Hey Blockhead, thanks for doing this UA-cam channel. You’ve got me into riding and it has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. It has been something to look forward to in some dark days. My son has Leukemia and watching videos has been something good. Keep up the good work.
Great review, I test ride one and bought it straight away the same colour as only one they had in stock. Wasn't sure of colour but really grown on me and adds to the retro feel. I'm only 5'6 but I had the forward controls and aftermarket mufflers fitted. Absolutely love the bike 👍
I have forward controls on my 19 street bob. It makes such a world of difference, the stock seat is even more comfortable once you change the angle of your legs.
For my first bike I've been trying to do my research on the harley softail street bob and this video helps me out more. So thank you! I've ridden in the past but not a street bike more of the off road (atv/dirt bike) but always wanted a bike. Hope it works out lol
J Gauchier It’s good for me. As a big guy, 5’10” 280 it fits me great. Has all the power I need but not enough to get in too much trouble. Obviously any bike can get you killed, but I plan on being a safe rider.
My son just got a used 2019 in Wicked Red Denim with low miles. The previous owner added Short Shots, Screamin' Eagle air cleaner with a tune and forward controls. The thing is a beast. Fun to ride and very nimble. My only complaint is the seat but he has a new Sundowner seat on order. He is 6'3" and with the apes and forward controls is very comfortable.
I was considering a Sportster 1200 Custom, but my dealer has just about talked me into a Street Bob. The more reviews I see on UA-cam, the more I like this bike. I'm going to set up a test ride and see what happens. This would be my first ride on a Harley.
Just bought the new street Bob, dealer told me not to worry bout the RPM's just don't run it in 6th, idk why, wants me to shift as much as possible. Live in Colorado so I've only been able to put a few miles on it but so far I'll tell ya it's alot more peppy then I thought it would be !!! Very nimble. I too said only thing wrong is the seat, I want two up seat and forward controls. I may change bars too, put low bars. So far I love it !!! First Harley. I'm hooked !!!
I just bought my first bike today and its almost identical to that one but black and rode it almost all day since I left the dealership and I absolutely love it
I've been rocking the 2018 Street Bob (exactly the same just in black) since june and I love it. It had some issues as a first production year but I can highly recommend it. You get the same frame and power plant as the more pricey bikes for an affordable price. You're gonna customize all of them eventually...
"More affordable" It's still at least a thousand if not two thousand too much. It's an average quality motorcycle with average quality components and materials.
That's so weird about the transmission. I test rode one and felt the total opposite. I couldn't feel at all when I shifted and had to keep checking to make sure what gear I was in.
Why overpay for a new Harley only to spend another $500 - $1000 on new exhaust? Buy used after someone else has already paid that tax and pay less. Or perhaps Harley should put better exhaust on their motorcycles.
Yep changed the seat and exhaust on mine, amongst other things 😝! Such a fun bike. I clubstyled mine. Still have the mids but have the Hi way bars for longer rides 👌👌👌🤘🤘🤘
Harley is not making forwards for the new street bobs. Not sure why, asked a tech at the plant in York and he said there are no plans to make any. But, what i was told is the forwards on the softail deluxe will work on the street bob. They list in the catalog for 569 plus labor.
L A yeah an Instagram buddy of mine just put Fat Bob forwards on his FXBB...another guy I know has just put forwards on his by buying all the bits separate (not as a kit) and it looks great! Cost a small fortune I was told. He has the foot boards on it with drag bars! Looks frickin awesome. He said I could give it a ride review, which I intend to do shortly. Although I think he just wants the chance to ride my Street Bob with the Stage 2 on it haha!
VapeLife Will I can't stand up very well when I use forward controls while riding over the occasional canyon.I just put forward pegs on and that takes care once I get out of the city.
Saw this at the dealership and immediately thought Harley was trying to cut corners with modularity of the softail. Those shock covers too...are they trying to make a bobber club style? Just didn’t really like the mix there
I got an iron 883 due to this channel, after about 2 months I'm ready for something new, or more power. I went and rode a 20 street Bob today, and only rode it for about 10 minutes before I went straight back, the seat was awful stock, I had zero confidence in rolling back, I just didn't feel secure in the stock seat. And the mid controls on that bike had me so stuffed up I wasn't comfortable. It's a shame cause I liked the power when I did get on it. But from my iron with a saddlemen and forwards, I'd ride mine all day over riding the street Bob in stock form for anything over 10 minutes.
