with major complex multiple alarm incidents. They are tops when it comes to managing command and control of major incidents!!! I have read books written by FDNYs retired chiefs and I thoroughly enjoyed reading their management style, but it is nothing like learning and experiencing by being indulged in the mix of the activities! Nice job FDNY!
Nice job using the street map and Google earth to identify the location and type of structure the FD are dealing with. It’s really helpful for viewers.
Again bravery in the finest.. Smoke.. Huge flames fuled by Chemicals in an old factory .. Fighters must be still having lung sting for days after this one...
I was going to say the same exact thing about Sat 5 but I was also wondering instead of smooth bore they had automatic/fog nozzle maybe the water issues could be the reason why they switched.
@@PghDon it sure was busy on the island I also wanted to it's rare to see satalite in operation not like the 80s and early 90s they were used quite often.

@@SkylerFire By the way Skyler, that was very interesting to hear the discussion regarding the water main size (8”) surrounding the fire location. great area to go on fire used to live there the dump i rented it had a gas leak building destroyed ha ha matt hope my old upstairs roaches where moved too lol could not happen to a better low class of people
Or because it was a surround and drowned. In us we do more interior attacks then over seas and we haven’t learned the benefits of high water pressure firefighting.
I could be wrong, but they need guys to cycle in and out of fighting. Air only lasts so long, gives guys a chance to swap bottles and on deck guys are either waiting their turn or waiting for an assignment.
If you have every been in the middle of a situation such as the one by which you are judging the professional video people who have been involved with knowing what they are doing and staying at a safe distance also. This is what they do. If you have every (which is doubtful) been in a position to get involved with fire and fire reporting on the way in which the people who bring us these professional services do every day. So don't worry about that they get to close in your estimation, too bring us who are apriecative for their actions and hard work.

Finally some Satellite action. Not often you see them in use.

Command staff above and beyond. 💕 Orderly, precise, and very well trained with nothing but direct calls in the midst of chaos.
Fires like this, shows you how important good command is. Even in a mess, it flows smoothly.
