Who’s still listening in 2024?? Timeless track. Amy and Nas had a special connection. True artists in every sense
Amy Winehouse is our generation Billy Holiday.
Just found this song like 30 minutes ago and have not stopped listening. So good
Virgo connection 💪🏾
2025 here
2025🔥🎯
I miss Amy Winehouse.. She is forever Classic.. And Nas is a legend..
Definitely! She had a different style of her own...🎭
Who cares if she did drugs..a lot of classic and legendary music artist did drugs. It dont discredit their work idiot.
@@Ari_Adventures Absolutely! Agreed! Mozart did, Jimi Hendrix did, Miles Davis did, Janis Joplin, and list goes on and on.. Whats that got to do with musical talent? Nothing.
@@Ari_Adventures I meant Janis Joplin.. But I guess you knew it. 😊
FACTS 🙌😝
1. Nas does not age
2. Nas always dresses so smooth
3. Nas probably makes a pretty good drink
True
Right lol
Nas is fine as hell lbvs. Anything he does is smooth :)
tenaciousjoe24 nas is everything
Nas is an alcoholic
You can tell Nas loved Amy. We did too. She had such an unique ol'school jazz voice. So talented. RIP baby.
How long are your arms to reach that far?
@@albeltra8 ?
Tbh they would had been perfect like bf and gf, she deserved the whole universe and the life gave her a piece of shit when she is a goddess 😞
I don't think they ever met they were supposed to but she passed away he made the song when she was already dead
@@aldogutierrez1097 No, they recorded this in person with each other. You can pull up pics of them together.
This track examplifies exactly why Nas will always be unpopular with the codeine syrup era hip hop fans, this is music for the emotionally and spiritually mature people.
Nas is unpopular?
@@BrittAnarVlogs with “codeine syrup era hip hop fans”
ok boomer
Kool words pal
Codeine syrup era started a lot longer ago that you think it did. Only came a few years after Nas in all truth
such a good song. everything just sounds perfect
Quadeca straight up.
Aint nothing usual bout this Respect for both legends! Keep spitting fire bro
Thank you, sir, gratefullee, I sing to this here beat..
Great to see the greatest youtube rapper respecting the greatest rapper

Yes baby, I'm tellin you. So very sad and true.
Absolutely love you Amy ❤️
Uhmmm. So true

RIP to my baby girl
If Amy Winehouse was still here she'd be one of the first people congratulating Nas on the grammy victory
Nasty deff fam she'd be smug bout it love you Amy Jade!
She always said doing a song with Nas, would be a dream come true. I'm glad her wish came true, RIP Amy Winehouse rest easy beautiful🔥💎👏👍😎
she already has a song with him. me and mr jones
cinthia correa Ha!
There’s another called “Smoke”
They have 2 together 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
@@latezwilliams1020 Well said👍😷😎
Amy Winehouse wrote the song Me and Mr Jones about Nas. They had a bond most don't know about but for me no surprise. Truly two Artist.
What's even crazier is that they share the same Birthday. Nas is 10 years older.
@@TheRockstarjoe13 Dayum.
And her first single in my bed sampled his beat of one of his classics
She didn’t know Nas then. She was a fan and they share the same birthday
She also wrote this hook about him which Nas didn't find out about until after the song was finished.
Nas makes Bar Tending look so dope.
he sure does tend to those bars
Matthew Alistair ....I see what you did there...well done sir,....well done
Nas makes everything look dope
Troy Richardson Lol
He makes anything look dope.
Nas is beyond an artist, but a genuine friend. Posthumously designing an entire aesthetic around Amy to remember her spirit.
thats why he is the GOAT
Nas & Amy had a real friendship. They met through Salaam Remi
Body's World Productions she was also good friends with Mos Def♥️

