I just got back into quilting from about a 10 year hiatus due to health problems. I was SO happy to find you're still doing tutorials and still as jovial as ever!!! I remember you from your MSQC days and was one of the first people to purchase your shark applicutter. Thank you for helping give some strength through your passion for the craft!!
All the way at the end you toss out the idea of a specific fabric that you want to feature such as a panda. Just like that a switch is flipped and this 9 patch I’ve always loved because something different. Substitute a block with a baseball on a light blue background. Now you can do a patriotic theme or use team colors. Beautiful large bright florals, a pale colored fabric background and single squares in colors that match the florals. Unlimited possibilities. I love this channel. Even your one off comments are inspiring.
Thank you for sharing a no nonsense block…sometimes you need to have an easy peasy block to do. Lots of ideas and I’m a rule breaker when necessary. 🎉❤
Love watching, learning, and laughing with you, Rob! You always do a fantastic job and brighten up our days. Loved your "illusion of accuracy" comment today! Beautiful quilt and would make an excellent beginner project. Keep up the great work and we'll keep watching and chuckling. 😊
Hi Rob. I’ve been behind in watching and now that I retired this week. I’ll have time to catch up. I can’t wait to use your fabrics to make this beauty. 😊
Great easy pattern. I need this for my next one so to give my brain a little break. I am also a sewing rule breaker. When sewing in a factory with industrial machines I'm sure I exceed the speed limit. But to this day I've never run into sewing Police on breaking rules or exceeding speed. Breaking rules can lead to a different but just as nice design.
Rob you have probably been asked this many times, but I noticed that you have a metal seam guide that you use Could you let me know where I can get this please?
Since my grandma taught. E to sew and if she measured every seam I did and if it wasn’t right out came the seam ripper, breaking the rules makes me envious of those who do. I can’t complain if it wasn’t for her I never would be making quilts, but I’m learning finally that no one gives me a quilt back. Lol
I’m not a math person, so I absolutely break the rules when quilting. Excellent tutorial! Thank you!

I love the fabrics you use in your quilts. Never tired of clear strong colors. And love your rambling. Too fun.

I could never tire of rainbows. I'm a rainbow addict! Thank you so much for another fabulous doable quilt.
I'm with you - I love breaking the rules. I love that pattern! I think black, gray and white with a pop of color would be pretty too.

I'm a rule breaker!! I love these kind of quilts!!! Four patches and nine patches make some really cool quilts. Thanks for sharing!!
What rules?

Very pretty quilt. I also love your green sewing machine.
Love your enthusiasm! And there are good times to be "rule" breakers...
Love the colors!
I need to give it a go! Thanks Rob🎉
Great block ❤thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you for using basics that can be built upon. Enjoy learning basic building blocks to create with.
I love that idea. Thanks for keeping it simple.
This is a very good pattern and video. I think I can do this! Thanks Rob!
I did the mystery quilt and wondered how a quilt would look with just this block. I like it❤

LOVE breaking rules!!
Hi Rob. Thanks for sharing
Pretty 😍, thank you for sharing
It is boring if you don't break the rules. Love your quilts and videos.
THANK YOU ROB.
Love it!
I love this !!
Would have been nice to see the whole quilt
I love breaking quilting rules! It can be very liberating.
Rob you have probably been asked this many times, but I noticed that you have a metal seam guide that you use Could you let me know where I can get this please?
I don't consider myself a 'rule breaker', I just march to my own drum! ha.
😂
I had to break the rule about waiting for the end of the video to comment. 😂😂
Can you tell us about the quilt behind you? Do you have a tutorial or a pattern number for that?
I'd like to find that 1/4 inch guide that you are using. Maybe you can advise where to get one. Thanks 9:51
I love my 2 1/2” wide ruler it gets used a lot. Rules in sewing are guidelines😊
I don't break the rules, I just make up my own rules.😂
Rules what is that
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I don't break the rules cuz I make them up as I go along😊.
Took me 6 days to catch up on my email, but I am a RULE BREAKER!
❤❤❤
What rules?
👍❤️🙂
Love breaking the rules! Why is there a line if no one crosses it?
I love to break the rules so my seams nest.
Breaking the rules? Depends on what the rule is!
Everyone can't get a rule breaker, or who would bail us out when we get in trouble
Rules are MEANT to be broken...😋
Rules are only a suggestion
Rules were meant to be broke
RULES ? WHAT ARE RULES ? LOL, JUST KIDDING. I ONLY BREAK THE RULES WHEN IT COMES TO CREATIVITY, OTHER THAN THAT, I AM ON THE STRAIGHT AND NARROW.
I only break the rules I don’t like, lol!
There are no rules! The quilt police have been fired and run out of town which leaves us free to do whatever we like.
Rules??? What rules??? They are more of like guidelines... I believe I heard that somewhere.... like maybe a movie???? 😜😜( hint- Yo ho, Yo ho)
You have to know the rules, before you can break the rules
I’ve always been a “non conformist “…
Not so much rule breaker???
Rules are made to be broken….if people didn’t press the boundaries, this world would be really boring.
There are no rules.
