Thank you for your videos. I purchased a WF360 and 250 red wigglers right before the quarantine for Covid19 started. I started them in totes until the 360 arrived! I counted them, when I moved them over to the 360, and stopped counting, when the number was 1000! Thanks to your and AV’s movies. At the moment I am trying to get the babies out of the tote with one half of a banana as bait. Anxious to harvest my first castings. Take care.
Wonderful update thanks for sharing it with us enjoyed watching your video thanks again and hope you have a wonderful weekend thanks again and take care my friend

Emily, I am new to gardening, 1st year, if I have learned nothing else it is that fertilizer/good soil is a key to success. So I am going to start worm farming this winter. You have made your own systems and have reviewed several. What is your personal favorite? Thank you, Bill-St Louis Mo
Love your updates. I found your channel a couple months ago when I finally decided to start keeping worms. I liked your shredded cardboard bedding so I bought the Amazon basics 8 sheet shredder and now have several huge trash bags of shredded cardboard for my worms, lol. It's amazing how fast they eat the shredded cardboard.
Anyone know what happen to this lady, I place an order on her website a month ago and send her few messages an she hasn’t respond to me. Order # 2642 .
@the crazy worm lady i figured out the issue with springtails overtaking my bins! the moisture level was too low, when i increased moisture the springtails disappeared, like they were eaten by the worms perhaps, and i have a population boom as well! Seems moisture needs to be up around 60-70% (sounds like wet noodles when fluffing it) and the majority of the bugs are gone, even fungus gnats seem to be unable to take hold as long as all food is well buried
Wonderful to have you back! Would "wax paper" (cooking use, hamburgers/deli sandwiches wrapped in, NOT with foil lining) be okay for the worm bin? Not sure how the wax coating would effect the worms.
Hello crazy worm lady happy belated Christmas QA I have a really soggy bin how do I go about addressing this problem I really appreciate all you've taught me have a blessed and safe 2021
I never thought of trying pizza boxes. I will probably cut them up. I am curious to see how the whole boxes do. Have you done that before? I might have to go back through the videos and look how it went.
Hi Emily. I have a question. Do you have any input on the idea of using only aged horse manure as bedding for a worm bin? Of course, one would have to add oyster shell, as well. And maybe some shredded cardboard.
Looks like the "neglect" worked. Worms and castings look great in all systems. Like the pizza theme. Comparing prices that Amazon basics shredder was fair priced. I'm still happy with mine.
Anyone know what happen to this lady, I place an order on her website a month ago and send her few messages an she hasn’t respond to me. Order # 2642 .

Emily hasn't been back here in a while. But maybe I can help. Do you mean vermicompost? I usually take off the lid and let it air dry and keep one corner of the bin moist so the worms migrate there. That way the vermicompost is easy to harvest. If you mean the wet materials you're adding, then I ring them out before adding to make sure they're not too wet OR I add dry bedding to compensate if the food I'm adding is too wet. Good luck.
hey just started following you how did this bin end up I have a bin with huge chucks of cardboard that wasn't done on purpose had a smaller bin and had a full piece on the bottom and the sides of the bin and then I had one in the middle to try to separate the casting over time and then I was having an issue with them trying to escape so I pored it all in to a big tote and ripped up the cardboard pieces and then a few days I checked on it and still trying to escape but then I smelled a mildew smell and I thought it was the cardboard being damp and big pieces and I just went and ripped it all up and it took for ever but seems to have stopped a lot of them trying to jump ship just wondering if this did good but I did over water the cardboard when I was doing it
I have a good little experiment for you to try. I recently did nothing but shredded up leaves for bedding and the worms are loving it all through the tub. No worm balls and it seems they are evenly through out vs when I was using newspaper. Try doing paper vs nothing but leaves. Thanks
Anyone know what happen to this lady, I place an order on her website a month ago and send her few messages an she hasn’t respond to me. Order # 2642 .
I would rip the pizza boxes in half and slide them down the sides of the vermibags and place the food scraps on the other cardboard or shredded bedding to maximize space.

I want to try vermicomposting again, but the worms sold around here are only really sold in fishing season and are marketed as "trout worms." I wonder of they're red wrigglers.
Don't quote me here, but i believe most the food had been frozen before hand. If you've never seen what happens to the meat of a apple when frozen then thawed, it would have been a nasty, squishy, mucusy, apple sauce in a apple skin lol
She mentions there was nothing wrong with the apples specifically but that they were mixed in with other fruit starting to turn. This is the leftovers from a hotel continental breakfast so she also wasn't sure how clean it was anymore. Lastly she mentions that her goal isn't getting the food to eat rather to feed the worms. ua-cam.com/video/6A3Kw3Nar50/v-deo.html
I've never had this problem but I've had ants in my fruit trees. You can either buy ant bait (which is sugar water and borax) or make your own. Make sure you get borax that doesn't have any other toxic ingredients (usually in the laundry section of the store) and put the bait station somewhere close to your worm bin, preferably near the ant trail/path. Ants love sugar and will find it. Eventually, it will kill them all. Word of caution, though. This may kill many insects including bees. If there are bees near the worm bin then I'd go for the store bought traps. Good luck.

Hi. I'm new to vermicomposting, and I have had my bin for about 4 weeks now. In that time, I have found 3 worms that have string-of-pearls. Is that rate something to worry about? I just removed all of the food I gave them this morning and turned the bedding. None of the other worms I could see have any issues - it's just three over the course of about the last 4 weeks, all spread out. I give them egg shells with every feed, but also a small handful of spent espresso coffee grounds. Do you think the coffee grounds could be the problem? I see you give yours coffee, but maybe it's the type... Please help?
Twig 55 adding too much fresh food could make the bin acidic, attractive to rodents and needs a lot of time and effort. In my experience here in a tropical country, i just add the proper combo. of carbon, food scraps, fine egg shells or a little amount of sand to a separate container then keep the moist and compost it for two months. -it's called pre-composting. Then you already have a ready mixed food combo for the worms. And make sure that you prepare onother ready mixed pre-compost for next coming months. -i always use this method because i experience rats living in my worm bin if you add fresh food after a long vacation. 😁And i've notice some rats eats the worms😕

How often do you normally feed with this whole food?
You may be in denial about your dining habits. Even your worms are lethargic. Lol, great video!
Why the bubble wrap? Guessing it holds in moisture and doesn't break down.
Would u make a bin with clay soil? Or native soil?? Plz
