    Just introduced my mom to my worm bin with the worms I got from you, (they are super happy) and I just watched this video with her! Maybe she’ll do one one day! I’m thinking of starting another!

    My worms love avocado and melons too. It is satisfying to see the reproduce in large numbers and make more bins.

    I knew it was coffee grounds, barista skills I guess lol.
    I found my first mating pair last week and freaked out for a second thinking I had a huge deformed worm. Thank goodness critical thinking kicked in before I did something stupid 😅

      Yes! It almost looks like string-of-pearls or protein poisoning. Kinda cool once you know what it is though, right?

    When I want to move worms fast I use avocado ( not skins) , banana , watermelon and cooked pumpkin or sweet potatoes...yes for 4 weeks I feed this and remove worm balls as they move into eat to where I want to transfer them. And sometimes I have to actually buy a couple of bananas and an avocado to use in the month . I dry out the rest of the bin( getting it siftable) and move them to dedicated feeling area. I try to arrange my casting removal to the times of year I use the most castings. Otherwise early spring and again for fall plantings including orchard bushes and trees.

      Thank you for this information. I'm not there yet since my worm bin is still young. But I'll definitely make note of it for when the time comes to harvest.

    It looks like you cover your bins with an old sheet. Does this keep the fruit flies away?

    I have a lot of coffee grounds I'm trying to use up. I finding its to wet or dry and even clumped together. I'm adding cardboard to them hopping they stay wetter longer.

    Have you tried and if so what is your opinion on two or three bin process where the worms crawl up to the next bin leaving all the castings below?

    will the worms eat the entire cob of corn? I have been taking the cob out after a week or so and throwing it into the compost outdoors.

    After a year I am trying to move my Blue worms into a new bin. They are spread all thru the castings...I have feed oat flour on top to lure them to the top, which has helped, but they are everywhere...even on the very bottom of the bin and it is a foot deep now with castings. I thought the worms always stayed in the top few inches. Mine are just everywhere...surface, yes, but also all through out the castings from top to bottom. Is this normal?

    Will they move faster, if you leave the castings uncovered? That way, it dries outquicker...

    Just a question for anyone out there: Do your worms prefer peat moss more than coco coir?

  • @derekfrost8991
    @derekfrost8991 5 років тому +2

    I understand your problem.. All of your worms migrated, but then Donald Trump told them to go back where they came from.. :)
