RIP you timeless, amazing, touching, beautiful genius. There are a lot of us who really "felt" you out here who are going to be running a bit more astray without you. Goodbye, Justin Townes Earle. I'm not ashamed to say that I love you.
He'll never get the credit he deserves for guitar pickin'... two-finger drop-thumb style. He did so much syncopation and that informed the melody on all his songs. Un-ironic his middle names is Townes.
Me and some old friends used to listen to this all the time. Drinking, drugging..they're mostly dead now. And now, so is he. I hope there is a decent afterlife for us and everything.. nostalgia is a sickening feeling. Damn, this makes me sick.. everybody gets out somehow, some way..I miss everyone. Good luck out there, whatever and whoever and wherever you are now.
@@misslindseyfrost Yeah i get ya. Havn't been able to stop listening to him since i heard. All us 'broken' folk seem to always spot one of our own. RIP JTE. Thanks for the memories brother.
I mourn your passing every single time I hear music, I mourn for the lyrics that didn't get written, for the songs that you didn't get to sing and the music of yours that we didn't get to hear...if the world isn't mourning your passing, it sure as hell should be. love peace and gentle stillness to your family, so still that when the wind barely rustles they'll know you're there. Tell Townes I said hey and give him my love and respect and save some for yourself...too, and pick it so it'll never heal....
This song, this young man, oh man oh man, he's got a certain way about him, a vulnerability, a raw depth, and intensity, that's absolutely compelling. Love his music as much as his dad's and namesake's too!
Still haven’t been to sleep since I heard about his death yesterday. I’m going to miss you Justin. Glad to have been able to meet you a few times, thanks for everything man. Rest In Peace.
Rest in peace Justin. What a tragic loss... Thank you for the beautiful songs and music you have left us. I hope you knew how truly talented and great you were...
Just discovered him I can feel his pain in his songs love him and his songs , but unfortunately with his life situations he was probably never gonna grow old so sad rip friend I can feel you🙏
Absolutely gorgeous. If you haven't seen JTE in person, you HAVE to. It's 1000x better than any recording made. His voice and timing are so beautiful they hurt. (People are seriously talking about headphones? Apparently they have done Justin no harm. LOL)
Beautiful sad sweet song. My son sent me the link to this. I'm 5000 miles away from him. The words brought me to the floor in a sobbing heap. Unfortunately it's too late for us.
it changes. Sometimes it's while we are here, sometimes it's after we're gone. Hearts are fickle things... stubborn. I will keep yall in my prayers. God bless!
And, in the end, don't all moms look the other way a little? Oh, my mom would beat me and discipline me as a kid, thank God! But, there were times... she'd look the other way and smile. Especially as an adult... Miss you ma'.
Mama, I'm hurting, in the worst way I got no money in my pocket, no place to stay And when I see you out in the streets Never know what to say Aw, but it doesn't matter, mama If you always look the other way Mama, I'm searching, every night and day, oh I'm looking for the means to pay, for all the wrong that I've done For the nights I've let you long awake Aw, but I'm always gonna owe you If you always look the other way I've been a fool, I know I'm trying to find a way to show you That you're the only one that The only one I'll ever want So I'm learning, learning to be a better man I'm not certain, but I think I can now Oh, but if I fall short, just know I've done all I can do to change But you're never gonna know this If you always look the other way Mama, you're never gonna notice If you always look the other way
well that middle and last name , you better be able to write. townes is the greatest songwriter period, Steve is up there but he was a student of. townes van Zandt . sucks he's gone. my burial plot is about 10 yards from his grave at the fam chapel.
@@paulaheffernan4757 well steve earle did say his son justin was part of steve earle and the dukes band still justin started using, and he said himself you cant trust anyone thats using, probably knows from his personal experience...
Son is much better than father. Many songs i like by Justin, none by Steve. Of course i don't like most country songs unless they have some pop and rock, alternative and indie rock is the best so i can't really be one to judge Steve but ... i hate his music. Actually most of the music today is rubbish. Thanks Justin for being the exception to that rule. Most of his songs demonstrate a raw vulnerability and loneliness of a son longing for his creepy dad.
It's the percussion of his guitar playing that really makes him stand out in my mind...his intense lyrics, and the soulful way he delivers them, he is a unique talent, he is fully authentic, with a soul that's as old as time.
well for that price i would recomend the Sony Mdr-xb700 though the 7506s are OK i guess ,i agreee with you they are commonly used but that doesnt make them studio good
Not his fault he’s dead. He didn’t have the greatest father figure at all. Married 7 times and major drug addict that cares more about people on death row then the drugs that killed his son. You think Steve would spend his life stopping heroin addicts instead he focused on convicted killers. Maybe if he focused on his son he wouldn’t be dead today

