If they ever did do a Super Metroid remake, they’d not only need to give it the same feeling of gameplay as Metroid Dread, but they’d also need to create new areas to give players more to explore and give players new power-ups and bosses to find.
Personally, I believe that Super Metroid doesn’t need a remake. It has aged nearly perfectly. If anything, I think a remake would ruin part of the fun of the game. As someone who has beat the game multiple times, a lot of the replay ability comes from the sequence breaking and glitches like the Mach Ball.

Who said that you need to buy a game to play it? 1.5 million copies was sold for original SNES. These numbers didn't include, for example, Wii VC's sales.
You're wrong here. I wasn't one of the 1,5 million back in 1994, but still bought it some years ago and play it regularly. The numbers of back then say nothing, EVERYONE can discover and play that game since then and you can't say how many they are. But from how much praise it still gets online all the time and people telling they played it, it's played A LOT! It's had a pretty big reputation since almost 30 years, people often just play it out of curiosity alone already. There are way many gamers today also and way more people now that have discovered Metroid than there were in the mid 90s when there were only 3 games.
You know what I would like to see? If Nintendo made a 2.5 Platformer starring BOTH Super Mario & Donkey Kong, and have it play similar to Super Mario World & DKC but with extra mechanics.
The Metroid rumor has been updated.. there is no more Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remaster, but instead an HD remake (not just remaster) of the original Metroid Prime for the Switch
there was actually a Mario 4 for NES. In the early 90's my friend rented it from a mom and pop video shop that used to get foreign movies and video game titles in connecticut. I was around 10 or 11 at the time and he told me about it at school, I didn't believe him till I went over his house and saw it for myself. Baby mario and baby koopa were in the game and no I am not confusing it with yoshi's island, this was on the original NES system. After he brought it back to that video store I never saw or heard of the title again. But I'm tellin you, it existed.
Maybe it was a bootleg you came across? In general, Super Mario World is called Super Mario Bros 4: Super Mario World in Japan. Either that, you could consider New Super Mario Bros to be SMB4. There is no official SMB4 for the NES, though.
@@tidepoolclipper8657 possibly but this was the early 90's, not sure if there was bootleg stuff like this back then. I mean the title of this video is rumored titles. How would you explain Samus losing her powers between each installment? Between 1 and 2 and 3 there's zero explanation. She just doesn't have them lol.
@@tidepoolclipper8657 To an extent, the first Prime game was called that due to the final boss being the Metroid Prime, but subsequent entries utilized the prime moniker to denote the games that take place from a first person perspective. The story from the prime gains ties into Metroid 2 so I don't believe that the term gaiden (at least as far as I understand it) would apply.
Did you know, in the song, the Macarena is a word used to describe a woman who is attempting to get men to come and dance with her. If she likes their moves, the Macarena claims she's happy to take them home after the night out.
That IS an update...you never hear about games when they're only 2 years in development...and that's where Prime 4 is right now...well, 3 years soon. We MIGHT hear something at the next E3, but that's the earliest you can expect it.
The current Dk and Mario are on decent enough terms (though their mass produced toys do occasionally clash with each other). As for Cranky and Mario, they USED to hate each other. Mario at one point essentially laughed at the situation Cranky was in (meaning he was part of the audience that watched Cranky Kong) or used to be his abusive owner (either way, Mario clearly changed for the better later in his life). Cranky also potentially has some interest in Pauline, so he kidnapped her as a way to get back at Mario. In the second game, both Mario and Luigi locked him up, making both plumbers (or now one plumber and one former plumber as of Odyssey) actual villains in that game or at least anti-villains. DK3 hardly matter in the overall scheme of things, so that will be skipped. Mario and Cranky have their final confrontation in DK '94 and by the end, they finally forgive each other and move on.
Maybe too big of a project? They're just a small team and as great as the FAST games are, a proper F-Zero game would be a lot bigger in terms of pretty much everything.

I know Nintendo likes to push forward and do new stuff but Link's Awakening, Samus Returns, AdvNce Wars, and all of the Pokemon remakes have shown that they're not above remaking games. That being said, I'm shocked Ocarina of Time hasn't been remade. It will be eventually. They should Remake Pokemon Colosseum, Eternal Darkness, and Kid Icarus Uprising while they're at it. Instead of worrying about porting Mother 3 at this point, maybe just Remake the trilogy? N.Sane Trilogy style?
They already remade Ocarina of Time for the 3DS. They aren't going to remake Ocarina again so soon and if they changed the game up all that much, they may as well label it as a brand new installment.
It's not really as cut and dry as "This rumour was wrong" There are games that are developed, even finished as seen with goldeneye xbox 360 but never released
I think the rumors of a complete remake of the first metroid prime are probably true, if nintendo wanted prime trilogy on switch it wouldn't take this long. We know retro was working on something before prime 4 was given to them to make and it probably is a remake.
Not only do none of the main Metroid Prime games even need a remake (Prime Hunter on the other hand is a different story), it makes no sense to only give the first Prime an actual remake.
If they were to release Metroid prime trilogy on switch it would most likely be close to when they eventually release Metroid prime 4 to drum up interest
I get scared of rumors where it is true because what if Nintendo or whatever developer it is decides to scrap it because it was leaked so we never get it. I can really see that happening with Nintendo
Believe me if a company has already invested thousands of dollars into a product they predict will sell, there is no way they are scrapping it just because of a leak.

