I will admit, I thought Bun E. was the King of the whole wide world for ages & didn't wanna accept anyone new anymore, since the original CT got back together in the late 80s.. but this particular show he fits like one of Buns old gloves. Well done young man!! I would like to believe that Brad was so much a part of the family they couldn't replace him with anyone other than blood.👍
A friend bought us In Color around that time. I did not understand what power pop was then. But I immediately took to that album. Also, they were the first concert without my mother, and the first show I was old enough to drive to. This was September 4, 1978 at Kiel Opera House in St. Louis. The show included UFO, Cheap Trick, and Savoy Brown. I've been going to Cheap Trick shows ever since--last year most recently. I'm 61 now. Time passes quickly. Robin still has his voice which is quite amazing.
Time sure does fly by my first Cheap Trick concert was in 1979 at the old international amphitheater in Chicago. They played three nights in July. I can’t even remember who the opening act was but Cheap Trick was awesome that’s cool that you got to see UFO with cheap trick UFO is one of my favorite bands. Also I seen them five times, unfortunately I didn’t get to see Michael Shanker with him.
@@darrensmith1194 He was added to help daddy with the vocals. But thats so cool. No fake backing tracks and they keep it in the family. Hear that other fake bands?
To see these guys continue to perform at their age is powerful to see. Just saw them 2-16-2024. A little funny to see them go back stage to hit the oxygen tanks once in a while.
I’m with you there. But if he did their shows would be way shorter as he himself admits he can’t play for more than 45 minutes at a time. So this is the next best thing.
Great video. Interesting how they have evolved over the years. Started off as a Midwest band, small clubs. Then Butokan (sp?) Big stadiums! Then I saw them at small clubs in Dallas in the mid eighties. Now back on top at stadiums again!😂
@@ourheartscondemnyou He was obviously struggling. Zanders kid was carrying alot of the guitar and even dads vocals. Good to see him helping out the family business. Saw them in 77, one of my top ten shows.
I hear you. There was a drunk guy behind me during RTZ’s set yelling for him to get off the stage because he was there just to see his dad’s band. Mind you the concert was free! Rude af.
Yes. Bun E. is the best. The band is weird without him. We once saw them in Rockford at an annual event. Two very old people were in attendance. This was maybe 20 years ago, maybe longer than that. The old couple turned out to be Bun E's parents. His mom jumped a row of chairs and hung out with us for the last half of the show. She was wonderful.
I saw just about every rock band ...late 70-90s from AC/DC to Zebra ... these guys are the top 5 best live performers. They dont play 'She's Tight' anymore?
They do. They’ve played it during the two other times I’ve seen them this year. One of the great things of having a large catalogue of great songs is that they can pick and choose.
Don't know them well. Haven't followed their career. [Googled] ... found out they put out albums with new material in 2016, 2017, and 2021. 😲 Holy Crap. Totally impressed. I need to see what they've been up to ... (as senior citizens, ... like me 😆)
We have to enjoy him while we still have him! But I’m also sure that a 20-something year old wearing all those clothes and changing all those guitars in 99 degree weather plus humidity would have struggled.
The brown haired boy is Tom’s son who is disabled. The blonde girl is Robin’s daughter and the rest are in Robin Taylor Zander’s band who opened the show.
Great band. Would be so much better if Robin's son wasn't ghost singing with him. Sounds like a toddler singing. Can't Robin do it on his own any more?
I’m sure that a 20-something year old wearing all those clothes and changing all those guitars in 99 degree weather plus humidity would have struggled.
Long time since I have seen Cheap Trick in concert or otherwise but I am disappointed. Better Retired with style then become what ya see here trying to "Recapture" what ever they had. Betcha the Geritol was flowing big time before this noise fest! Speaking about noise... Y'all need to clean up the audio part of this video!

Saw them open for Kiss July 27 1977 in Edmonton. Best concert I’ve ever been to.
Inviting those kids up for the last song was absolutely priceless. Theose kids will remember that moment for rest of their lives. So cool!

The Greatest Rock-n-Roll Band in the World. ez.
Rick, Tom and Robin are having fun. What a great band! "Need Your Love" is overwhelming!
One of the best songs of all time 💖
One of the greatest bands ever!
Cheap Trick is Amazing.. Saw them tonight here live in Tucson Arizona, what a great job they performed a great show !❤😎 at their age...Outstanding
It was a great show!
Can't wait to see this constantly creative (through the years) band again in May @ Detroit ❤. Thank you for posting this!
Wish they were coming to Pine Knob instead. I'd probably go. Maybe next year.
The clown prince of rock and roll. So nice I had to watch this twice. My all time favorite guitarist.
Saw them in late April in Tulsa. Just down the street in a small-ish theatre, what a treat!
Guys still kickin ass!!!
rick is doing pretty good for 75.

That's Robin's son. And the blonde at the end who ran out with a mic stand for Surrender is his daughter. Both named Robin as well.
Saw them in Ohio last Saturday....sounded great!
I was at that show at the Dragway 42

I wish they could get along for 30 minutes & have him guest onstage, similar to what The Stones did w/ Mick Taylor for their 50th anniversary!
I love these guys and Clearwater Florida I had a big surgery there..love ya guys Pennsylvania
Robin lives near Clearwater at Safety Harbor. I missed this concert. Live just north of Clearwater

We certainly don’t move the same after enough years. 😆
Exactly aging sucks

Well
Without Bun e you really aren't cheap trick rick
Who's the 3rd guitarist?
Robin’s son Robin Taylor Zander
Who were the people who came on stage while Surrender was being played? I wonder if they were people just randomly picked from the crowd to join in.
