Update guys, just installed mine today. Just like he said the hardest part is the leather clips on the bottom cover. Taking them off and putting the new one on. Taking the old column cover off was easy. Installing the paddle shifters was easy. Putting together the four piece column cover replacement took me like 30 minutes.

@@carlosbolanos5361 sure, you could add it aftermarket. but if your key fob has a circular arrow button at the top, thats your remote start and it came from the factory
Did mine in 30 minutes, it was easy overall. Hardest part was removing the plastic around the column I squeezed the edges and pulled down and it popped off. I have a 2014 Q50 premium. Definitely a good and fun mod.
just for notice. You actually don't need to order Bolts and Nuts from Nissan. Simply go to place like Home Depot or Lowe's. Bolts are standard M6 bolts and Nuts are any nuts that fit M6 bots. So for a summary, 2x M6 bolts and 2x nuts that fit M6 bolts.

I found the snapping of the multipiece shroud to be the most difficult for me, mainly out of fear of snapping something. But the fit when placed correctly is spot on...
Doest'n work on a 2019 european version of the q50 / q50 hybrid, there are no wires inside to connect, you need a completly modding kit behind the speedometer
ryan nurse I found the paddles off a g37 at a local salvage yard. I offered them $100 they said $120. Then I found the shroud online-link in the description-for $100. So $220ish for all of it and a 30 minute installation.

I have seen it done. I don’t think the guy was too pleased with the results but it didn’t look too bad. The holes were just bigger than they needed to be. I considered doing it myself with a dremel but found the deal in the shrouds.
Just to try to do it right away my mom has a fx35 with paddles, I can use the same measurement from hers . Btw you think I can find the hardware at Home Depot or Lowe’s just to see if I can save a trip to the dealership lol

I found the bolts at an infiniti dealer (you can also find them in a Nissan dealer), the nuts were not available in my area so I bought some at home depot ¼ fine thread. Thankyou 😁

@@Firehazzard I believe they are just the same photos which can definitely cause confusion. Watch through the video again--I show the part number on the box for the shroud I purchased. It is manual tilt. These are also nissan part numbers so you can call a nissan/infiniti dealer and confirm.
Looks like the price is still around 200-250 on eBay but at the pick and pull salvage yard I go to in Denver I’ve been pickin them up for 17 bucks. I go every couple of months and always get atleast 1 set

Looks are obviously subjective but yes, I think we’ve mentioned it a few times in the comments and in other videos that there are several cars you can use paddles from which helps broaden the search and gives more options. Maxima and g37 paddles are often used in these Q50 upgrades.

Maybe if i was 50lbs heavier and my face and hair was different... But you're right, paddle shifters with a cvt doesn't even make sense. Don't remove them--just don't use them.
I have the 2014 3.7 Premium Q50. I see there are multiple versions for the 3.7. On the site, the auto tilt linked says its listed for the sports version. Which shroud should I get for the auto tilt?

Hello. Congratulations for the video, I want to do this on my Q50 2015! The question is, how I know if I need Auto Tilt or Manual Tilt? I supose That the difference is the "electric movement" of the Steering wheel position, so Auto Tilt is electric movement, manual is "manual" movement, is that correct? thanks in advance
Yes, some. 2014s and 15s seem to all be equipped with plugs. It seems as though some 16s were and some were not. I always suggest pulling the shroud and looking before buying!
Hey I’m about to do this modification. Do you know if the q50 steering column is the same as a q70 as I’m taking the paddle shifters from a q70? Both our cars have power tilt.

I’ve got the shifters in but can’t find the shroud I contacted the website still waiting for a response they had said to email parts specialist. Any word of advice
I have not thought about that. With the right amount of money and time anything can be done, but I’m not sure if it has been. The paddle shifters are on the wheel as supposed to the column.

have you noticed shifting is a bit more responsive with the paddles vs manually shifting with the stick? I did this a few months back and it seems that way for me.
It’s hard to tell for me honestly because of the tune. After being tuned, the shifts seemed to be a bit more snappy so I’m not sure if it’s the paddles or not, but I am very pleased!
I got the ecutek tune. I don’t believe the trans can be tuned technically, but whatever settings are adjusted made the throttle much more responsive which possibly just makes it feel more responsive. It’s not super quick when you’re at half throttle, but wide open it shifts quite firmly

I’m not totally sure. I doubt the g37 paddles are compatible. You could remove the steering column shroud to see if it’s pre wired. I haven’t seen anyone install paddles on the new ones yet.

You have to search for the paddles. Either a dealership, eBay or a salvage yard. I provided a links to the steering column shroud. There’s nothing more

Mine is manual tilt as well, so you’d want the part number i have. They are tough to find-I’d just try the link I gave you. You won’t find one cheaper in better shape.

