- Join me as we go through preparing the FMGC for an approach into Manchester using the ToLiss A321 for X Plane 11!
I am a real world Airbus pilot with thousands of hours flying the real aircraft and thought it would be fun to have a look at the new detailed simulation of the longest baby 'bus by Toliss. Hopefully you find this useful and it brings another perspective to your simulation. Any thoughts or comments are welcome!

I find your tutorials very useful, thanks. I also think it is really great the way you answer questions and add additional comments from viewers. I just bought my first ToLiss Airbus product, the A321. Best wishes
New subscriber here - studying the entire series and another thumb up for this great tutorial - many thanks for sharing your expertise :)
Really helpful. With a pro like you... everything will be ok.
Great sir, thank you very much. I found it super helpful
Glad to hear that!
amazing !!!
Thank you!! Absolutely great content
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching!
I think the aviation industry would do itself a significant favour by converting to metric measures. The mental calculations and assumptions become much simpler to do and would be more intuitive. Calculating minutes by feet, knts versus altitude, it seems like a real challenge to assume anything quickly.
Very useful, Thanks !
Thanks for watching!
Amazing
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi Cap. when do you active the Appr Phase option in the FMGC? in minute 12:20 in CRZ page there is the option in L6 but You never back to this page to activate.
Please do more videos about the AutoPilot in A321 Toliss! Thank you
Thank you for watching! More videos to come and I will do more on the autopilot in the next few days :)
Just curious how to make the cockpit a little brighter as seen in your video. For me the TOLISS A321 cockpit env looks a lot darker compared to yours maybe about 1-2 exposure stops darker.
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
Hello. When the wind is variable what should I put in the PERF page? Ex. VRB02KT
Hi Simpilot, probably a stupid question. How do I set the spoilers for landing? I use Simbit world A pilots life 2 and continually get hit for spoilers down ? I have the spoilers armed for the landing, Do you have a video on how to correctly set the spoilers ? This is for the toliss A320 & A321
Thanks for the amazing series about the A321!
I am not a pilot (although i wanted to) therefore i dont know for sure if im reading the charts right but apparently i cannot find any information about WSSS MDA and DH.
Does leaving the MDA and DH blank effect anything?
Hi, thanks for watching and I'm glad you're enjoying the videos! For MDA/DH it is usuall at the bottom of the approach chart, is that what you mean?
Thank you always for the educational videos. I just want to ask when should i activate the approach phase?
You are very welcome! Thanks for watching. Activating the approach phase can happen automatically or at some point before intercepting the ILS usually. Often shortly after 10000 feet but it is up to you!
Does this apply for the a319
Thank you very much for your tutorial! Would you like to tell me why is Mach .82 equal to 320 IAS? How should I convert the Mach speed into IAS speed? Many thanks!
@AviationFan Thank you
Hi. I love your videos!
I have a small question with the Toliss A321. I hope you can help.
When doing an approach on VATSIM, I program the MCDU for my planned approach.
Then a controller goes online and I get a different STAR and RWY.
When I try to change the arrival in the MCDU and insert it, I get
SELECT HDG/TRC FRIST.
What dose it mean.. and how can I change my START/RWY?
Thanks!
Hi, thank you for your kind words! This means you need to select a HDG (pull the HDG knob) and then you can change the arrival STAR, once it is changed you can do a Direct to a WPT (preferable) or re engage NAV. I hope this helps!
@@320SimPilot What a fast reply. Thanks! I'll try that!
How can you download Toliss a321?
319th Like for helping me fly the ToLiss A319!
Hi ! I'm the # 400 subscriber and I have a question: We don't need to set CSR for approach?
Thanks!
Welcome, thanks for subscribing and watching! No if you are doing an ILS it should auto tune the course. For VOR see my other video on that topic, but basically yes for the VOR course (not the ILS course!)
I’m sure the ATIS range in plane is too small. I often go for a runway and STAR then ATIS tells me other wise and I’m on the wrong approach or star. Unless in US airports then each STAR often goes to every runway but in Europe it’s like 1 star for 1 runway
In my latest live stream we had the ATIS give use the wrong arrival, it does happen! Usually from the weather you can get a good idea even before the ATIS but of course this has to be carefully checked later! Thanks for watching.
320 Sim Pilot thanks. I’ve only just discovered you channel so slowly catching up. I find it really annoying when you get to and airport that has 3 or 4 runways in same direction, wind is a strong headwind but you don’t know which of the 4 they’ll give you
does it have to be an ILS runway or can it be also LOC?
A LOC only approach is also a possibility, but if you want to fly a full ILS then select the ILS approach. If there is not an ILS approach available then perhaps your destination does not have a fully equipped ILS approach, in which case you will need to fly another sort, maybe LOC only (this would be a non precision approach meaning you will have to control the vertical guidance yourself like in my VOR TRAK FPA tutorial). Thanks for watching!
