Thanks, and get yourselves an ice cream in this hot weather. Great content as ever chaps😆
Thank you buddy 👌👍
@@sruk Hello Rob, how do you make a contribution?
@@ged3680 hi there is a link in the description of the video
@@ged3680 i was thinking the same
No there is a thanks icon under the video. Just along from the like button👍
The mk1 Seat Ibiza was nothing to do with Nissan or Hyundai, it was actually based on the Fiat Ritmo.
We hired one on Holiday in Spain when I was a little boy, was actually an OK car.
Also the Honda that looked like a Rover, the equivalent Rover was the same car, so you were right.
And arguably an early R53 Mini Cooper S is approaching classic status, it's getting hard to find a decent one now.
And whilst there's a number of ratty vdubs, most of us like them shiny 😉
Brilliant guys! My father had a Renault R10 new in 69. He used it as a driving school car had duel controls fitted. I used to service it, it done over 100.000 miles without a splutter. Just brake pads, and normal service parts, brilliant car, and I had an R8 Gordini at the time, another story! Cheers guys!
Great video Rob, nice to see cars from my era still around, I am 77 but still love my cars and especially watching you two putting things back together. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Chris is an encyclopedia of car knowledge.
There are 13 Renault 10'S left on the UK roads with another 5 SORN. That makes it a very rare car. The van that Chris and his Dad restored has stood the test of time and is a testament to their skills . Nice Sunday outing lads.
It's amazing to think the Morris Truck is 1930, it's mind blowing to think of the history it's been part of and been through 👏
I was born in 91 so most of these are way before my time, but I love these types of video, especially with Chris the walking encyclopedia. The pictures at the end were a really nice touch
Bet this brought a lump to Chris' throat. Very enjoyable guys.
loved the bit of history at the end.
Cheers both Rob and Chris the more well known the more access you get to these places making even better videos for us - if that is possible!👍
Never commented before but how lovely to see Chris and his Dad
That wasn’t his dad bud
Those Mercedes SEC ‘s were amazing and still look amazing now. Loved those
Rob I used to fit the cage behind seats on the escort van them rear doors were part of security pack fitted in factory forgot to say in halewood liverpool Ford plant
Now that’s what you call a great Haircut Chris 👌🏻 a style that never ages 😁 unlike we all do sadly . Nice photos of you truck and Dad, special memories I bet 👍🏻.
Did anyone spot the Fiat Stilo Schumacher !!?
That Prinz is an NSU. There can't be many of those around nowadays. NSU probably more well known for their RO80 rotary engined large car but also had small rear engined rear wheel drive cars which were pretty good.
I used to have one. Sold it in 1986 for £140! Little 550cc two cylinder engine in the back and I had to put two bags of sand in the front to stop it wandering all over the road!
Them photos, WOW What a labour of love well done lads 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great video guys. My Dad also had an Austin 7 which he had to reverse up steep hills. The reason was fuel starvation as the fuel was gravity fed with no pump. Reversing meant the tank was above the carburettor!
The Seat Ibiza was designed by Giugario and had an engine and gearbox designed by Porsche and was launched in 1984 before VW took over the company. It was never any part of Nissan.
Correct. Based on the Fiat Ritmo. Fiat had something like a 35% holding in SEAT, but pretty well ran the company for a while.
Great to see the photos of Chris' old man. I bet he was very handy himself
That was Bernard, the Butcher who bought the Morris from my dad.
@@sruk ah brilliant!
Chris and his dad did a fantastic job on the old truck. Wish utube was around back then to see that restoration in detail. Chris,s dad looks so proud, and we'll he might. Thanks lads. Enjoyed that.👍
The Renault 10 caught my eye also. I just love 60's and 70's rear engine stuff! Quite unusual today but was all the norm of their time!