The fact this didn’t win a Grammy after being nominated twice... breaks my heart😔
Peace1dy Grammy doesn’t have taste.
Cardi won a Grammy and not this
Those awards dont mean shit, as long as we have people who love and respect the real, music like this will always endure.
Cynthia Romero says it all really. she is dirt compared to this (not to attack)
Yeah that was str8 bullshit
I can’t believe this song is over 10 years old now. Life is good is a classy Nas album. An underrated gem.
RIP AMY WINEHOUSE!
can't believe she died before she heard this track!
They recorded this track together years before her death it just wasn't released to the public until after her departure.
+Deanna Daniels no it wasn't, they recorded there parts separately. it was put it together after she died.
+Deanna Daniels my god. I often find myself tearing up when I hear this
for all we know, her vocals were tooken from a unheard track & they gave it to nas. i dont believe she recorded this with him
her death could have also been a psyop to get out the limelight. not all celeb deaths are real!! if she was "alive" u would have never heard her sing on a Nas song. cause she never did songs with rappers!! they took her vocals & gave them to him & created a beat around it. if we ever hear amys Vault im sure we will hear them vocals on another song
Nas should make more lounge rap. I don't even know if that's a thing. But the sophistication and relaxedness of this song reminds me of lounge music or some chill cafe background music. Such a great song, a career highlight for him in my opinion. Not many rappers releasing those 18 years after their first album.
And I mean, compare this song to the modern shit people are releasing these days. Neanderthal rappers as I like to call them. Future, Young Thug, Yung Lean and all other drug addicted idiots need to get away from the spotlight quick.
+swampthing94 Indeed...this is just a beautiful "old school" blend of hip-hop/soul/jazz masterpiece...no "lounge hip-hop" stupid label!...Sorry!...Gosh, In America people just have to label everything!...If people, specially there, stopped labelling music, the industry wouldn't be as lame as it is nowadays!...That being said, it's just a shame that Amy wasn't able to feature in this video in person, totally drug free and sober, with her "Frank" album prior image and body sillouette!...RIP...
M Sanne I admit I do like to label stuff a bit too much, but I'm not American. Not even close. I am from Finland :D
real talk just in my castle summer time life is blessed. perfect music lounge music proper
swampthing94 You mean 22 years?
Whenever Amy says "Where is he?" I always mourn and ask, "what about you Amy?"
Respect to these legends.
Her voice was gold
The beat. The hook. His flow. The lyrics
Love this song. One of his best
Always felt that if Biggie, 2pac etc were alive, this is how they would have sounded like in this generation. Just mature, and living the good life.
damn straight bro
i like bow he mentioned biggie on this song and on others too on the album they prob wouldve been great friends today
Dad Rap
Love this track came across it recently, should have heard it before. however a great lovely feeling, love hip hop beats that are funky, smoothe, raw just had it and a killer bass.. love Any,such a shame,ANY time I hear her voice on certain songs mostly all of them, my stomach sinks, cause I think gone to soon..well thank God we had the pleasure of hearing her songs and style of singing, seriously lacking in today's MUSIC.. I miss proper hip hop mainstream and the uplifting variety of artists we used to have...
no way pac would be mature. Lol
this song is so underrated
Totally agree!!!!
Somehow this didn't become a monster radio hit.
The industry doesn't want to promote quality music
Maybe because it was too positive. Ah. wait that doesn't sell much... More raps about bitches & hoes, not sisters & Queens!!
Benjamin Hubble my first time learning it I love it
Nas is currently the best rapper of all time that's alive right now period
Except Rakim is alive
+Henry Fessant Rakim is no doubt and all time great but he's not better than Nas
listen to Infinite. it's perfect
Big L was a better freestyler
Infinite is a knockoff version of Illmatic. Eminem bit Nas on that album, period.
Oh Amy, if only you knew how valuable and irreplaceable your voice was. Rest in Power ma' lady.
I'm saying!!!!
I think she wanted to be loved by more than just her voice though.
Facts!! I miss her so much🙏🏾💙
I never paid much attention to Amy Winehouse. But when she died I started listening to her and Its just been a huge tragic loss. Theres not much talent like her in the music industry she was just pure and when you combine that with the purity with Nas you get tracks like this.Nas went crazy on this, wish they made more songs together, two distinctive voices... they're good together.
Totally agree. I never paid much attention to her either but have recently started listening to her tracks (after watching the Amy documentary). She had such a soulful voice and wrote her own lyrics. Another Billy holiday. Sometimes such talent only come from troubled souls. May she R.I.P
Maluma Vevo: Good for you! This is what true talent is...that's why Nas is reveared and why Amy was so reveared in the industry...it's rare nowadays this level bar...and you too can make the difference...I've listened to your last album and watched you at the "latino grammys" and enjoyed...I think you're in the right direction...just go deeper in lyrics, in Colombia's traditional sounds and focus in melody and song structure!...Adding a "passión" twist and it can't be wrong!...Me ecantó tu musica!...Por iso, hay que continuar trabajando hombre!...Felicidades y saludos de Portugal!...
Listen to "Like Smoke", Amy & Nas. You'll like it

Nas is the only 'gentleman' rapper out there
Look up any other Nas video, he's far from a "gentleman" rapper. If you think gentleman means civil and conscious rap, I can think of many: Common, The Roots, KRS-1.
lopale505
He isn't far from being a gentleman. Look at his latest album. Listen to daughters, bye baby. For all those people you mentioned, Nas is their favorite rapper. Listen to his untitled album and more importantly know what your talking about.
09robinsona
Daughters is about his daughter growing up and Bye Baby is about his divorce...? This makes him a gentlemen to you? Lyrical and conscious doesn't not mean someone is a gentleman...
Nas is those rappers favorite rappers? I don't think so, except Common.
NaS is a idol and an icon to many a rapper.
But, because he raps ghetto, doesn't make him NOT a gentleman.
You can get the image of how nas is like ;) when you watch that interview he did at a highschool/university.
Common used to straight up pimp ladies, that on the other hand isn't quite being a gentleman like he raps in The Light...
just sayin'
He's not the only "gentelman" rapper out there. There are many who show their respect for wemen, like Krs-one, Immortal Technique, Kendrick and others...
Amy whine house has that soul sista in her voice ., all day. Every day.
Nas: lyrical Jesus

PEOPLE DONT APPRECIATE THIS ALBUM ENOUGH! SHOULD HAVE WON A GRAMMY
Nas serving Drinks.... In a sophisticated club... No flashy jewels... No Dudes with they shirt off and dirty dreads, Just a grown and sexy straight classy atmosphere with a Ill message... The Sexy lady is representing hip hop....
The message is clear..... This video is classy and tastefully done.