Cheap Q50 Oh yeah it won’t be a problem finding hardware. I’m just not sure exactly the specs. I happened to have a couple of nuts in my bin that fit.

That part number shows a column with power tilt. Is there a column cover for paddle shifters and the manual tilt lever underneath?
The part number shown in the video on the box was the column shroud I used which is manual tilt

Fun fact, the Nissan Maxima and Altima paddle shifters also work well with the 14-15 Q50 models, and they look better

Only difference is auto tilt or manual tilt. Obviously it has to say “sport” because only the sport had paddle shifters.
Great vid just a question would the manual tilt shroud fit on a q50 2018 luxe because it says its for older model years
I doubt it. Maybe in the non-sport models, but the paddle design was different in 18+ so I would guess it’s different

It was just to keep the paddles together while they were for sale. You won't need a bracket for install.

I believe most 14s had the connectors. It’s easy to pull the lower shroud and check though. Worth looking before buying

Hello. Congratulations for the video, I want to do this on my Q50 2015! The question is, how I know if I need Auto Tilt or Manual Tilt? I supose That the difference is the "electric movement" of the Steering wheel position, so Auto Tilt is electric movement, manual is "manual" movement, is that correct? thanks in advance
That is correct. The manual tilt column shroud has a cutout for a level. The auto tilt is a big circular cutout.
I just purchase the parts! I am excited to do this once it arrives. I will let you Know when I receive it and mount it in My Q50 2015...

Yes, some. 2014s and 15s seem to all be equipped with plugs. It seems as though some 16s were and some were not. I always suggest pulling the shroud and looking before buying!

are the connectors supposed to be 2 different sizes? my left one is a different shape & slightly smaller than my right one

If you have to pull a lever to tilt your wheel, you have manual tilt.

Yes--some people have done it but you have to be very careful. Its easy to take way too much off, which looks bad!

No the shroud is for the Q50. I do not think the G shroud is compatible.
do you think a little modification on the existing plastic pieces can be done not to change them?
Yes. Some people have done it with a dremel. Just take your time

Paddles are not connected to the steering wheel in the older Q.

Hey I’m about to do this modification. Do you know if the q50 steering column is the same as a q70 as I’m taking the paddle shifters from a q70? Both our cars have power tilt.
I would imagine they are the same paddles. G37, 370z and maxima paddles for as well

You need the column shroud that fits the paddles

I have not thought about that. With the right amount of money and time anything can be done, but I’m not sure if it has been. The paddle shifters are on the wheel as supposed to the column.

I have a weird problem. I have checked on my Q50 2016 and just found 1 connector in the right side and nothing in the left. Have you seen this?

I have not heard of this. Look around a bit closer. Sometimes they are tucked away hidden

Should and no it won’t-just need the shroud compatible with paddles and electric tilt

Yifei Song you’ll want to pull the shroud and double check if it’s pre wired. Some are and some aren’t after 2015.

have you noticed shifting is a bit more responsive with the paddles vs manually shifting with the stick? I did this a few months back and it seems that way for me.
It’s hard to tell for me honestly because of the tune. After being tuned, the shifts seemed to be a bit more snappy so I’m not sure if it’s the paddles or not, but I am very pleased!

I got the ecutek tune. I don’t believe the trans can be tuned technically, but whatever settings are adjusted made the throttle much more responsive which possibly just makes it feel more responsive. It’s not super quick when you’re at half throttle, but wide open it shifts quite firmly

Yes. Just like in the sport trim. I would not recommend installing paddles if you couldn’t actually use them
Does the bottom bolt need a nut on the other side or is it just the bolt on the bottom and nut on top

They are wrapped up in foam tape, but yes pretty easy

I’m not totally sure. I doubt the g37 paddles are compatible. You could remove the steering column shroud to see if it’s pre wired. I haven’t seen anyone install paddles on the new ones yet.

You have to search for the paddles. Either a dealership, eBay or a salvage yard. I provided a links to the steering column shroud. There’s nothing more

Hey man, for the Shroud, all I can find on EBAY is listed as 48470-4GF3A. Are this the same one as 48470-4gf2a that you listed above? Mine is 15 Q50 premium with manual tilt.
Mine is manual tilt as well, so you’d want the part number i have. They are tough to find-I’d just try the link I gave you. You won’t find one cheaper in better shape.

Hey, I just did this exact install on my 2014 Q50 and for some reason the transmission won’t consistently up shift. Some times it does and some times it doesn’t. Do U know what the issue could be?

I’m having a weird problem, the left side fit 100% but the right side when I shift up, it touchs the steering wheel! IDK what to do! 😢
Pull it back out and inspect it. Should not come that far forward. May not have it tightened down?
