The three routes are good value at £32 but for console gamers it just feels like a tweaked TSW3 and not a new game. The only thing I'm really miffed about is that there seems to be ZERO performance improvements (draw distances, framerates etc etc) so that does dampen the enthusiasm a little. Oh, and what about DLC's that were announced (but remain unreleased) for TSW3? Does this mean they're now stuck behind a TSW4 paywall?

Some of these features should have been in the original version, certainly in one of the three previous versions. The sooner they get some competition from another producer the sooner they might try and up their game. Clearly each edition is nothing more than a public test whilst they tweak the core program.
£42.39 (discount) is a good venue for 3 routes and 2 Loco Add-Ons a specially with how much just one releases nowadays. The Austrian route is that does it for me as I have holidayed in Austria not on the line though and been on the 4024 the old livery is the best. ECML second do think they should of done the London section more. The American route I'm not that bothered about but it's not a freight only route at least I will give it a go though.
5:25 well you can actually hide the UI and then make a steam screenshot with it so thats one way of doing it, thats the same way I do it ALWAYS when I take screenshots, first hitting F12 and then right after Crtl+F10 so screenshots get saved on both Dovetail Live railfan shots and my local screenshots folder

I got really triggered during the live stream when they mentioned that they chose the border crossing into Germany because it's easy. It's easy for them to reuse assets, that's what it is. I'm happy Austria is coming, even though I'm not much of a fan of the 4024, but they could have at least made something interesting! They mentioned crossing into France. That would have been awesome, but no... they have to take the lazy way. And why the fuck do they think it's ok to ask 40 euros for 3 routes and only 1 train each. I will honestly be interested in getting only Vorarlberg if possible. Just to keep up with the content and because it's the only addon I look forward to

I personally think it’s worth it, 3 routes (2 longer than 60 miles) a new editor, a highly requested route (even though it’s the wrong part) for 43 pounds (deluxe) it’s a great price

I was just saying “if there is possibly going to be a way”, so in other words “it would be great if, but who cares anyway if not”. I was just thinking if you could somehow translate TSCs assets from .geopcdx as well as the scripts to whatever TSW is using inside the .paks, as well as the route tiles (I think TSW is also using tiles?) and make it work in TSW which would result in an incredible content boost. The Vorarlberg route got me thinking about this, as it’s going to exist in both games (so why don’t just translate it?) but as I don’t have a lot of experience in script languages and game content creation it would be interesting to know how much it would take to build a program to translate crap between TSCs engine (Nvidia PhysX) and TSWs (UE4) and why noone really talks about it. That’s just what I thought about, apologies for the really long text lol but would be cool if someone who knows more about game engines and scripts could explain why this hasn’t been done yet. I doubt console will ever get the editor. They may get the ability to use editor made content, but running a windows-only program like UE on console with console OS may well be impossible. If you have a windows PC (or Mac running virtualbox) you may be able to tinker with the editor without owning the game. You wouldn’t be able to play anything though.

With TSW3 you were able to buy e.g. Birmingham Cross City as Standalone Starter for the same Price as the DLC. So you would get TSW3 for „free“ with the DLC. I guess it will be the same with TSW4
There should also be 2 new routes in the game in the future months: Amtrak Pacific Surfliner (San Diego-Los Angeles-Santa Barbara-San Luis Obispo) (should be released on December 2023) WeGo Star (Lebanon-Nashville) (should be released on March 2024) Hopefully they add these passenger railroads in the game in the future
