Didn't you see the video lol? I said right away that this was not an ideal road to drive spiritedly--bikers, houses, and tons of traffic. That's why I was having to explain what to do rather than actually being able to do it myself. You also have to remember that MOST people just drive normally--so even if this isn't "spirited" for you or me, doesn't mean that it's not for a majority of people. Most people aren't taking 15mph curves at 30mph and holding 4500+ rpm lol. As I said, I need a 2nd set of hands to film, so I can actually use both hands and drive--not possible to carve corners with one hand and film with another!

Thank you so much for the content. Just a question can you engage into manual mode while already driving and vise versa while at highway speeds? Or would this damage the transmission?
The issue I think many people have with paddle shifters is that there is no advantage in using them day-to-day. The automatic setting is far more efficient.
So I can't seem to find the sweet spot to shift into 5th smoothly while driving on the highway. Any ideas? I've tried at 4500 , 5k , 5500 I really don't wanna raw dawg to 6k bc by then I'm already well over triple digits
I mean it really depends on what you’re doing. If you’re still pulling in 5th you’re absolutely flying so send it and shift at 7k lol. Otherwise let off at the top of 4th and shift into 5th on deccel and cruise haha
So if your car downshifts for you and you are slowing down and getting ready to accelerate again the car is in a higher gear. When exactly should you down shift?
When slowing, the car downshifts "late," so it wouldn't be in an optimal gear/rpm range for accelerating quickly. If you're talking about just like normal acceleration from a stop light or something, it's totally fine. But if you're down shifting in a spirited driving situation, you'll want to downshift in a way that keeps the rpm up. I discuss this a bit more in my how NOT to use paddle shifters video, but you want to downshift at a point where the rpm will jump to an optimal range--3,000 - 4,000 rpm or so unless you're really being aggressive.
@@SpeedCultureStudios idk if you should have foot on throttle while spirited downshifting, I have a little experience with downshifting In a stick shift and the engine breaking comparatively is much more aggressive with paddle shifters. So just wondering if I'm doing something wrong.
Yes, if just coasting. I wouldn’t downshift with too much throttle. In more aggressive scenarios, it’s likely you’ll be in the brakes and using the downshifts to engine brake. Unless you’re using 2 feet, you’ll be off the throttle.

I think I discussed that in my other shifter video, but upshift sround 2500-3000 rpm. I hold until 3000 because it sounds good lol. Downshift when your rpm matches your speed. In other words, if you’re in 4th gear and 40mph snd slowing down - downshift to 3rd at 30. Then 2nd gear at 20mph.

@@SpeedCultureStudios Does that only apply to upshift or both upshift and downshift. Because sometimes when I try to pass other cars, I may downshift when I am using 3/4 throttle. Thanks.
It feels wrong taking advice from an Infiniti driver... but ur body panels all match so you seem legit
😂 well if it was a G35 or G37 I would understand where you’re coming from haha. Thanks for taking a look!
Red sport?

Beeps at you when miss a shift
Well you can’t really “miss” a shift. Either you hit the paddle or you don’t. But yes it does beep if you shift too early
What if I cruise at 100-120 🤔
Then you're golden!
@@SpeedCultureStudios would that be in 4th or 5th
@@skyforgedgaming cruising…7th.
You’ll be deep in the power band at 100mph in 4th probably.
I cant imagine my car not having the 3.0t
why would you try lol
Paddleshifting fun = bye bye gas ⛽️ 😆
Pretty much 😂
Can't hear the motor on a stock Q50, is problem.#1
Yes you can. And you don’t need to hear the motor. You should be able to hear the exhaust. But you can also feel it
@SpeedCultureStudios Not with my ears, not on my '21 RS before the catback. Most tame/lame motor noise ever.
@@thinkfast469 😂 ah yes the 3.0t is a bit quiet in stock form
What steering wheel is that?
@jaliscos_carbonfiber

I had just reset it and was driving in traffic. I average about 20-21
