Instigating isn’t a true double damage. It’s +100% of the weapon’s base damage. For a Hunting Rifle it’s 70 points of damage added to the number in your Pip Boy.
This is exactly what I been looking for since I joined the game over a week ago.. everyone wants me to play a bloodied build and I'm like naw.. I want a challenge, no VATS because it feels like cheating to me and rifleman with some stealth. I like actually working for my head shots instead of relying on the game to do it for me lol
A tip for sentry bots without VATS. Use your initial sneak attack to cripple the launcher on their back or the grenade launcher arm. Or both if you can manage it. Then they are much easier to take down when all they have is their mini gun.
That is super cool to see, i'm playing pretty much like this, except i don't have all the pieces of this kit and i am far from this, i don't know most of the game, however, what i did understand now, and with the helps of guides like yours too, i'm doing pretty fine, i'm using the hunting rifle to very satisfying gameplay, you could take those bosses down with just that rifle by working your positioning, another thing that comes into play once you are non vats and this rifle. I love your guides and this non vats thing covered by you is all i needed.
Fallout 4's departure from criticals while just free aiming was the wrong idea. Vats was supposed to be there for people who wanted it to be more of a turned based game, but by the way they buffed up vats, they completely neglected those who want to actually aim. And in 76 you are basically missing out on major damage if you don't want to use vats, which is a major letdown
@@Glare108 Agreed, finding this now too. Around level 60 even with fairly similar rifleman perks as this video - I still feel really under powered vs everyone else on events and VATS just takes the fun away for me unfortunately. Wish there was some sort of perk or setup where you can boost out of VATS crits maybe at the cost of losing VATS crits, so people have to choose.
The way I always use snipers out of VATS is by aiming just to one side of an enemy and waiting for them to walk into my crosshair. Makes it a lot easier than trying to move your crosshair onto a moving target
There is a real lack of end game tier “sniper rifles” I’m actually a vats heavy build but many rifles aren’t actually any good, the best clearly being the gauss and worst being the hunting. There should be perk cards that allow for each type of build to be end game capable
The instigating effect is 100% extra damage from the base value of the weapon, not with all the weapon perks. And the 25% dwa is additive in the calculations so is not another true 25 percent added on top.
Hm, it was my experience that the damage bonus from Follow Through was greater than the Instigating. And most things took the same number of shots with either Vampires or Instigating as a result. Ended up favoring other prefixes because of it. Shame really as instigating was my favorite in FO4
Its sad how weak non vats rifleman is. So many events pull you out of stealth immediatly, the damage was balanced alongside auto weapons...making them nerfed more than the autos. Killing a boss will kill my weapon before i kill the boss. Its impossible to play non vats boss fights.
It’s definitely a challenge, mate. I exclusively play non vats. And loathe when creators talk mad smack about non vats. But you know what? We don’t have to worry about AP, or super super specific roles on weapons. I spent my first 150 levels with a piper revolver rifle and only did non vats. What it did was ensure I had a plenty of ammo. I rarely died. And yes my burst damage at events was lacking. I always could get first hits on many things. Because again AP has to recharge. Even now at level 860+ I use an anti armour faster fire rate and faster reload hunting rifle and still can get massive damage in events because I can quickly hit weak spots on mobs
Honestly I kind of with snipers had a bit more viability, at least in my experience trying to use them in events as stealth doesn’t really work with them
That's why I use more than one rifle. Trying to stealth in most events is a lost cause. The handmade or plasma flamer work really well for me in events even without stealth.
I've been using a VATS Gauss Rifle build for a while now, Ill probably be splicing my build together with this one since the luck perks seem mostly superfluous
I still get the glitch when I try to snipe a target.. if i dont kill them on the first shot, they start healing at a rapid rate. So I finally switched to commando. But I loved sneak sniper build. I need to video tape the glitch eventually and see if anyone can figure out what is going on there.
I think fireproof is a waste because you can just jump away from their grenades and molotovs and stuff if you have marsupial. Cool build though, but I couldn't play Fallout withou vats 😂
how do you get 5 golden perks on the gun ? I rolled around 8 legendary and only get 3 perks on them. I have gunsmith tier 5. I am new player just turned level 50.
It's a 3 star weapon. The other effects are from mods. 40% armor penetration comes from perforating magazine. +35% damage to scorched comes from using a prime receiver.
Am i the only one playing Fallout series without VATS? I just love playing realisticly, even in Fallout 4 and 76
Same, I haven't used vats since fallout 3
I don't use it really either I prefer hard aiming my gauss, hunting rifle ajd handmade
To be perfectly honest VATS it a pain to use for me and feels like cheating. That's why I love this build
@@seabhacgra517 I feel like it's so clunky. I avoid it as well
I rarely use it. Only if I get swarmed usually.
I almost exclusively play without VATS. I manually aim all my weapons. The only exception is if I happened to get swarmed.

I never liked using VATS and always mod the game to give me criticals outside of it. Thanks for posting this!

Works in real life too, when dealing with moving targets never aim AT the target. Predict its movement.😅
I totally forgot about VATS…😮 I’ve been playing this way for 28 levels, so no fancy perk cards or guns 😅

It does because you are too far away from the event for it to be counted when completed.

Finally a build without vats. I hate vats, I never use them.

Your character kinda looks like Cad Bane from star wars, was that intentional? Pretty cool either way.
Nice build. I would've like non vats build to be a bit less underdogs. But still it's fun.
Should try n roll a quad lmg for all that 308

I love your weapons and build....I was thinking....sniper/ handmade / and knife...with nuke grenades as a glass break...what do you all think??..
Where i can find the black paint for hand made? Really nice paint …
It came from the Atomic Shop

Can you make a non-vats setup for heavy guns and shotguns, please?
Could you use more or less this build with automatics, changing out rifleman perks for automatic ones
Yes.
Vats has always been for potatoe aim.
very nice! (borat voice)

Have you considered Strange In Numbers to buff the positives of your mutations, or is this a solo build?
I generally use that perk but was solo on a private server for the video.
At what level would I be able to start this build??
Does this include the laser rifle non auto
Try bloodied pipe revolver rifle with scope and it’s basically a faster dps no vats
I haven't seen anyone use a pipe gun at higher levels. Ever.
How is this build with the lever action rifle?
It works really well. Lever action has almost no recoil and a faster fire rate than the hunting rifle.
Very nice build. Sadly insta give double damage of base wepon.. maybe aa will be more fun
O boy he needs some spend some time in COD sniper lobbies 😂😂😂
