I might formulate replies to this tag, but for now I'll quote Wikipedia on Paper Cuts: "Paper cuts can be surprisingly painful as they can stimulate a large number of skin surface nociceptors in a very small area of the skin. Because the shallow cut does not bleed very much, the pain receptors are left open to the air, causing continued pain. This is exacerbated by irritation caused by the fibers in the paper itself, which may be coated in chemicals such as bleach."

Nice set of nosy questions Steve. I will do the video in the coming days. I am also going to resurrect some of the other old random question tags and do them. This is great. Since I just started this year, there are all kinds of these I haven't done yet! This is going to be fun. Thanks for the creative tag! Have a great weekend.

Enjoy the iPad 2. I had a 3 up until about a year and a half ago, worked fine. When I traded it in, all the youths behind the counter marveled at the ancient tech. 😁

    Harvard more famous than Fenway?
Drove through Dyersville once early in the morning. Didn't stop.

I visited the basilica and ran the bases and had a catch (with my living husband) on the Field of Dreams in Dyersville.

Your Washington Irving anecdote! Wow. There’s also Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago. ICU delirium is a real phenomenon well known in critical care, I’m finding it interesting how the greater public is becoming aware of it r/t covid.

Omg. My late husband and I took a road trip in part to visit a toy truck museum/store in Dyersville Iowa. Good memories.

Many job related paper cuts. But a file folder cut was the worst..

I have to visit the cathedral wherever I go. Heaven knows how many I have been to now but living in Europe is a bit of a advantage for that. In Italy there seems to be a duomo round every corner. Gothic was always my favourite but I have developed a fancy for the baroque in my old age.

I like to listen to Terry Gross Fresh Air interviews on NPR, along with Kris Boyd's Think on NPR, both have varied content, some better than others, but overall good to listen to.

In Des Moines, there is the Basilica of St John. It was built in the 1920s, and it is in Romanesque style.

1 What’s the nearest place to you that’s so famous everybody knows it? And how near is it?
    I actually have no idea.
2 Have you ever had a paper cut so bad you thought you might die of it?
Yes, one that was quite in the junction between the skin and the nail. I've been through a lot of physical pain in my life so I usually can endure today lots of it, but that one was a bit too much.
3 Have you ever found anything genuinely valuable in a used book you bought?
No, but i do have an old book set of Don Quixote in Spanish that was worth about 1000 dollars, not anymore because i've read it and wrote a lot of annotations and underlined passages. But once I bought A used edition of a pharmacology textbook for college, and inside it I found a love letter from the old owner, and since it was inside the book I supposed he either had no courage to deliver or if he did it was rejected: tha affected me sentimentally, and found emotional value in it.
4 Have you ever read, met, or married Jacques Barzun?
No, didn't even knew who that was before your video.
5 Aside from your pets, what is the specific non-human animal you see most often?
Rats, more specifically Wistar Albino Rats, I see, deal and work with dozens every week in the lab.
6 Have you ever been inside a cathedral? If more than one, do you have a favorite?
Yes, only one, and it wasn't something I really cared about.
7 Have you ever been actually seeing-and-hearing-things delirious?
Never, my life was someone boring, never went to the woods to get bitten by a snake, not I ever went to Woodstock to get bitten by LSD.
8 Do you have blood relatives who read for pleasure?
No, I am the only reader.
9 How many species have you smooched smack dab on the lips?
    Three, humans, CATS and dogs.
10 Do you ever listen to the radio? Any favorite program or person?
No, podcasts completely substituted the radio for me.
11 Have you ever been to the Eiffel Tower? The Leaning Tower of Pisa? The Louvre?
No, I am not really a traveling person.
12 What little thing do you miss most that you’ve lost due to the pandemic?
Going to a used book store from a friend of mine on Saturday during lunch time to drink beer and talk about books and music.
13 What little thing do you miss least that you’ve lost due to the pandemic?
Having to meet people in the corridors who I don't care about.
14 What’s your relationship with smalltalk? Hate it like acid, love it, merely competent?
Unless is with someone I deeply care about, I can't stand it, otherwise is great to talk for hours with someone you are close with about basically nothing, just enjoying their company.
15 Have you ever won money at gambling?
No. To live by the dice is incredibly stupid.
16 Do you ever give money or time to charities?
No. I am still young and wasn't born rich, so, not in a position to do so.
17 Do you CRAFT? Knitting? Crocheting? Woodworking? Pottery-throwing?
No, usually hand work annoys me instead of the calming effect so many people report. The exception is surgery, somehow is quite enjoyable and calming to do the very sensitive and technical manual work of sticking things inside a rat's brain and build a helmet around their open head late (so they stay alive), that is something I can craft.
18 Do you talk to yourself when you’re alone?
All the time, I have entire debates out loud with myself when I am alone. That is great for studying languages, sometimes I will make a argument out loud in English, answer to myself in French, and make a third commentary in Spanish, changing the languages I am using according to my mood.
19 Were you/are you a social Queen Bee in college?
No, I have always been to lonely guy who lives inside the library.
20 Are you a sunrise person or a sunset person?
Sunrise, when I had extra time and went running at 5 am, one of the best things was to see the sun rising while I ran.
