I would've switched Gladiator with A beautiful mind. But still Russel Crowe. And I'm kinda missing Choi Min-sik in Oldboy.
If this was ten good acting performances in no particular order then ya this is a good list.
How about Jamie Foxx in Ray think about it he sang played a instrument, played a character with a disability, and had a southern accent and displayed a abused character. None of the characters or actors on this list did all that in there performance so how do you even compAre Jamie to any of these actors. That's talent with acting chops.

he must be kidding. DiCaprio tops half these performances. The poster just posted his own faverite performances weather he admits it or not. There is nothing impartial to this list. Most critics would have DiCaprio at the very top of the list for one performance or the other.
+Stewart Kee These all became their characters. That is acting by its very definition. I forgot I was watching all of the actors listed here and thought I was witnessing the characters. When I watch DiCaprio, all he does is scream and overreact in a way that can almost trick people into thinking he's pulling of an amazing performance when actually he is struggling to get into the character, there's much much more to acting then going mental all the time, just look at Heath Ledger, I forgot it was him. Look at Daniel Day Lewis, he was a different person.
Look, I'm not saying he's a terrible actor, he pulled off a great performance in The Revenant, I'm saying he's just terribly overrated, and nowhere near as good as these actors.

Daniel Plainview is performance of last decade easily in my book. And Russels Crowe Maximus put along with this DDL role, Ledgers Joker or Bardem Chigurgh is total misunderstandig. Still Your list contains some pretty good choices.