I love the old Renault's and that had low mileage . 'Semaphore' is the word you were looking for regarding pop up indicators. I never have liked the rubber bumper versions of the MG, some people now put chrome bumpers on them, much better. A neighbour had an A35 for many years
He was quite a large chap, never quite knew how he drove it for so long. When he passed away one of the sons recommissioned it and it went on for many more years. I liked the photos at the end of the restoration, lovely. Thanks to James for letting you rummage! Thanks to you both Rob and Chris for taking us through the collection. 👍
That White Mini van looks like it's been a Mini van too long Rob.
A slower paced video guys, just what's needed on a hot day like this 👌
Thanks for tagging us along, enjoyed seeing the old cars. My first car was a 1939 Morris series E which I purchased in 1962 for £10, happy days in that.
Great video and walk around but that slide show at the end was very touching the music was perfect I feel that Chris seeing that van was very moving for him hopefully he buys it
Great video- A nice NSU Prinz (abosorbed into Audi) and next to it an Armstrong Siddeley , The Seat Ibiza had nothing to do with Nissan and was designed in Italy by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Italdesign. The same design house that penned the Mark 1 golf.! Very enjoyable seeing all those classics.
Brilliant guys, thoroughly enjoyed that, cheers 👍👍
The Ford pick up beside the BT Escort van is a Thames van also known as the 400e. The van version was made in two versions, the 10/12 cwt and the 15cwt. The number was on the badge above the rad grille. My Dad bought a 10/12 version secondhand in 1960 and cut windows into both sides and converted it into a camper. As with most early vans the engine was between the front seats with a removable metal cover for access. The cover had a stepped top and made a great seat for me as a nipper (bloody hot through). Ive been 100's of miles sitting on the cover (no seatbelts of course). The cover was fastened down with two rubber hooks and metal retainers, as used on rally car bonnets of that era. I gashed my shin on one of the metal retainers and still have the scar to prove it!!!. PHJ 965 where are you now???
Absolutely brilliant!!!! Wow!!! There’s some history there!!!! Absolutely amazing!!! Thank you both very much!! ☺️
Semaphore indicators are the term I used to know those as.
And the Ford pop side trafficators are not repeaters, but the only indicators on there I believe.
My brother in law had a Renault similar to that one. But I think his was an 8 or something.
I could go on all day about some of those.
A great video again!
From the last video you did at Hobbs Parker I bid on an MX5 and bought it, had it serviced & MOTd just around the corner in Ashford, had some bodywork damage fixed nearby then drove it via the Channel Tunnel to Bordeaux - a flipping long test drive! A fun car to drive around. I spoke to James when sorting it - buying was the easy bit.
Loving the old bus in there thank you guys 👌👌👌
One out of ten for your classic car knowledge
Nice touch with the, photos at the end, good luck at the auction Chris
You can buy new bulkheads for all series ones now. Few places sell them. Also, all body panels now available too. Easy project for you guys.
One of your best There Rob and Chris , a fantastic walk down memory lane , the music at the end and pictures the memories nearly made me cry !!
Pure gold, loved it. Thanks lads👍🏼
Hello Rob and Chris, this was a awesome video to watch.nice to see some classics and modern cars.loved the two mini's there.shame about the Mini 40 anniversary outside the carpark 😔.seeing Chris at the end with the same van, and now looking at it what a difference.
Lovely old more. Great to hear Chris' knowledge of the old delivery van.
As somebody already said great photo of Chris and his dad nostalgic
That’s not his dad bud it’s the butcher 👍
@@sruk sorry got the wrong end of the stick still a great photo
I drove a mates Monza once, incredible drive and what a superb machine 👍
What a lovely old commercial vehicle, someone will really enjoy that. As for the Hillman my dad had one of them, just love these walk about's, those Land Rover are a enthusiasts job. Wheels on the Mini Van are Dunlop formula D1s my uncle had them on his 1965 Cooper S. In the 60s police in Cumbria used the Austin A35 vans as dog vans.
