I liked the opening "Gone in 60 seconds" song, but, and I know I will probably get hate for this, I actually like the remastered version better. This is still way better then that crummy remake though. Thanks for uploading, it was nice to finally watch it with the original soundtrack. They should re-re-release it on a double sided DVD, with remastered on one side, and original on the other, then everyone would be happy!
@Christopher Howell God yes. Sounds like a porno soundtrack. And all the sound effects in the remaster belong in a video game. Just awful. The original audio is flat, yes, but the 351 sounds like one, not a LeMans prototype. By the end of the chase, Eleanor is clearly not firing on all 8 cylinders, and you can HEAR it. The difference is night and day.
a little late in my comment. but thanks for the video man. i'm sitting here recovering from a motorcycle accident, enjoying this great segment of a great movie. the remake blows and cage aint no badass like Halicki. RIP my good man...
@Christopher Howell Phil Kachaturian has since passed. I don't know who currently holds the rights to his catalog, presumably his estate. I would love to see a proper restoration of this classic, but I fear that's unlikely while Denise is in control of the "Gone in 60" property. Fans can hope.
Wait. You mean i could have watched this with a seventies-sounding soundtrack?! And being able to hear the dialog?! I'm annoyed now. What a tragedy the remaster is.
@peterschoen7409 yes, the whole world of music licensing is a shitshow, these guys had clearance issues when they reissued the movie. The replacement music was really phoned-in.

I like the no music and just the sounds of the chase, there is alot that is missed with the remastered
