Watching Thab jump at a Pokey 30 times in a row is just how I want to start my day really.
I really like those "hidden in plain sight" speedrun levels, it's like they rely on your familiarity of standard speedrun tropes to blind you to alternate ways of completing them. Not what you want to encounter in endless but a more fun run-ender than some of the other options.

22:26 Hidden 1up above the green pipe at 23:26. Hidden blocks between yellow pipe and flag pole (not a soft lock!) at 26:57. Kinda cryptic (the level title hinted it - "Blocking Out the Sun") but fair level.

35:12 Nothing hidden, fair level.
36:17 2 hidden blocks preventing cheesing at 39:09 between mushroom platforms. Level is missleading the player to think it's a normal speedrun, Thab figured out the correct route in the end. Not a fair level.
Big thanks for Thab&&Craw for including level code at the beginning of the levels and clear time at the end!
Note: I don't judge if level is hard or well made. I simply check if creator added or used something not necessarily hidden that was meant to make the level easier for him or harder for the player. This is the only factor I check when rating if level is fair or not.

Agreed. It's a shame the "find the shortcuts" speedrun genre never clicked in English MM2 but it's super common in Japanese. I will say the author should have included a reference in the title and not just in the description.

Great run, super fun to watch especially after the first couple of levels being so terrible, looked to be a short run day, but then the power of the taco hat took over.
Thanks for this exculsive series. I think the exclusive runs are going further, because of missing distraction from chat. However in the last level there would be people that are pointing at the bomb thing after some tries. I shouted it multiple times to my mobile phone, but you did not hear me. 😀

For the first level, pokeys speed up in their walking cycle if you wait long enough, meaning they turn around closer to the edges of the block. That might have to do with it?

It’s literally using a bug. He should have gone further and reported it.
Building off screen is not "'literally a bug". It's "literally a game mechanic". Nintendo featured this mechanic in a video before. @@xatuyou8045

I feel like 30 lives is not enough for the average player the lives could be all spent on one level and then get frustrated with the game and give up on it which is not fair because there are so many fun levels in super expert but not so much lives Nintendo really messed this up

That last level just makes me mad. Stuff like that is far worse than troll levels, in my opinion. If you weren’t as talented as Thab, you could spend hours grinding it only to find out that the normal route is impossible. If you’re going to put a secret route in, there should be at least some sort of hint involved.