Really enjoyed that rob and Chris Thankyou for taking us along. 👍 noticed getting excited around the old tractor 😁
Cracking video. Love the way Chris knows instantly what the cars are and actual belly laugh at Rob talking about Wheelbarrow rims on the Mini van . Brilliant 🤣🤣🤣❤
Great walkaround guys.chris must feel proud every time he sees that truck👍👍
I'm amazed that you didn't see the camper van potential of the Double decker bus and the ice cream van lads.
Very nice to see you both in your Lambo. Thanks for your content.
Chris is like a kid in a sweet shop.
Great video guys thanks very much for taking the time to let us see the cars 👍🏻🏴
No better man than your dad whoever you are 👍
Nice video and thanks for getting bikes in. Be good to see your bikes rob 👍❤️🔧🏍🚗
I agree, show your bikes please Rob
1. U didnt show the double decker bus 🤣
2. U didnt fire the lambo up to hear it roar💥
3. Belting pics added at the end and fantastic content as always lads 💥💯👍👊.p.s revin rodney cracked me up 🤣🤣
I was at goodwood breakfast club today, heard some guy mention you two 😁 just shows how many people watch you guys 👍🏼
Great video rob really enjoyed the story Chris told thanks sharing with us 👍 👍
Hello Rob and Chris, nice little video and some great cars.
Nice memories for Chris at the end with the pictures.
Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged
Like Chris said - something for everyone. My wife kept rolling her eyes every time I said "My dad had one of those," Rover 90, Rover 2000, Hillman Minx, Austin A35 van, Renault 10.
Well done you two so many youthful memories for me A30,A35, moggie minor, and the ford pop sit up and beg!! Thanks lads.👍
Revving Rodney 🤣 that cracked me up.. Great video chaps thanks 👍
Great video as always.
Love the BMW E30, always wanted the E30 318is. Starting to rise quickly in value now! 👍🏼
Revvin Rodney 🤣🤣🤣👌 class!!
Just as I asked for the classic section at copart too! Excellent footage guys 👍
Thanks guy's, brilliant as always.Lovely to see a bit of history too with the pictures at the end, cheere.
Hello Guys . Chris , that MGB Is probably reshelled with a "heritage " shell . British Leyland spent over £2 million changing the ride hight , detuning the engine and fitting those rubber bumpers, which weigh about 40 kgs to meet a US law only to find that the car fell into a different weight category and didn't need changing !!! Rob, that engine wasn't for that car ! Its a Daimler 250 and has the sweetest 2.5 litre V8 . And the Renault had definitely been flashed down the sides ! Rob, your quite right in those days the metallics were single stage only , and they were a nightmare ! Hope this helps ! Lovely woodworking skills at the end . That's proper coach building !
That was absolutely brilliant 🤩 many thanks Rob and Chris.
"He had to reverse it up hills" 🤣🤣
Thank you Chris and Rob, I really enjoyed the classic preview with lots of nice classics, kind of you to share your day out... Would be lovely to see Chris buy that butchers truck I'd be made up for him👌
Rob you need to contain yourself when you see a motor home 😂 enjoyable video guys 👍
Great vid lads. The end pics, along with the music made my eyes a bit moist, remembering my childhood love of all things with wheels.
almost feel Chris should get that van back
Nice to see Chris was getting the wind in his hair in the lambo😂.
Love the tiny old cars that Morris Commercial is beautiful. Must be nice to see it’s been taken care of since you restored it thanks
Cool to see the Morris and the photos. Thanks for sharing this with us take care
Renault 10 . Got to be original, who would restore it? Classic Chris.
Just watching today’s video Guys, the classic car and motorcycle auction. Love Chris’s T-shirt Nashville Tennessee which is about an hour and 45 minutes from where I now live! If it weren’t for the accent, which I’ve lost being in US for almost 30 years, we would be twins lol
Those side indicators that pop out are actually called Trafficators, great video as always have a good one to both of you from Canada 🇨🇦
Re the MGB, 1st one dark red was actually a rubber bumper model at that age, it’s had a chrome conversion carried out with I guess suspension lowered to suit, smart car but not an original factory specimen🚗🚗
Thanks guys
Amazing stuff lads, love those kind of stories about old vehicles etc.
