Then all the beta stuff is so fascinating and I get the biggest urge to want them more than other games. I'm so glad the n64 has recently had a big boom with modding, the gigaleak, and iceberg stuff.
I'm interested in the time traveling caveman somehow becoming the tactician in a command and conquer style RTS. I mean, he would have had to go into a future where none of the people with ray guns, know about survival tactics such as covering yourself in mud so that they can't be detected by the evil robot's themo-vision or something. or an alien with shield tech that can only be bested by slow moving projectiles, like arrows, javelins, spear thrusting.... oh and you could probably have the caveman learn a thing or two, and incorporate it/them into his tactics? imagine a caveman with a rocket launcher firing towards a rock face which collapses onto enemy targets.
"Paper Mario may be one of the greatest RPGs on the 64"... What a bold statement. Let's not forget about the multitude of other big hitters on the system like... erm... let's see now... Quest 64 and... I think there was one more... maybe?

For the Diddy Kong Racing segment, I'd like to point out that Banjo's debut was actually Diddy Kong Racing, not Banjo-Kazooie like many people believe.
Mario turned green when he had the berserk status... Yes, it was definitely a nod towards Luigi. Can't think of any other famous characters that become green and powerful when they're angry. Luigi was clearly the only character they could have been making reference to.

Breath of fresh air for a video game add and not a Nord VPN add. Especially one that isn't a phone game.
15:22 The rabbit looking like a man in a suit. AFTON!
Dream becoming Banjo was the twist of the century.
Wait, Banjo and Conker debuted in Diddy Kong Racing. Does that really count as a cameo if it was their debut appearance?
If only Nintendo had bought Rare studios. Cause Microsoft hasn't done anything with them. Facts
It really is just such a shame.
Honestly, that's more on Rare than it is on Microsoft. A lot of talent left Rare in the early 2000s.
@@DoctorMinjinx At least some of the OG team is working on a new Perfect Dark.
Imagine making a ghost pokemon stage for Pokemon Snap back then. There were only 3 ghost pokemon.
I knew most of this but I never realised Taj came from the mammoth
“For some reason, power of rage made him turn green when he was berserk. The programmer who created was a Luigi fan”.
Not a Hulk fan at all then?
Another excellent research work.
I will always watch a fact video on my first console ever!!! Still have my jungle green N64 from 1999!!
..."Oh-carina"? Never heard it pronounced that way before haha! Great video as always though! 🙏
Are you new here? 😂
Isn't that how you pronounce it? He just went a bit heavy into the OH.
It's supposed to be pronounced "Ohcareener".
I'm glad I've seen previous videos with most of these tidbits.
Love these longer videos
18:52 I wonder about that... [looks at Diddy's hat in recent years]
I have never heard of Project Dream. The N64 had a major lack of RPGs and that sounds cool. It can't be worse than Quest 64.
I've heard Orcarina, but Ocarinar- thats a new one.
Imagine if Earthbound 64 was NEVER CANCELED?
It would’ve taken Paper Mario’s spot as the best RPG on the system.
It would have been released at the tail end of the system and be $200 cartridge only now and $1,000 CIB
These are interesting tidbits on what games got completely changed. Too bad Conker's not on the list
Since Mariokart 8 has Excitebike and F-Zero tracks remade for it, I have been hoping the next game would get a Diddy Kong Racing track remade for that game.
I'd love to see a sequel myself, shame Donkey Kong Racing on the GameCube was cancelled.
15:30 so That's how Banjo&Kazooie got made. that's kinda cool
Bomberman hero was so good man...love that soundtrack
Whenever I watch these videos I think “Alright let me watch 5 minutes or so and watch the rest later”.. Yeah I just end up watching the whole thing.
"Oak-a-reiner" of time 🤣 hearing you pronounce Ocarina, never gets old 🤣
Still playing my console just about everyday especially since I got an Everdrive baby. Always have loved the console there's just so much about it that's charming and comfy. Then all the beta stuff is so fascinating and I get the biggest urge to want them more than other games. I'm so glad the n64 has recently had a big boom with modding, the gigaleak, and iceberg stuff.
klob as a weapon is probably the worst accuracy even if your directly in front of an enemy.... so yeah, says a lot about that dedication.
‘N64’ = automatic click
I'm interested in the time traveling caveman somehow becoming the tactician in a command and conquer style RTS. I mean, he would have had to go into a future where none of the people with ray guns, know about survival tactics such as covering yourself in mud so that they can't be detected by the evil robot's themo-vision or something. or an alien with shield tech that can only be bested by slow moving projectiles, like arrows, javelins, spear thrusting....
oh and you could probably have the caveman learn a thing or two, and incorporate it/them into his tactics? imagine a caveman with a rocket launcher firing towards a rock face which collapses onto enemy targets.
nice to hear how banjo kazooie and diddy kong racing started out
"Paper Mario may be one of the greatest RPGs on the 64"... What a bold statement. Let's not forget about the multitude of other big hitters on the system like... erm... let's see now... Quest 64 and... I think there was one more... maybe?
i wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if it was revealed that goldeneye snes was fully completed but is just rotting away on a prototype cartridge in tim stamper's house.
Yup...pretty much every game Rare developed is amazing especially Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie
Banjo Threeie was tha bomb back then too
Damn, this makes me wanna play Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Super Mario RPG and N64 NSO
For some reason I though Dream became Dinosaur Planet and then Star Fox Adventures... 🤔
Thanks for talkin about bomberman hero!
8:39 Wow, so Bomberman 64 somehow messed up Bonk's fate outside of Japan, as well as in general (If you were to look at it in a glass-half-empty way). It all sounds to me like Bonk ended up passing the baton over to Shirobon, but the earlier point still stands.
Lamp Chronicle looks neat
I wish more videos were sponsored by games that actually looked fun to play instead of Pay-2-Win mobile cash grabs
For the Diddy Kong Racing segment, I'd like to point out that Banjo's debut was actually Diddy Kong Racing, not Banjo-Kazooie like many people believe.
5:33 to skip sponsor
Why?
@@GabePuratekuta I just don’t care sponsors. I just want to watch the video.
Great video
Sweet vid mates
Obviously the devs were going for a hulk reference when Mario turns green from the power of rage. What were they thinking with that Luigi comment?
"Ohkeriner of toime" - the bri'ish
1:29 Crack shot
the things nintendo and rare ltd. went through to put games on the n64 is amazing.
Thank you for the video~~~
Mario turned green when he had the berserk status... Yes, it was definitely a nod towards Luigi. Can't think of any other famous characters that become green and powerful when they're angry. Luigi was clearly the only character they could have been making reference to.
See? I keep telling everyone Luigi's not just the king of second bananas!
Rare was worried that wings coming out of a backpack didn't make sense? Banjo is a bipedal bear that wears shorts and a backpack, who is collecting puzzle pieces to try to stop an ugly green witch from stealing his sisters looks. But backpack wings was a stretch too far I guess lol

Your ad makes no sense I play games yet you explain a beloved game I've never heard of
