I’ve said this before. Sammy should be knighted for his achievements in motorcycling and for his efforts in making the museum such an important part of the preservation of motorcycles.

What a fantastic, informative and straight-talking review of your ongoing work Sammy. I could watch this sort of stuff all day. I'd also give my eye teeth to have a similar workshop set-up! Hope to get down to visit your Museum soon. Take care for now.

I thoroughly recommend a visit to the Sammy Miller Museum. I've been twice, but I'm sure I'll be back again to 'lose myself' for a few hours in amongst such fantastic motorcycles.

The 7R was a fantastic bike, in my opinion better than the BSA. I remember that era well and earlier, Geoff Duke was my hero, I remember seeing him power sliding his bike through the corners. Glad that the Triumph is going to be running again, however I don't like their approach, making it look like new. Can't see anything wrong with that frame for instance, leave it alone. It's the patna of age that makes the bike, by all means recondition the engine, that's what would have been done in period.
    A really great video nevertheless.

I remember reading a report from a journalist who test rode a bike acknowledges as Hailwood's TT bike. Hailwood commented that he hated the bike, because the gudgeon pin had failed when he was close to winning the race. Had it not failed, Hailwood would have won all four classes in one year, a rather special feet.
The gudgeon pin was enlarged for that year (I think it went from 7/8" to 1"), and proved to be a weak point. It went back to the previous spec.....

Great design by Val. No crappy primary chain. I guess an all iron twin would get hot. Maybe that's why v twins were all the early twins?? Better cooling.