Year later, I still miss him every single day

A better song writer, guitar player, singer than his dad. In my humble opinion. I discovered his music late... still miss 'em.

There is an afterlife and God loves you. If you believe in Jesus Christ you'll be happy for eternity❤
I feel this deeply.

He always does the same thing with the guitar, and I'll never tire of it.
Love the way he beats up that guitar...and the passion in his voice and face....unique, genuine, authentically Justin Townes Earle.
rip brother. damn. been up all night.
One of the saddest tragedies in all of music and life. Still one of the greats.

Gone way too soon. You are truly missed. Was glad to experience you live at The Turf Club. Your music will live on.
Great song. Perfect performance. RIP, sir.
Never made a bad song. Hits right to the heart.

He was just an amazing guitar player as well as singer/songwriter… really original and so organic… a true musician’s musician !
RIP I wish i had known you before you passed away. Briliant song. Bless your soul.
Been lost since Sunday night....... I’m not gonna look the other way............ I will always carry you right here in my heart my brother

His lyrics hurt too, but in a beautifully knowing way...my gosh this kid has an old old soul.
Rest in peace, sweet Justin..

+Charles Ellison I suppose it's never too late, as long as we are both still living. It just feels like nothing will ever change.

+Charles Ellison Thank you. Your kindness has travelled all the way to Switzerland today. :-)
This song is incredible. Such a smooth voice.
That is such a beautiful song.
Oh my heart is sooo broken. We have lost another amazing talented singer/songwriter.
Rest now you beautiful soul
Rest in power friend…. A gifted soul taken from this world too soon
True talent, gone too soon. Made his dad proud...
And, in the end, don't all moms look the other way a little? Oh, my mom would beat me and discipline me as a kid, thank God! But, there were times... she'd look the other way and smile. Especially as an adult... Miss you ma'.
Did we all see it all and "Turn the other way" ? I am ripped up by his death, more alone in this desperate world.
And this boys and girls, is soul.
So much talent
Smooth as satin and hip like bell bottoms in the late 60's. Song win.
RIP one of my favorite musicians 💖
Gorgeous in every way.
Straight up talent! Old soul.
my most fave song!!
you sir gave me some chills awesome!
Mama, I'm hurting, in the worst way
I got no money in my pocket, no place to stay
And when I see you out in the streets
Never know what to say
Aw, but it doesn't matter, mama
If you always look the other way
Mama, I'm searching, every night and day, oh
I'm looking for the means to pay, for all the wrong that I've done
For the nights I've let you long awake
Aw, but I'm always gonna owe you
If you always look the other way
I've been a fool, I know
I'm trying to find a way to show you
That you're the only one that
The only one I'll ever want
So I'm learning, learning to be a better man
I'm not certain, but I think I can now
Oh, but if I fall short, just know
I've done all I can do to change
But you're never gonna know this
If you always look the other way
Mama, you're never gonna notice
If you always look the other way
Ah Justin.
Just a word: Hot.
😊Great!

I know what you are saying, but comparing JTE to satin bell bottoms is a cardinal sin as far as I'm concerned.

Who the fuck cares about headphones? I'm interested in the guitar, the fingers pickin' it, and the pipes of JTE.

yep, followed in his fathers footsteps, made a much quicker recovery though.
