I love variegated yarn and have quite a few blankets made with different color ways. I am always looking for another pattern and this one is perfect! It’s simple but interesting. I love half doubles so in the second row I am substituting a half double. This keeps me a bit more engaged going back-and-forth from the row with a double and a space to the straight rows with half doubles. Thank you so much!

I have fallen in love with this pattern and am doing the throw size with 176 chains... when I am doing the very first double crochet 3 times then chain 1 and repeat all the way down at the end it's only giving me 2 double crochet and not three. I have took it apart and done it all over again and still getting the same.

If you chained 100 to begin your blanket, Row 1 should have 99 stitches, 98 double crochet, plus the chain 2 (counts as a double crochet stitch) created at the start when you skipped two chains. It may be hard to recognize. Insert the third and final double crochet of Row 2 in the top of that beginning chain 2. Hope that helps.😊