I moved up from the street 750 to this beautiful bad ass bike on July 2nd. Love this thang! To me, I think this Bob is HEAVY af. I'm 5'7" 175lbs. I like this bike so much stock, I really dont want to change much. I haven't had to hit the breaks hard yet, which is great because this Bike has no ABS. I love how it will indicate what gear your in too. I love those mini apes too! I just cant say enough about this bike. Nothing negative yet. I'm still getting used to having more ccs and weight. I'm a new rider. This is my 2nd season in. I do plan on doing some mods like crash guards and frame sliders to start.
Only ever ridden my Dyna Street Bob from 2015. I have test ridden the new 2018 Street Bob Softail. The Dyna looks better, I think. Even so, the new Softail was more smooth out of the box. Like a stage 1 from the get-go. Suspension is better. No more jarring shocks that buck you off the seat. I couldn't scrape the peg, even though I tried. I could feel the wheel moving underneath my ass, which was odd but ok. Seat is more comfy. 3rd gear has torque. Ultimately a more smooth, refined machine. It's a better bike to be sure.
The factory seat looks cool but feels like you will come off it and uncomfortable. As you mentioned, change the seat, switch to forward controls then exhaust and you have a sweet little nimble ride.
I have a Dyna Street Bob and test rode the new one. I was very happy to get back on mine. I wasn’t a fan of it. I wouldn’t say I hated it. I just like the feeling and ergonomics of mine more. Also while they made the handling better the Dyna has more lean angle. The Dyna is 31 left 29 right but if you get an exhaust that doesn’t scrape it’s equal. That’s about the same as Harley’s new muscle cruiser
I rely like the street bob sat on one today id definatly change the bars and the seat . The seat is ugly as well as uncomfy. I really like the 48s and iron 1200 but they feel to small
You should really consider putting the the Stage 4 117 kit on your Low Rider S. It really wakes that bike up and you will definitely need a different seat so you don't go flying off the bike....and that ain't no joke.
Please buy used. There's no point in buying a 2019 since they are just like the 2018 and there is no point in buying new since you'll pay a more correct price.
I bought a 2018 Street Bob and I love it. Being a newer rider myself I found the bike to be great to really learn on and cruise around with. I have to say the ride is way better than the Iron 883 I had before it. Mine is all Black so the color you had wasn't there its just looks yellow to me. That is something I wouldn't go for myself. I seen your review on the 18, and was wondering did you notice any big difference between the years?
Couldn't see anything on the LCD display, is it better when you are actually looking at it with your own eyes on a sunny day? I like the Wicked Red Denim, minds me of wife's fav MAC lipstick.
I've got a '16 Street Bob and I also like it better than the Softail version, aesthetics-wise. I test rode the new model last fall and it felt kinda small and the seat was horrible. I'll probably do another test ride when there's an open demo ride day next time. I'd love to have a Dyna Street Bob but with the M8 engine, since I gotta say the rumble and shake gets old pretty fast... At first it was cool and awesome but now I find myself shifting gears to always get over 2500 rpm to minimise the shaking.
Yeah? Better suspension and chassis? I wouldn't hate that. I don't like how the price is still $2k too high. I mean it has a single front disc and house brand brakes and suspension with an engine that's under tuned and no standard ABS. At least the headlight is LED and the gages aren't no the tank which I hate.
HD doesn't make forwards for this bike yet.Mine is a 2018 and the salesman claimed they were in the catalog, Not!!! I found some highway pegs made by a company called rivco. They work good you just need to modify the oil cooler shroud. That factory seat is good for about 20 minutes after that its like sitting on the frame. The M8 motor is a beast and this bike handles really nice. Just needs bigger tank.
It is very cool Orlando Harley lets you take all these test rides to Mexico. Will they need their 5k service when you return? Not a fan of the "Honey Mustard" color. Will leave that to my chicken sandwiches. Thanks for doing these first for '19 test rides. Like everyone else, waiting with bated breath for the FXDR. Make sure you take that one up into the mountains of Mexico and really put it through it's paces.
My wife has to 2020 Street Bob - I fricken love it! So much fun to ride! And I actually LIKE the minimalist look or lack of gauges - I seriously don't care about MPH's or the tach that much, just my opinion.
would you say stay away from this bike if you are new to motorcycles or go for it? i was debating an iron 883 because of your channel. but most ive asked say its a bike you will grow out of fast. i dont want to spend money on a bike ill be bored of fast. this bike i really dig the look of. but being new to it. im trying to get as much info as i can on it. and make a solid choice.
rode a 2019 street Bob yesterday. wanted to love it but just couldn't. felt very metric in a way. rear brake was non existent. power was awesome. bought a 2017 dyna street Bob instead with only 357 miles!