Cheers fella's
OFX 942 is a Thames Trader 300E (I think) with a Dorset registration plate. I'm guessing it's early 1960s - lovely.
Nice video, I like seeing old commercial vehicles as well as the usual classics
I remember when I had my fiesta RS Turbo had extra welded seams compared too the standard fiesta. As when I had a crash repair it was the extra welding that saved it from being written off. I believe the extra welding strengthened & stiffened the RS chassis
Thanks for taking us out with you, really interesting, the Morris isn’t a patch on Chris,s BUT it soon could be hey Chris 😍😍£££ get it bought lad you deserve it
Nice cars. You missed the red Fiat Stilo Schumacher in the back yard, they are rare and worth some money. Really great cars there. The Bentley Turbo R is a beautiful car but is too expensive, you fix one issue and two will pop up, specially with mineral oil leaks lol.
Guys really nice photos at the end and Chris actually had hair haha.
Brilliant photo right at the end with Chris and his Younger days! 😝
Like Chris said bud that picture is him and the chap that bought it 👍
@@sruk me not listening 🙉
Good photo though
Awsome video once again and just to add the seat was part of fiat the shell is actually a fiat tipo 👍
Fantastic different video!!
Well done guys, for taking the time to record this video on your days of !!
Bit of memory lane for Chris hope it brought back fond memories of working with his dad from the work it certainly looks like that know there way round them commicals
Fantastic thanks guys
Thanks guys. Most enjoyable. Best cr there is the grey rally mini on a 66 plate. I used to have one many moons ago, an actual ex works one from the Monte Carlo. Won't tell you what I sold it for in 1970 but it was more than a new 3 bedroom house in those days. Don't know why the one here is in Farina grey. Could be a respray or a replica. The true originals had a spot light in the centre of the roof! Intriguing.
That first gen ibiza was based on fiat ritmo or strada. Engine was designed by porsche for seat with same bore centres as fiat engine so they could make it using same transfer equipment etc.
I used to love the Opel Monza back in the day. It was designed by Opel but also sold over here as a Vauxhall Royale Coupe with a few cosmetic differences. The Opel version looked more sporty and better quality in my eyes even though I was a Vauxhall fan at the time.
Interesting especially the story of Chris’s old build 👍🏻
Evening lads, hope your both good. I was watching an old vid of yours where you went to the auction site in ashford and walked round looking and talking about the cars. And Chris found his old van that he restored and sold to a butcher. Well I may be mistaken but I think that it was my local butcher who bought it. He used it to deliver the orders around the town and local area. It was great seeing it around town and was a great advertising gimmick, because everyone would always look at something they don’t always see! I live in the same area as yourselves, so it stands to reason that it has a good chance of being the right one. Always enjoying your vids and look forward to the next one. Great content and excellent waffle 😆,just enough! All the best lads and looking forward to the next instalment. 👍👍🚘🚘.
I have a 2005 4.2 L S Type Jaguar , I wanted to do a small rust spot so I took the paint code off the door frame and got a spray cane made , the only trouble is the silver on the car has faded now I'm back to square one lol. Thank you guys for the tour .
Excellent Content guys. Thanks for doing a walk around in the Auction. we got to see so many interesting vehicles and stories behind them. I really enjoyed watching this video lads i think you should do videos like this more often. Amazing content Rob and Chris. See you on Wednesday.
Great walk around video again fellas some motor's are a lovely trip down memory lane 😀 and some i have not got a clue about. Interesting content asusal once again Chris knows his stuff take it easy fellas 😉 looking forward to Wednesday stay lucky 😀.
Hi Rob the singer was part of the Hillman cars
Those pictures at the end were lovely
