They did. They should’ve threw in another 25k just for appreciation once they realized they have gotten hold to a steal but everyone is not that generous
We met Dan at his price. And not sure if you are a reseller or have an eBay store, but cards are not exactly jumping off the shelves. We’re still trying to sell cards form episode 1. So we’re pretty confident when we put a price out… there knowing the market is declining and the number of buyers is half what it was during Covid. As always, I appreciate you breaking down the price of what you think it's worth (based on completed sold prices, and with the market in mind), the margin's you're comfortable with, and what you think you can sell for. This transparency is informative for the viewer, and goes some way in building trust from the seller (and, therefore, expanding your network). Top stuff! I think you were very fair. Sure, the seller would've been able to get thousands more for his collection... if he was willing to spend the time to find the right buyer/s, and then mess around with potential returns and other headaches. There's also a chance that prices slump in the short-term (esp. with the market not looking great at the moment). This way, he elimates the risk, gets the cash, has zero stress, and can spend that time with his family doing the things they love. Win-win for both parties! I hope you'll do a recap of what eventually sold in due course, and (if willing to share) how much profit. Another great episode. Cheers Ty, and Chasing Cardboard team. 👍

Awesome collection in Kaufman Texas.I hate to say this but so sad l wasn't there to buy his collection. The wax is slowly disappearing from the hobby when the well of wax is gone that's it.Thanks for sharing !!
Keep in mind viewers, BBCE is that packs are sealed and not tampered with. In no way does it mean all packs in the box are original to that box. As in if you had 3 boxes with 12 packs left in each, one could add all 36 to let's say a 1986 Topps box then send to BBCE for authentication. It is only when BBCE witnesses all boxes opened from a sealed case that the wrapping sticker will state FASC. Those are always cost more. All non FASC boxes does not mean they were all put together from multiple boxes, many of them are the day they came out of the case but not able to get FASC label.
Exactly, BBCE is not respected by anyone after all of the mistakes they’ve made in the hobby. They don’t even check sealed cases to make sure it’s the correct product inside.
Sweet deal Ty..😮😍 Danny is a super nice guy with a great attitude about his card collection..😊 What a nice time you had aquiring the card's..🎉 Take care guys..👍💕🔥👊
Especially when he could have spent that money on a nicer house. He didn’t get all of that from that one collection and you know he bought a ton before the pandemic but still overpaid, especially on those Lukas that have come down in value so much. He’s selling because he has buyers remorse and wants to push it all out of his memory about because looking at it all is a daily reminder about all of the money he lost buying all of that.
I like Chasing Cardboard I remember he listed a bunch of stuff on eBay and we worked a pretty cool deal on a lot of low grade Elway cards I just wanted to grab for my collection. There were a few bumps in the road and one Elway oddball card that isn’t worth much at all but is just a card I liked because it commemorated his first Super Bowl win I think it was a Collectors Edge Super Bowl 32 champion card, not anything big but somehow it got lost in the shuffle; I did buy like well over 50 cards and all of them he gave me a better price on because I was buying bulk and much of them he had duplicates on and they would just sit probably but I appreciated him recognizing the fact that I was going to buy probably near 100 cards from him and told him just send em in penny sleeves and something around them that will protect them so he could save money on plastic holders I know that costs a bit to use and the shipping weight these days especially when you are buying a load of cards; and he did a very good job of it all and included a couple Chasing Cards stickers and a card or two that I did not buy but there were a few missing 2 were a mis listing it said it was a UK Topps Elway but it was the regular Topps US Elway, anyhow regardless I understood and am grateful to have bought them and I still look at all these Elway cards many still in penny sleeves and I’m still pleased to have bought them and I do think he is really good guy, and this is from a customer who knew nothing about him having a UA-cam channel I just wanted to give an honest account of a purchase I still am very glad I made and he really stayed into contact and sent me a couple cards promptly that accidentally were missed and aside from the one card he more than up for it in my mind and I appreciated doing business with him.