From a Brit who's driven by your dealership on the i-4 many a time. Next time we are on holiday I think I will call in because I am seriously thinking of buying a Harley over here. Maybe I could have a test ride, fan of the 1200 iron. Good video as usual, also like the colour on this one.
I love the videos great work on them i have a Sportster 1200 i got 3 months ago i havent gotten license yet but when i do i hope i see you at a bike meet or something keep up the great videos
Harley should have the option of a bigger tank on this bike for longer rides, im a fan of the mid controls but then maybe that would be an option as well ,change the speedo to, does not suit the bike
An ideal concept of a mushy or numb shifter, the Harley 500 Street or standard 750 Street feel quite numb as compared to a normal Cer-clunk of a Harley or the smooth SH-Shink click of a sport bike, it moves but it doesn't provide any feedback aside from topping out the shifter claw to new gear, its a problem for new riders and experienced riders because it can create a "False Neutral" and that's just bad to have to deal with regardless of how skilled you are
The Street line of motorcycles could be the worst motorcycles on sale today at any price. The mirror fell off the Street Rod I teste road within the first 50 yards.
Love the color. Just picked up a 2019 Iron 883. Maybe the first in my town. Had a choice between rawhide denim or industrial gray. Did not like rawhide. LOVE the industrial gray. Would have gone for the gold denim if they had it
What's up Blockhead! Just thought I'd make a suggestion. I don't think anything has changed in the 2019 Softails except color options, so reviewing the Street Bob seems redundant. Maybe you could test out the Low Rider, Deluxe, and Slim since you didn't review them when the 2018s came out.
Just picked up a 19 and youre right.... the seat is shit... ( which for the asking price... why do i have to buy a new seat... dumb) And im 6'4... the mids are deff cramped... getting forwards installed next week. Put about 200 miles on it and its awesome so far.
Pretty much exactly like the Triumph bobber but Harley’s version, cool bike for sure needs the forwards as does my triumph bobber. Thanks for the review!
The Triumph is a much better motorcycle all around. It's lighter, has a lot more standard features and it's much cheaper. It's a much better motorcycle.
Hey Blockhead i like the price point on the street Bob and it's the lightest but only by a few pounds now with the new FXDR can't wait to see you do a test ride on that well assuming you going to of course any way mate nice VLOG but then they all ways are with you
I just bought a 2019 HD street 750. I love it. It's my first cruiser. It did not come with the remaining fuel or self cancel indicators. My previous bikes are; 06 katana 600 0-some r6. 07 ninja 650r.
Could you please talk about riding this bike from the stand point of someone who used to ride sport bikes. I am looking at cruisers to buy for the street use.
Thanks for all the reviews, just put ordered a 2019 Street Bob. My first Harley :)
Stephen Fleming congrats! Dont ever sell that first harley even if u get a bagger later on u will regret it
How do you like the bike . I’m thinking about getting one would be my first street bike . Other then dirt bikes
Hey Blockhead, thanks for doing this UA-cam channel. You’ve got me into riding and it has been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. It has been something to look forward to in some dark days. My son has Leukemia and watching videos has been something good. Keep up the good work.
Not a fan of the color.
Maybe I'm just weird, but I really like the colour. It goes really well with the black bars, exhaust etc...
I’ve yet to see a street bob look bad in any color
Great review, I test ride one and bought it straight away the same colour as only one they had in stock. Wasn't sure of colour but really grown on me and adds to the retro feel. I'm only 5'6 but I had the forward controls and aftermarket mufflers fitted. Absolutely love the bike 👍
I have forward controls on my 19 street bob. It makes such a world of difference, the stock seat is even more comfortable once you change the angle of your legs.
Love the color! I'm so over black bikes! Having a black bike doesn't make you an outlaw or cool. It just makes you like everybody else.
For my first bike I've been trying to do my research on the harley softail street bob and this video helps me out more. So thank you! I've ridden in the past but not a street bike more of the off road (atv/dirt bike) but always wanted a bike. Hope it works out lol
I like the color only cause of the beer cheese name.
I own a 2020 standard and first two things I did were forward controls and exhaust. I agree with you. Great bike great video. Thanks....
Just bought a used 2019 Street Bob with only 88 miles on it! It’s my first bike!
How is it as a first bike?
J Gauchier It’s good for me. As a big guy, 5’10” 280 it fits me great. Has all the power I need but not enough to get in too much trouble. Obviously any bike can get you killed, but I plan on being a safe rider.
does it have keyless ignition?
