Thank you guys for visiting our shop and highlighting our story. It was an honor having you and keep up the amazing work. You really are a bright light in our hobby.
The way Jalen handled himself after getting benched in the National Championship really impressed me. He stood out as a man of character. Then I learned about his leadership and work ethic and I was sold. Obviously talent is very important, but so much of a QBs success is determined by intangibles like leadership, work ethic and the talent surrounding him. Jalen had the “it factor” to me.
Cards paid for our Wedding, Honeymoon and down payment on our first home back in 2010. In 2021, I sold most of my triplicate and duplicate vintage sets and star cards to purchase a lake house and hundreds of acres of farm ground. I put tons of vintage cards away in the early 2000s just after I graduated college. It was a great time to be a collector!!
Matthew: Well done!!! Great to hear! 👍👍👍 No doubt this was justification to you for all those who said "stop spending your money on cards... it's junk!" (usually parents, maybe the wife, and perhaps mates ribbing you for 'collecting junk'). Satisfying moment, I'll bet!
Wow. This video brought me to tears. Brother Ty, the video of the curator and now this. It's beyond cards man. Thank you so much for these videos. I actually was weeping watching that little girl saying "momma." I have a sister with downsyndrome and is non-verbal and that really melted much heart to hear this little girl and see this family. Please continue to make videos like these. Ty, please let me know how I can support you. I'm praying for you brother and truly thank you for content like this. It truly illustrates that it's more than just cards. And to see the eternal weight of our lives. Praise God. Love you brother and truly hope to meet you someday.
Seeing his wife welcome their new daughter at airport was amazing.. i also come from a large family, im the oldest of 8. Im 34 now, my parents still have a few of my siblings at home in middle school/high school. Great story, great shop 👏🏻
You guys are the best. I love the genuine people you showcase every episode. How does this show not trend more. Did I hear Mike say he made the playoffs in 91. I graduated in 91. I can’t be older then Mike.
I can't stop binge watching this program. I learn something new each and every episode. Most importantly, I respect the way you treat the families and individuals that you are negotiating with. Awesome stuff!
@@CHASINGCARDBOARD It's pretty hard to pick just 1. I really enjoyed the Rollie Fingers episode and the episode where the seller had a crazy collection of sealed wax with case after case. I couldn't believe his restraint.
Another brilliant episode... well done, lads (Ty, Mike, Matt, and anyone else who's involved)! I like the way you don't assume that everyone knows the trading card lingo, and break it down for the masses. This will definitely appeal to all... not if, but WHEN, a station picks this great series up! 👍 Inspirational story by the card store owner, and he's got a wise head on his shoulders. It takes a special family to adopt a child. Kudos to such a wholesome family.
Brent is connected. Wise prospecting in football. The Lord has blessed him and his family immensely. Did you get any tips on the next big sports hero to collect?
Thank you Ken. God has blessed us beyond measure. And to answer your question, I think Brock Purdy has fallen into the perfect spot with the Niners and if he can stay healthy may see a huge rise in value. Just my humble opinion.
Great episode. Many of today's collectors should watch this. Card collecting with the right financial literacy can pay dividends. Too many people sacrifice their lives outside of cardboard just for a chase. They have the most beautiful cards, but a dysfunctional personal life outside of the hobby.
i had every single one of those becketts.. i remember that kirby pucket and jim abbot one like ti was yesterday.. i must have looked through those things 1000x's as a kid, riding bikes to the gas station to get the beckett and a pack of cards off the counter.
Love seeing you guys around my parts of Texas. Never been to Cardboard Heroes, pass by it on the way to the Conroe show (amazing show).. going to have to stop in now!
Cardboard Hero's is a great shop! I bought a Wade Boggs auto from them that I was trying to get for sometime at a very affordable price. Wonderful group of guys thanks for putting them on your show!
Awesome fellas. I did a little of the cardboard to life as well and bought my first house with card money and I hope to pay off our 2nd house with cards.
Ty after seeing it was a 1of1 and Brent said "you're giving it to your son right" oh totally!..."maybe I will actually hold onto this for myself" HAHAHA
This my new favorite channel!! I just recently ordered my 1st 2 hobby boxes.. 23' select basketball and 23' mosiac football. Is it better to sale a good card raw or graded?? I see a lot of those being sold raw. Wouldn't getting it graded be more valueable?
Glad your enjoying the channel! You question… you have to factor in the costs of grading and the shipping to and from. Sometimes getting a card graded to make to card explode in price, and lame times the costs of grading cost more than the card. Do your research and see if the card is desired and have good comps. Graded vs raw.
Awesome to see that what appears to be a really good dude had all those amazing cards and was able to be the one to profit off of them. Not to say anyone else shouldn’t but good to see.
Dang sucks that I missed you guys there. I from around those parts near Brenham Texas area. I’m also a collector as well. I enjoy watching y’all’s videos. Yooo y’all passed thru my little town. This is why I love collecting and selling sports cards.

This isn’t card related. But did you ever happen to play flag football with a Hmong team in Kansas named Aftermath? If not my bad mistaken you for someone else. But great quality!
Only 1 black premier level 1/1 and it’s this die cut. There aren’t any other premieres. There is one field level 1/1 and it looks totally different. Those are the only two black 1/1 Mahomes in the whole product hence the two black 1/1s Ty mentioned

Usually top rookies have a card within each level... So within Select, a RC will have a card within each tier. But in 2017, Mahomes only had a RC within 2 of the tiers.... meaning he only had two of the Black 1/1's instead of the normal 3.
this is how dumb current card bois are...here we have a QB who never won a superbowl (Jaylen hurts) selling for more than peyton manning's best rc NUTS but good on the person who sold it to the dummy
@BaseballCollector nice of you not to trash them on the internet. Still some potential to build a low grade set and resell. Availability of ANY cards in those years is an issue. Ideally you would hope at least to find cards with decent eye appeal though. Not always easy to spot creases right away either. I had an expensive and time consuming search building a nice set of 1979 Topps Baseball years back. Bought some PSA 8s and made sure all the others were as good or better. Forgot about investment return very early in the chase!!!
