EXACTLY how I feel every time I watch her reactions!
The most unique movie going experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was SILENT. No eating popcorn. No checking phones. Everyone was on the edge of their seats, fully immersed, and STRESSED. I think I had my hand over my mouth for the majority of it.
Oh I cannot even begin to imagine what on earth trying to deliver a child would feel like, much less with making noise being such a huge factor. I've experienced one contraction while having an IUD swapped out and giiiiirl, my hips shot straight up into the air because holy crap - the pain. My doctor explained what was happening and stayed calm, explaining it would be over soon. I just started laughing and said "If this is what a contraction feels like, I'm so screwed when I decide to have kids". My doctor said "Actually, the fact that you're able to articulate a joke during this is a good sign". Laughed even harder when she said that. "Oh terrific" I replied.
There is a wonderful video essay about this film on the Cinemawins channel (not Cinemasins, that's a different channel). It's called, "Everything Great about A Quiet Place".
I love these movies, and I've seen a bunch of reactors react to it. You are, by far, my favorite of them all.

Saw this in the theater with my best friend and teared up at the father's death after saying how much he loved her. I looked over at her and noticed she was crying too, lol.

it's definitely tense and the result for why it's tense is scary but I don't consider it horrifying which is why I think it's a bit easier for people who DONT like horror to watch.

Did you know that the dad John Krasinski also wrote and directed the film, plus the mum and dad in the film are also married in real life, they're a wonderfully funny couple and are hilarious in interviews. Also Millicent Simmonds who played the deaf girl is deaf in real life. Terrific film!
The ending, with the daughter turning the volume up, and the mother racking that shotgun, always gives me chills. Such a brilliant screenplay and phenomenal performances.
You should watch part 2. It’s great as well. And it shows day 1.

Great movie! - First thing I noticed though, parents don't put a child (esp. a small child) at the end of the line - One parent in the lead & one parent after the children

The daughter was upset because she doesn’t feel as trusted anymore. Remember, she accidentally caused her younger brothers death. She still feels blamed for it even if her parents don’t outright say it. That’s why she wants to be more independent to prove she’s not irresponsible
But that’s just my interpretation!
I thought of her a normal Teen, seeking her own identity, even in these dangerous times. Plus, the trip to the river to "let loose and make some noise" would be lost on her.

I hope you watch the sequel to this. Same actors and the story was actually good. I'm not a big fan of sequels to scary movies.
i don't like most 'classic' horror type movies, but this is more suspense and jump scares than actual, straight-up horror. it was good and the sequel is just as good if not better. it also shows how it all started.
I absolutely loved your reaction to this movie because I was the exact same way when I saw this in the theater. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. This was very intense and I agree everyone did such an excellent job!!! I can't wait till you see watch the sequel which is just as good as the first one. ❤️
Cool reincarnated form of the silent movie. I got the spear or machete, so it's a quiet kill, but could use a bow and arrow though.
The most stressful part of this whole movie was waiting for someone to step on that nail.

I was searching for this movie on HBO and Showtime, but found it on FX, instead. This is a solid movie, with well-developed characters, DFX advances the story, and a deaf actor is part of a close-knit family living in dangerous times. Imagine that, a movie without the usual Hollyweird garbage like DFX everywhere, Woke/The Message signaling, overpriced/low-talent "popular" actors, and a forest-destroying script full of talk/talk/talk about Nothing. Why is Hollyweird NOT making movies like "A Quiet Place"?

I hate horror movies but the Quiet Place movies I love because of the acting and fascinating story. I was so excited to see you do this because I knew the reactions would be amazing haha. I really hope you eventually watch the sequel because it's also very good.

I think she got pregnant before the creatures came.
She wasn’t pregnant when their son died in the beginning of the movie, she became pregnant after their son died. So the creatures were already there, they knew the danger they faced, and still got pregnant.
Yeah it clearly says "Day 472" or something like that. She most likely got pregnant very soon after they lost their child. They knew the risks (and it is a little stupid), but felt they needed to "replace" him because their grief was too hard to bear.
Doesn't have to be logical... but that's the way it went in the movie.
If she was pregnant before the creatures came then the baby would’ve already been one.
This movie is fabulous - so emotional and well done! I really hope you’ll consider reacting to The Haunting of Hill House for spooky season. I think you’d absolutely adore it. The horror is very well done, but the show…it’s really not about horror. It’s about family and grief and love and it’s just so beautiful and tragic. Can’t recommend enough!