Lee Harris yes. I have a 2018 street bob and I think it is standard for the softail to have a key fob.
Mustard plug. I have one in vivid black. And have modified her a lot. Awesome bike. I highly recommend this bike
I put 16 in bars on mine. With the saddleman gtech seat, and bung king highway bar. To stretch out on the longer rides.
I was considering a Sportster 1200 Custom, but my dealer has just about talked me into a Street Bob. The more reviews I see on UA-cam, the more I like this bike. I'm going to set up a test ride and see what happens. This would be my first ride on a Harley.

Derek Jonez Oh no, your words hurt me. 🙈

They have to stay good ol California compliant... that's why we get the harley tax lol
one word. EPA
Derek Jones of arkansas
@@UnrulyRider Lucky Guys.
It's the same with any company. Just more commen among harley riders.
Yep changed the seat and exhaust on mine, amongst other things 😝! Such a fun bike. I clubstyled mine. Still have the mids but have the Hi way bars for longer rides 👌👌👌🤘🤘🤘
It's definitely Mustard, especially since Ketchup and Relish are parked behind it
I just rode a new street bob this morning I loved it but it needs forward controls bad
Just get some crash bars and a step up seat...worked for me! 👌
VapeLife Will shit sorry bro just seen who you are haha! Forgive me it’s 4:30am here 🤘
Harley is not making forwards for the new street bobs. Not sure why, asked a tech at the plant in York and he said there are no plans to make any. But, what i was told is the forwards on the softail deluxe will work on the street bob. They list in the catalog for 569 plus labor.

Can you do a 2019 soft tail slim test drive
The yellow is growing on me.
It's hideous
Dan Bailey maybe you should see a doctor?
my three favorite bikes by HD is Iron, Street bob and Fat bob
I love the naked bike too, I recently got into bikes when I visited the dealership with Uncle who has one.
The 2019 Street Bob Banana Slug! Great review, as always. Can't wait to see the other new Softail test rides, especially the FXDR!
I got an iron 883 due to this channel, after about 2 months I'm ready for something new, or more power.

When i first saw the color. The person that came to mind was John Maxwell. Maybe its just me hahah nice vid
Maybe I'm goofy, but I like the color a lil' bit😁.🇺🇸✌
The factory seat looks cool but feels like you will come off it and uncomfortable. As you mentioned, change the seat, switch to forward controls then exhaust and you have a sweet little nimble ride.
wow Mexico has a place like Orlando? wow who would of thought
Closed captioning thought the exhaust was music, and I mean, it’s not wrong
I think the street Bob would be a good size cause its not a very big bike and ride really good whitch i never rode one but would like to
Hahahaha the Honda grom description voice has me dying!
I have a Dyna Street Bob and test rode the new one. I was very happy to get back on mine. I wasn’t a fan of it. I wouldn’t say I hated it. I just like the feeling and ergonomics of mine more. I was so worried the 2020 street Bob I bought had too much engine noise or something was wrong but seems to sound exactly like this one
The color is fine its almost like a muster kind color
Also I love the small apes on it but needs a better seat in my opinion, and the breaks are amazing
I just got it in wicked red/ cherry color with engine guard (mustache style) and muffler added. I get it tommorow my first bike cant wait
Could of bought one of these last July but wasn’t really impressed with it so went with a 2013 blackline instead but it’s growing on me now.
I like the new speedometer, so clean, it's like there's no speedometer at all
I rely like the street bob sat on one today id definatly change the bars and the seat . The seat is ugly as well as uncomfy. I really like the 48s and iron 1200 but they feel to small
I go Saturday to get mine hope I do. Billerd Blue
I get mine tomorrow after work
Would you recommend it to new beginner riders?
You should really consider putting the the Stage 4 117 kit on your Low Rider S. It really wakes that bike up and you will definitely need a different seat so you don't go flying off the bike....and that ain't no joke.
Bladder infection yellow is no-go for me but other than that, I like it!!
Cool looking bike, 2 things I dislike are the full digital display and the bars, only really like lower bars, drag bars and such :)
Michael RedCrow really? I’ve never had a problem in direct sunlight on my display. But I’m 5’8”. Maybe I’m closer. Haha
I am going to buy a street bob 2019 next month, thinking of the grey denim color, what do you guys thing of that color?
Please buy used. There's no point in buying a 2019 since they are just like the 2018 and there is no point in buying new since you'll pay a more correct price.
I need a bike with taxes on it, most used bikes dont have that here in NL
I have a 18 streetbob.. and I've never had a issue with visibility
Being from Pittsburgh, I’d put some Black on that yellow! Black n’ yellow! Black n’ yellow! You know what it is!
