I have the little world of don camillo in a pocket version. Hearing you talk about it I must read it when I have the time. A friend of mine saw the tv series and tells me they are also fun.

Oh what fun Edmund Schiddel is! My absolute hands down favourite trashy writer. His best selling books were the Bucks County trilogy, about an artists colony in Pennsylvania. For a garbage person, he sure could write; and always such dramatically depressing endings.

Just when I think you couldn't surprise me anymore, you come out with a few jokes in a row which make do that ugly, horrible snort-laugh, which only comes from being surprised, amused and slightly disgusted all at the same time!
