- Hubsan X4 - Beginner's Jumpstart Guide [Tips & Tricks] is designed to help new RC pilots get a jump start into the hobby or provide seasoned pilots with some fantastic indoor fun when the outside weather is inclement. For $40 dollars you get everything you need to learn how to flying a remote control aircraft that is capable of effectively flying indoors or outdoors. On the other hand, if you already have sufficient flying skills simply push down on the controller’s elevator joystick, enter “Expert Mode”, and perform simple aerobatics.
“Hubsan X4 - Beginner's Jumpstart Guide [Tips & Tricks] will discuss the quad’s basics features, several modifications and advice on learning how to fly. So, if you are new to flying remote control airplanes and helicopters by purchasing the Hubsan X4 as your first model you will find an economic and safe way to learn how to master the skills of controlled flight. From there the sky is the limit!
First time pilots: Purchase the prop guard to prevent damaging your motors.
IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!!
Transmitter Stick Calibration - Mode 2: Put the two sticks to the upper left position & hold, then power on the transmitter. Rotate both sticks a couple of times in full circles. Then hold down any trim tab until the LED on the TX blinds red, signaling a successful calibration.

Hi Willie from Australia. Thank you for an excellent clip on the X4. I normally fly a Phantom P4 Pro, but I started out with a little Hubsan X4 and years later I'm still flying it to hone my flight skills and relieve the boredom on wet days. The X4 is an excellent quad with so much fun packed into a very affordable price.

I started out with the Protox Nano. It was fun. They break easily though. I have the X4 coming in the mail next week

I just watched your video on the Hubsan X4 and found it very useful. I bought one about two years ago and was discouraged by how difficult it was for me to control. Since then, I bought a tiny BWhoop B03 altitude hold quad copter and after using it, I feel much more confident guiding a quad copter. I'm ready to to progress to the Hubsan X4. Thanks for your tips. I especially liked the idea of adding the pull tabs on the battery to ease their extractions.

After all these years I still have my X4 and enjoy flying it mostly inside during the winter months when it's too cold to go outside. Top notch video! Your battery tape tip is fantastic, and I'll definitely lightly sand the connector to make it slightly easier to remove.

Norm H Norm, you are welcome. I fly my often although I have other models and quads, but it's such a fun machine no matter where you fly it. I hope you order extra props because they can get easily lost in the grass or behind walls/furniture if you fly in the house. Enjoy!
Willie Hill, Jr Initially no, but just ordered a pack of replacements. I do have the extra set that came with the X4. Any thoughts on the clear props that are advertised to be "tougher" than the originals?
Norm H Norm, I don't have any knowledge about the clear props. A set of them is so cheap just having enough on hand solves the problem unless you are crashing into things a lot.
Willie Hill, Jr Very good. Finally put my ego in check and installed the prop protector that came with it. Hope to upgrade to something a bit larger after my skills become a bit better, but will take my time.
Norm H Hey, Norm, there's no shame in putting on the prop protector and saving your quad from crash damage. I've been flying model airplanes/helis for a few years now so I didn't really need the guard on my X4 which is why I didn't mention it in the video. I think I should have although I do make note of it in the description.