I liked the color until the sun hit it. Of course, I didn't care for the olive pearl on the '07 MY bikes, but I dig it now.
That denim yellow is insane and I need it.
I love that bike man,but in denim red.thanks for the review
Couldn't see anything on the LCD display, is it better when you are actually looking at it with your own eyes on a sunny day? I like the Wicked Red Denim, minds me of wife's fav MAC lipstick.
think i still like the DYna Street Bob better

Thanks for showing the riding stance with a person and stating their height. It’s hard finding that.
Is the suspension on the street Bob nicer on rough roads than a Harley iron 1200? I thought the iron was a little harsh and not very plush.
I LOVE that color. Wow! It's gorgeous. Nice bike.
It is very cool Orlando Harley lets you take all these test rides to Mexico. Will they need their 5k service when you return? Not a fan of the "Honey Mustard" color. think I'm the last one who prefers the olive oil painting style. ...Greetings from Brazil!
Beer cheese. Patent that. I don’t recall seeing yellow outside of the Sporty line before.
My dream bike.. one day hopefully 💀❤💥
Looks love the gold tone really comes out in the sunlight...
rode a 2019 street Bob yesterday. wanted to love it but just couldn't. felt very metric in a way. rear brake was non existent. power was awesome. bought a 2017 dyna street Bob instead with only 357 miles!
Jason Agan so how’s the dyna so far? I’m going in tmrw to look at one man 🤙🏻
Looks identical to my 2018 streetbob... only thing that looks different is the color... mine is the two tone red
Went and sat on one at the local dealer today. Actually went to check out the 887. But once I got on that streetbob my mind was changed
Rode one yesterday.. nice bike but disagree with you on that shift, it was super soft.
I love the color! I just bought a 21 fxst. Great bike. I also giggle when i get on it.....lol
Just checked with my local Harley dealer. $400-$500 for the seat and $1250 for the forward controls. These are not cheap.
You can install that stuff yourself.
forward controlls cost 550€ incl 20%taxes in austria and anybody can do the change ;)
From a Brit who's driven by your dealership on the i-4 many a time. Next time we are on holiday I think I will call in because I am seriously thinking of buying a Harley over here. Maybe I could have a test ride, fan of the 1200 iron. Good video as usual, also like the colour on this one.
I like mid controls, Do you think a different seat like a saddleman step up would help the cramped leg situation?
Allegedly yes.
You need to give the seat 1000 miles, its gets better as it breaks in.
Is this a great bike for beginners?
That color would be noticed on the roads for real
Riding an '09 fat bob CVO. Metallic Yellow! So I like it.
Nice colour! Instead of feet forward, maybe a lower handlebar?
Right on BH nice Strollers you got there. Looks fast too those bobbing rollers. Thanks.
Love the color. Just picked up a 2019 Iron 883. Maybe the first in my town. Had a choice between rawhide denim or industrial gray. Did not like rawhide. LOVE the industrial gray. Would have gone for the gold denim if they had it
Why?! They've been the same for over a decade!!
Derek Jonez that’s the point
5 months later, how is the 883 treating you?
What's up Blockhead! Just thought I'd make a suggestion. I don't think anything has changed in the 2019 Softails except color options, so reviewing the Street Bob seems redundant. Maybe you could test out the Low Rider, Deluxe, and Slim since you didn't review them when the 2018s came out.
All on the list, awaiting arrival 😉
The primary cover is slimmer
Yes everyone seemed to just left out the slim. Only maybe 3 review and none for 2019 year.
Any idea if the 2018/2019/2020 street bobs have any noticeable differences?
Still love that color . Blacked out expect the gas tank would be sick imo 😬👌
Just picked up a 19 and youre right.... the seat is shit... ( which for the asking price... why do i have to buy a new seat... dumb) And im 6'4... the mids are deff cramped... getting forwards installed next week. Put about 200 miles on it and its awesome so far.
How are the forward controlls? Really keen on buying this bike im also 6’4.
I think that is my exact bike!
I bought mine there in October of 2018!
Crazy, blockhead rode my bike!
I love my Triumph and she is fast and nimble for sure!
Was between this and Sport Glide. Going with the Sport Glide
My previous bikes are;
06 katana 600
0-some r6.
07 ninja 650r.
I like how they just let you do your own thing around there.
Could you please talk about riding this bike from the stand point of someone who used to ride sport bikes. I am looking at cruisers to buy for the street use.
Just bought one in Black Friday morning