They aren’t respected anymore, they are the joke of the hobby after the Pokémon debacle. Also they don’t check anything, as long as you have the correct amount of packs and the original box they’ll seal it back up. Oh definitely. This collection. Was worth 3-4 times what he got. Just think of all the $100-$200 cards he flipped through in random boxes. And we didn’t even see 1% of the singles.
Watching these Videos always hits a feel. I really wish I could find who stole my father's WHOLE collection while he was sick with Cancer here I'm NJ. This guy is a genuine collector at heart. 💜
$53k for all those cards is a really good deal, cause just the PC cards and the Kareem PSA 7 is probably worth 20k. Also, the Bird/Magic RC box and all the other boxes are probably around $25-30k. Nice haul for you guys!!
that was a steal for 53. There were some really nice cards. But in the long haul his daughter probably would have ended up throwing them in a dumpster. I am sad for him though it must of hurt his heart getting rid of the collection it took him a lifetime to build.
wow at 28:00, he's a real negotiator. 53K good deal for both parties. Could have made more on his own... probably 15-20 percent but saved a whole lot of time and trouble. This is a year long sales event.
Another great episode. I would love to know what he had into the collection. It's obviously too hard to calculate when buying for years and years but it would be fascinating to know.
Wow! In 1969 I was 10, and on a class field trip at a AJ Bayless general store in Phoenix, AZ. I bought a pack on Basketball cards that had a Lew Alcinder RC just like that one. I sold it to a Card Shop in late 90's, or early 2000"s for like $75.
I opened box after box after box in the 80s. Being a little kid I don't know how anybody could save them without opening them. Unfortunately I bought most of the wax boxes during the period when they made millions of them. I have to say the Billy ripken card was my favorite

Man he lives right down the street from me. Would have love to met him and talk cards with him. Me and my son r just now getting back into cards. I think he had about 100k in stuff there
$200k+ easily. and the youtuber here u subscribed to fleeced him for $150k+ knowing full well what was in there and the amount of money he can make. I bet it's more like $300k+...u know dayum well they will milk every penny to get tip top value for everything sold
Oh definitely. This collection. Was worth 3-4 times what he got. Just think of all the $100-$200 cards he flipped through in random boxes. And we didn’t even see 1% of the singles.
Yeah they got his ass haha
Awesome show , incredible collection.
Great episode. Found the reflection too 😊
Yay, thank you!
Absolutely fleeced this guy, incredible collection and deal
We met him close to his offer.
Facts
that was amazing
Thank you so much!
Great collection and well taken care of. Great watch.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really really great video!!! Happy for both sides!!
Thanks for tuning in!
Awesome video!
Thanks for the visit
Watching these Videos always hits a feel. I really wish I could find who stole my father's WHOLE collection while he was sick with Cancer here I'm NJ. This guy is a genuine collector at heart. 💜
Dang sorry!
Looks like a ton of fun! I'll help you sort those cards for free lol
:-)
Crack those beckett slabs lol
Yes haha
$53k for all those cards is a really good deal, cause just the PC cards and the Kareem PSA 7 is probably worth 20k. Also, the Bird/Magic RC box and all the other boxes are probably around $25-30k. Nice haul for you guys!!
They got over $200,000 easy 💯💯💯💯🙄💲💲💲💲💲😂😂
Find the person to buy it is the problem ... for those numbers
How did I miss this one!!! So tasteful.
that was a steal for 53. There were some really nice cards. But in the long haul his daughter probably would have ended up throwing them in a dumpster. I am sad for him though it must of hurt his heart getting rid of the collection it took him a lifetime to build.
Awesome pickups
I saw a Gretzky rookie on the table, awesome!
wow at 28:00, he's a real negotiator. 53K good deal for both parties. Could have made more on his own... probably 15-20 percent but saved a whole lot of time and trouble. This is a year long sales event.
👍
What a show!
Appreciate it Matt!!
The 2017 bottom edge looks ruff. Thats my guess
Another great episode. I would love to know what he had into the collection. It's obviously too hard to calculate when buying for years and years but it would be fascinating to know.
He got a majority of the graded and vintage form another seller, and he got an incredible deal! Less than $500.
Wow! In 1969 I was 10, and on a class field trip at a AJ Bayless general store in Phoenix, AZ. I bought a pack on Basketball cards that had a Lew Alcinder RC just like that one. I sold it to a Card Shop in late 90's, or early 2000"s for like $75.
Enjoy the content its nice to see some content that can be considered family oriented without hidden agendas hidden in it.
Glad you enjoy it!
I opened box after box after box in the 80s. Being a little kid I don't know how anybody could save them without opening them. Unfortunately I bought most of the wax boxes during the period when they made millions of them. I have to say the Billy ripken card was my favorite
Same!
Fantastic episode! Great collection and a great deal on both ends. On a side note, I'm looking for Star brand Jordans, do you have any you're looking to move?
Star brand Jordan’s?
@@CHASINGCARDBOARD the 1985 Star Jordans #101, #195, #288, there are also subsets like gatorade, Crunch N munch, Miller lite. These are incredibly hot right now
Those 86 racks will get sent to BBCE and multiple X in value increase and same with 81 racks/packs etc. I have watched all these, clearly the best score for these guys to date.
Thanks so much for watching!
