This was a very well made video and you explained your choices in a good way while keeping it all entertaining to watch.
Awesome work.
You got yourself a new subscriber 😁
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! You can expect more videos like this every week!
Sumire is Joker Canon GF and that Sucks with the Add on dlc not being included for free
couldn't have asked for a better christmas gift! now to wait pleadingly for #1 on pc😢
The port is almost done according to the devs! Shouldn't be long now!
Oooohh Cassette Beasts that high up makes me excited! I really liked the game, had some issues with the choppiness on Switch but they seemed to have done a pretty good job at patching it out. Also FF16 is goood! I wished it has some more of the quirky stuff that FF is known for, instead of 100% going the game of thrones direction, but I loved the gameplay and characters, even had me wiping away a tear at the final scenes.
I Love Hi Fi Rush and Highly Recommend Alan Wake 2
I like your list. A variety of games
Ok this is genuinely the best GOTY list video I've seen, you do an absolutely amazing job going over each entry, teh reasoning for it being on the list, what you love about it, but you also highlight those qualities really well by including each game's shortcomings and what they do wrong, helping showcase just how amazing those good parts are. It really helps give the clear feeling of you loving each game more than the last, something I find a lot of these kinds of lists to fall flat on trying to convey. Amazing way to cap off the year, Astralkat, and I'm so excited for what comes next!
Where do you play most of your games (pc, console, handhelds?)
Depends on the game in all honesty
I am 99% content with this which is the most praise I ever give a top ten goty video so consider that a good thing ^^... But assuming I missed it in the intro or something, and I'm too lazy to wait to get to the good part which is the countdown, I have to ask- how the heck did TOTK not make it ANYWHERE on this list?!?!?!
I'm not a huge fan of Breath of the Wild or TOTK to be honest, but thats just my personal opinion, also I prefer to give spotlights to lesser known games like Dave the Diver or Sea of Stars, as opposed to the entire list just being the highest budget AAA games released in the year, its inauthentic to me to just follow the most popular opinions, but im very glad you enjoyed the video!
@@AstralKat while i think you should really give TOTK another go through, you have my respect for doing underrated or as i refer to them "under-talked" about games- games people don't talk about as often compared to the usual list of top 10s we hear in nearly EVERY channel on youtube, so its refreshing seeing some new stuff for a change ^^
Oh I completed TOTK twice, I still didnt really enjoy it, open world Zelda just isnt personally my thing
@@AstralKat well you must've had some fun with it if it convinced you to complete it freaking twice- there's so much stuff to i I only ever completed it once XD
It was fine enough I guess, there were just better games to me this year.
27:28 you should've played the switch version then you'd have plenty of criticism to give the game because the switch server was not only insanely laggy but would crash at least 3 times a day. As for the main game the characters talking to you at campsites was a pretty big down side (luckily they had the dog that doesn't talk to you) when you just wanted to get a quick heal just to have to spend 4 minutes stuck in random dialogue. All and all tho the game was quite good
Well the game was made for PC and the switch has less power than most phones now a days, so i don't blame the game for that, as for the characters talking to you I honestly loved it because it was an amazing way to give them extra characterization
Great video! Imo:
1. Baldur’s Gate 3- 10/10
is by far the best game of the year and its really not even remotely close. I assume you haven’t played it and I highly recommend it!
2. Lies of P- 8/10
3. Tears of The Kingdom- 8/10
4. Final Fantasy 16- 8/10
5. Phantom Liberty 8/10 (ok cheating I know, but to be fair this was the first time I ever played Cyberpunk and thought it was a perfect opportunity to dive in. )
I'm not personally a huge fan of D&D, as I said in segment #8, so no I haven't played BG3, and I probably never will. No offense to the game of course, it's just not my thing.
I did acknowledge how good the game was though being as it did win the community vote which you can see at the end of the video!
@@AstralKat Oh I totally get it. I’ve actually never been a fan of D&D myself. And while D&D has never been my thing I think the implementation of it is kinda cool. I had a steam gift card and I bought the game knowing that I probably wouldn’t like it, but it ended up being a top 10 game of all time for me. And after beating it, I still have no interest in playing actual D&D lol
I've heard its amazing from people who have played D&D, and my wife (who loves 4E D&D specifically, while BG3 is based on 5E which she hates) did some research on the game and it apparently fixes all the problems she has with 5E, so if she eventually gets the game I might try it on her account, but I don't think I'd get it for myself.
@@AstralKat yeah thats understandable and apologies if I came off condescending in my first comment I didn’t realize it and I didn’t mean for it to come out like “your games are bad, mine are better” lol
Nono, not at all haha. You're all good!
This is better than the actual GOTY, cocoon's bosses were unbearable vs. CB which instills a sense of intrigue on the first playthrough and excitement on the second, why i picked those is because I played both.
Cassette Beasts arguably has some of the best turn based RPG bosses I've seen in a long time!
Ignoring remakes and shitting on companies for their anti-consumer practices? Fuck yeah.
FF16 is the game of the generation for me. It has so many flaws, but the experience as a whole is unrivaled!
