@D&D Reacts This song was recorded in a studio, now there were no mic enhancements, no auto tune but there were layers, Barry's voice was recorded a few times and layered into this final recording, people often think it's auto tune because that's what they know, but it isn't, just layer after layer of Barry's voice then the final recording sung by them adding in the layers, they very rarely ever needed more than 1 rake at a recording, they were brilliant

Once upon a time something like this would pop on the radio in your car, and you KNEW that a thousand people were listening to it at the exact same time, no matter what was going on in their life or in thier day. NOBODY SAID, hey, I’d like to put on a bee gees song. It came upon you out of nowhere. RADIO is a sad loss.

The oldest sibling is actually a sister and she sang in the early days before settling down in Australia with 8 or 9 kids or something. Big and talented family 👪

Friend, listening to the Bee Gees is a direct trip to paradise, at that time they were the biggest headache for men, women simply melted for them, this video was recorded live in 1 take without arrangements of any kind only the orchestra and a microphone for the 3, plus the rights were given away in perpetuity for UNICEF, something never done by any singer and it has raised more than 12 million dollars. The record labels wanted to sink them because the song they released was inevitably number 1, the harmonies. What these 3 brothers did was and will be unique, they were capable of harmonizing with any rhythm they made, they were and will forever be geniuses, in addition to all of the above, they wrote songs for other famous singers. Talking about the Bee Gees is talking about talent, simply unique at 43 years old. Since I heard them as a child until today I think they are the best male group that exists.

Love this song and video but not sure where you are getting your information that this was a live performance. This was their video of the studio recorded song which was heavily produced to arrive at this sound and definitely not in one take. I love the Bee Gees and they are very talented, including in their skill at production.

I heard Barry Gibb in an interview just a few years ago, that when writing "Too Much Heaven" & performing it, that no other song from their repertoire had experienced something more spiritual that he couldn't explain. But it was beautiful hearing him speak about song writing in general. He said, "I also look for beauty in my song writing." & true form was very humble about it.

I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This would have been in our wedding.
Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Robin, Barry and Maurice (pronounced Morris)
Robin (Dec 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) passed away as a result of kidney failure.
Maurice (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) Passed as a result of a twisted intestine. He was in the hospital for 2 days. Barry said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. He left behind his wife, Yvonne and two children. Robin left behind his wife, Dwina and 4 children. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins.
Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. Barry stated that Andy lived the 'LA lifestyle' involving drugs, and he had heart problems. Andy left behind a daughter. The brothers wrote all of his songs.
Barry stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2023, he and his wife Linda will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.)
On a side note, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who turned 78 January 12, 2023. Maurice passed on the same day as her 58th birthday. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing.
At about the age of 2, Barry reached on the table and a pot of hot tea fell on his chest and arms. You can see the shine on his chest. His mom said he almost died, and he did not talk for almost 2 yrs. Skin grafts were not used in the 40s, so he was in the hospital for a long time.
They wrote all of their songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! I recommend the following songs:
    Staying Alive ua-cam.com/video/I_izvAbhExY/v-deo.htmlsi=eyCf1YX82i7bGaeL
How Deep Is your Love? ua-cam.com/video/XpqqjU7u5Yc/v-deo.html
    Closer Than Close ua-cam.com/video/m6XIdjEHLRs/v-deo.html
    One ua-cam.com/video/KRUeMgzOCCo/v-deo.html
    You Win Again ua-cam.com/video/KZY9oYSSjFI/v-deo.html
    Spirits (Having Flown) ua-cam.com/video/ONmVEJnxysc/v-deo.html
    Bodyguard ua-cam.com/video/Fx5XwIKCs3o/v-deo.html
Emotion (written for Samantha Sang) ua-cam.com/video/b_wTZjo9azk/v-deo.html (Destiny Child's was a cover. Nice harmony, but crazy video. Who pours bleach on someone's clothes?) Barry said he liked it. Can we say, "Royalties."
At one time, 5 of their songs were in the top 10. Another time, four of the songs that were written by them, for others, were in the top 5. A song that Barry wrote for Andy was #2, but then it went to #1, and the Bee Gees song became #2!
December 2023, Barry Gibb and 4 other entertainers, will be recognized for their contribution to the entertainment industry. Kennedy Center Honors. I'm sure this will be a very emotional time for Barry Gibb.
As children, Robin liked to set fires. The constables - (police) asked his parents to move or their sons would be put in reform school. Barry was a ladies' man. He kept rings for different girls. Maurice was quiet. He liked photography.

BeeGees are the greatest singers/songwriters in the world. No. Not just a disco group. Barry (the oldest brother) would get pissed when anybody referred them by that title. They wrote over 1000 songs. They started singing in 1958. (Just small boys than Barry 9 and twin Robin & Maurice were 6). They have hits from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and even into 2000. Barry is the bearded one with the beautiful teeth. Fraternal twins Robin and Maurice are the other 2. Robin is on the left. Mo on right. pure talent no audio help no retakes pure talent.

Nobody is going to like everything that is put out musically. Your daughter gives a genuine reaction about what she likes and doesn't like and that is completely fine. People need to realize that just because they like something don't mean you or your daughter will like it too, and that is ok. Keep up the great work and having these moments with her. They will last a lifetime in memory!

I heard this when I was a young teenager. It was like magic to my ears. It took me to another world-the vocals, harmony, melody, lyrics, everything. I ddn't get to see the video until recently. The video added a whole other dimension. It really made you feel like you were in heaven.

Loved that song since it came out. I was 13. One of the most beautiful songs ever written. Angelic harmonies. Berry is off the hook in this song. You? Great watching with you. You are one smooth guy. Oh and kids are kids. Good on you for exposing her to different musical styles. I can tell she's blessed to have you as a dad.

IMO... Gotta “BE WHO YOU ARE” (title of one of their songs), keep it real, and you’ve got my respect. Their little brother Andy Gibb was about 19 and starting his international solo career at the time Stayin Alive came out. He was soooo popular and gave his brothers hard competition on the R&B charts. I would love it if you and your daughter would react to his first solo and #1 I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR EVERYTHING.

It was Earth, Wind, and Fire. Also, Smokey Robinson sang like that. No harm. Its all about enjoying the music.

I love your contemplative demeanor as you listen to this, and the smile! These brothers were among the greatest of contemporary artists, and I see that you realize it in your expression. They never made a bad song, so I recommend all their work

"How Deep is Your Love " is another great love ❤️ song of theirs. Robin and Maurice are fraternal twins. The youngest brother's name was Andy. He did some solo music and looked the most similar to Barry. Please check them all out. You don't have 6 consecutive number One hits at the same time for nothing!
I am so glad that I grew up with this music.
Like the lack of interruptions in your presentation. ❤
    Thank you.

Here's a live performance of "Tina Turner Live in Wembeley - Rolling On The River 1080p Klara" Tina was an incredible performer, and she had a brilliant career, but she also had some pain and tragedy along the way. I always found her story inspiring. Mainly because my aunt was such a big fan. I think your daughter might enjoy this performance, as I said earlier, amazing performer 👌
I think I was around 28yrs. old before I started appreciating my parents music...music that I absolutely adore now ❤️ 😂

And isn't it crazy when you see one family with so much talent? And yet, it is quite common. My maternal side is all very musically inclined. Of us 5 kids, 4 of us sing, play piano and guitar, all from hear, yet my one sister is absolutely tone deaf. My Dad, god rest his soul, used to tease her and beg her not to sing her kids to sleep! lol great little channel you have here. New sub from AB Canada.
