The Hitachi excavator will always be what I see as the matriarch of the channel. Still one of the best resurrection videos on UA-cam ever. Parked because all those years because a steering linkage pin fell out.

That’s a great question 🤔 I found myself walking back into the grocery store after I got to the car and realized that they didn’t charge me for 4 cans of kombucha and after returning the cashier said “ thanks for being honest” I’m 62 and when you asked this question I thought about my own kids telling them to always be honest and fair ❤️🤙🏼💯 LOVED YOUR QUESTION!

Me and my dad put our money together 4 years ago when I was 16 and bought an old Leyland 270 tractor. Ever since then I've been learning more about these ancient machines.
But the best thing was the feeling I got from spending the winter tinkering at it with my dad.
I'm glad your young fella will hopefully grow up having the same interest and the same wonderful memories.
Much love from Ireland man, keep at it.

He’s a lucky lil fella! I remember the day my dad taught me how to start his old Chevy pickup back in 67 with me being five. Only problem was he ran into the house for something and I started the truck and dropped it in reverse then into drive just as we hit the end of the driveway. There was NO brake needed to put anything into gear back then. Anyway he came out just in time to throw it in park as I got back up to the steps of our back porch! Any they say you can’t possibly remember that far back especially it now being 56 years later… oh I remember it quite clearly. Teach him well my friend, he’ll be a great helper and mechanic/tech someday if he chooses to follow in his dad’s footsteps. Thanks for taking us along.✌🏼😉

Thanks Mart very interesting for me. I remember as a kid during the 1940s and 50s we used to go to the A & P Show at the Westport Racecourse and clamber all over the brand new machines there. I was always impressed. Also, during race meetings we got sacks of thistles for the race horses and took them there to the stables, for a couple of 'bob', from the trainers. My Dad, a former longtime seaman, didn't learn to drive until in his 50s, Us kids were all licensed drivers long before him, i got my licence in 1955 at 15yo. We rode motorbikes as young guys, and we all had 303 rifles. It was common for us to ride our bikes to Charleston with our rifle over our shoulder, where we would go hunting up the Nile River or up Mount Baldie, where we would sleep the night in the bush. I went in the NZ Army at 21, and served abroad in an Infantry Battalion. Regards. Bob. 1RNZIR. God Save New Zealand.

You have so much wood, you should build more shed space, the condensate is killing anything metall under a Tarp. Just burry some 200liter barrels and fill them out with concrete, add a plate with a spigot, get raw wood, debark them with a handheld planer, drill the end, lift it on the spigot and stabilize with boards, add beams and boards and finally get roofing Metall on it, 2 weeks should be enough to make the foundations pillars and beams, crossbeams you gotta saw

Even had him negotiating sales at 11... he got the profits so he played hard ball. He is a natural mechanic, but pursuing a modeling career in LA. Go figure. When Toby's a teenager he may turn away, but he will never forget these lessons. Marty, you're doing the right thing giving him a firm mechanical foundation to build from. Always a delight to view your videos, Marty! Thanks so much! Your wife is a wonderful patient person to allow you to have such a fleet of machines - they all work thanks to your expertise. Great to see you share your knowledge with your son and the woofer is quite the character, wanting to get into everything with his pack! 🙂

It's a good thing you ran out of machines Marty because you're running out of road to line them up on. Great video thumbs up.

G'day again from across the ditch.
It's been great watching you fix up these pieces over the years, and it goes to show you don't always need whiz bang new machines to do what you need.
And to think i found your channel by watching the old Angry Ram videos hahaha

Unexpectedly, another great video. But this one was really unique with the inclusion of your kids.
I think you should do this type of gig every 4 months or so so we can follow their development. You’re cool; they’re cool.

    G'day Marty.
Always good to look through the collection.
I'd say most of us are looking forward to see what pops out of that fertile NZ earth .
The white bull terrier is a beautiful dog ,had one just the same as a kid ,was a real character.
    Respect....!