This made me smile. So true
Should've won a grammy
Think he really gives s fuck about a goddamm Grammy?
this, in a Jason Statham voice over =))
+kyle your so damn right about that!!! unfortunately real strenght in texture isnt recconized as in the early days we gotta bring back the real to the front u kno these bastards put real stars in the back of the room and that just dont fit right with the kings thats keeping hiphop alive WE gotta change that all togather and not only give real rappers a booth to kick it no we need to giv um the whole stage the at sold out concerts but then only to the real noledge seekers. peace everybody ! One Love stay purple
Yeah, SHOULD HAVE won a grammy. But sadly, kids who are under 26 year olds will never know who this legend is. Today's kids, they prefer guys like Drake, Kid Ink, Ty Dolla Sign and the likes over this legend.
+mancunian4life86 the majority yes but i was born in 96 and all I listen is 90s and late 80s hiphop I'm sorry I just can't appreciate the shit we hear today
Amy sang her heart out in this one. She left it all. She poured her everything into this song. It's beautiful how Nas and Amy share a birthday. It was a beautiful connection. Amazing how the universe works
The Glazing crazy💀
She didn't get out of first gear
Arguably the greatest singer of all time and greatest rapper of all time on a song together? Needs more love
so sad tht she died after only doing her vocals ... she never got to hear the final version of this beautiful song....
Damn shame. I could see her as the bar singer in this video. Damn shame.
Divine Prodigy fr... I would love to hear this song live
@@solitary2 How could she? She refused to go to rehab.
I know right
That's sad...........
Nas is a living legend. The only other living rapper with just as much jazz-seeming lyrical potency is Common. Amy could have walked right into the 60s and fit right in...musically she certainty didn't belong in our tasteless generation. So thankful for jamming to her in Fulham before cameras got outa hand. R.I.P Amy
mos def??
Too true.
there are a lot of living legends. just non that get the recognition they deserve.
well said, well said.
what about Kendrick?
Such a dope song, really loved the album. R.I.P Amy also here in 2024
Nas is undoubtedly the most underrated rapper of our time, people don't give him the time of day for some stupid reason. My music playlist wouldn't survive without 10+ Nas songs.
Um
+Chris Demosthenous I love the shit out of Nas, but he is not underrated. I have yet to find a GOAT discussion where he isn't brought up.
He's definitely underrated in today's terms of what is good and what is not. Almost 3 quarters of people under 19 don't even know who he is. That's what I meant by underrated, he certainly isn't underrated in talent.
Chris Demosthenous I think ***** made a good point. He is one of the few relevant 90s rappers. How many 90s rappers still drop Billboard #1 albums? Nas, Hov, and Eminem. Sure, he isn't as popular as a garbage rapper like Drake or Wayne, but he, unlike almost every 90s rapper, has found a way to remain relevant.
Naw Nas is THE GOAT
Why do people think that Nas is underrated, it's well known that Nas is one of the greatest rappers to ever do it, he's definitely in my top 3.
lyrically he is the best him and biggie and ice cube
He's underrated because people be listening to drake and all those other bad rappers but not nas
+dj Dope Jay , Big and Nas are always in my top 3 regardless. Lyrically I could argue Jay, Nas or Big are the best
Haks Hustle the only underrated rapper I can name is common
He's been known since the 90's for his album illmatic
came here for Skam, stayed for Nas and will always come back for Amy
Beto McKnight ikr skam brought me here

My boy Nas finally pulled in that Grammy! Kings disease 2021! Long overdue.
Happy birthday Nas and Amy!
Such a fantastic groove. I only heard it a week ago and I was entranced immediately. Amy Winehouse's vocals are haunting behind that smooth groove and Nas nails it with his positive rap. What I like most about this video is the way they've projected Amy on to the wall. She comes across like a legend - an untouchable, if sad, spirit presence. For some reason, while this track is amazing, when the vocals first kick in a feeling of sadness washes over me. Maybe it's the way Amy sings it, or perhaps the lyrical content of her piece which suggests she can't find her perfect man. RIP Amy. A true tragic talent.
I thought the same thing. The music has air of happiness and sadness...
Amy wrote this song for Nas before she died so you can feel the connection between the 2 of them on this track.
I agree. She was a rarity she sung with soul and it was the way she sung this. You can feel a bit of sadness INSTANTLY

This ain't lounge rap. This is Nas on the sophisticated tip. But these crumb snatching rap fans who like Young Thug,Tyga, and Future wouldn't understand this type of Hip Hop. The whole jazz / hip hop movement with Guru,Tribe Called Quest, and Digable Planets had this vibe.

Respect to Nas to collabing - my ex-neighbour in Camden RIP - beautiful collaboration timeless
They made this after amy passed and Nas talked in an interview about how they had to use pre recorded scenes and voiceovers to fill Amy's parts and when he was asked about the album he had visible pain in his voice and said how he wished she was still there so they could finish it. It breaks my heart.