It's had a pretty big reputation since almost 30 years, people often just play it out of curiosity alone already. There are way many gamers today also and way more people now that have discovered Metroid than there were in the mid 90s when there were only 3 games.
@@Ray_2112 that still does not millions make.
You know what I would like to see? If Nintendo made a 2.5 Platformer starring BOTH Super Mario & Donkey Kong, and have it play similar to Super Mario World & DKC but with extra mechanics.
yes bro.
I'm a Mexican and I had this video on the background.

wasn't that Donkey kong game mentioned at the end shown in the Gigaleak?
Ad about playing with friends, me: how dare you assume that I have friends
everytime i hear the words "Mech Arena" on a youtube video my brain translate it to "macarena" and i can't unheard it
You folks should cover the history of retail game shops like Cex and grainger games
Since this video came out, Metroid Prime HD and Mario VS Donkey Kong HD came out for the Switch
We missed out on a new F-Zero!?
The Metroid rumor has been updated.. there is no more Metroid Prime Trilogy HD remaster, but instead an HD remake (not just remaster) of the original Metroid Prime for the Switch
can we start a rumor about star fox zero coming to switch? maybe then it will happen....
Leaky Pandy sounds like hot fan art someone has yet to draw
Anyone Remember Pokémon Plus and Minus. The games that were rumored to take place in the South Pacific and have a story focusing on old and new
No.
there was actually a Mario 4 for NES.
Ok, creepypasta
@@GoodlyPenguin what?
Maybe it was a bootleg you came across?
In general, Super Mario World is called Super Mario Bros 4: Super Mario World in Japan. Either that, you could consider New Super Mario Bros to be SMB4. There is no official SMB4 for the NES, though.
@@1ButtonDash There is literally no SMB4 for NES
@@tidepoolclipper8657 possibly but this was the early 90's, not sure if there was bootleg stuff like this back then. I mean the title of this video is rumored titles. This mighta been some developmental title that never had an official release and it somehow made it out and over here, but i'm tellin you I saw it with my own eyes.
I just hope that the Metroid prime trilogy hd rumours will come out true. Cause I really wanna play the Metroid games so badly. I am recently playing Metroid Dread and it is fun as hell. So please Nintendo don’t tease me with these rumours.
Technically, Nintendo isn’t the one doing the teasing with the rumours

Metroid Dread by Mercury Steam was defently real, I just played it.
Here's my pitch. Combine the 2d metroid games into 1 long game.
How would you explain Samus losing her powers between each installment?
Between 1 and 2 and 3 there's zero explanation. She just doesn't have them lol.
@@johnleonard9102 same way they do in each game... she trips on a rock.
Prime Trilogy Remastered has been ready for a while.
They're just waiting on Prime 4 to be on track so they can pick a sweet spot to build hype.
Metroid Prime isn't a "sub-series." The "Prime" in the title simply denotes the games that take place from a first person perspective.
I thought they were named after the entity itself? Not to mention they are considered gaiden stories, even if still canon.
EGM was my bible in the 90s, I used to get excited when I would read the rumors in the Quarterman section.
Especially the April issues.
Nintendo needs to port Samus returns to the switch.
This whole video - "It may be a rumor or it may be an upcoming title."
And 4 years later we never got an update on Metroid Prime 4. (Other than the restarted development at Retro Studios)
That IS an update...you never hear about games when they're only 2 years in development...and that's where Prime 4 is right now...well, 3 years soon. We MIGHT hear something at the next E3, but that's the earliest you can expect it.
So EA indirectly prevented a new F-Zero game from happening?! *Damn you, EA!!!*

Every time someone online says super metroid is perfect and doesn't need a remake, a puppy dies
Why do you keep killing puppies when someone says that?
I'd love to see a Mario game that explains why Mario and Donkey Kong hate each other.
Going by the donkey Kong arcade games its because Mario was a abusive animal tamer.
I wasn't looking at the screen and thought you were sponsored by the macarena
Why Nintendo doesn’t try and get shin’en multimedia to do a f-zero game I will never know
Maybe too big of a project? They're just a small team and as great as the FAST games are, a proper F-Zero game would be a lot bigger in terms of pretty much everything.
@@Ray_2112 how so? What makes a f-zero racing game so much bigger than a fast rmx game?… fast rmx looks amazing so handling an f-zero game with a similar art style shouldn’t be a problem
9:05 "as challenging as The Lagand of Zelda!"
I have never heard of such a game from Nintendo before...
Does OOT 3ds not count as a remake?
They already remade Ocarina of Time for the 3DS. They aren't going to remake Ocarina again so soon and if they changed the game up all that much, they may as well label it as a brand new installment.

It's not really as cut and dry as "This rumour was wrong"
There are games that are developed, even finished as seen with goldeneye xbox 360 but never released
Feels like Metroid Prime 4 should be on this last at this point
If they were to release Metroid prime trilogy on switch it would most likely be close to when they eventually release Metroid prime 4 to drum up interest
I get scared of rumors where it is true because what if Nintendo or whatever developer it is decides to scrap it because it was leaked so we never get it. I can really see that happening with Nintendo
Believe me if a company has already invested thousands of dollars into a product they predict will sell, there is no way they are scrapping it just because of a leak.
Mech Arena sounds way too much like macarena and i can't stop laughing at it, please send help
