Welcome to Harry's Workshop: / @harrykwastaken
People often go for the Quick 861DW for their first hot air station - but unless you have extensive experience in soldering, the Yihua will meet your needs and will be a pleasure to use.
I'm a huge fan of awesome products (you probably are too) so anytime I use something which far outperforms its competitors, I will make a video on it. The same treatment will be given to garbage products.
If your reading this far... your extremely attractive lol.
3minute Video that replaces 1 hour of research and he still thanks me for my time, you are the hero I need but don't deserve ❤
You just made my day 🥹
Love the straight to the point business... Keep up the good work...
Yesssss! I always hate it when people have long intros
I have a similar unit, the Yihua 2008D, which couldn't take a 0201 capacitor off a PS4, with it set at 500°C and 100% Air, with a thin angled nozzel tip.
This has made me look at more expensive units.
Yeah, I’ve seen this too - I got a quick 861 DW, and I really love it. For thick boards, you need consistent and high airflow with very high temp, so this is definitely not suitable for anything but phones
@@HarryKwastaken what made you choose the Quick 861 over the Atten 862?
@@RestoreTechnique I got a sale at my wholesaler, and got it for super cheap - they’re both pretty similar. I wouldn’t say one is better than the other…
This is 100k+ subs level of quality. I really like how you actually used the budget station for an entire year since alot of cheap chinese products work well for like a week then break down.
😆 that’s the greatest compliment anyone can give. I’ve been working on a new video for a long time - finally nearing completion
I have had this one for a couple years now and it's been nothing but solid its extremely worth having
Your level of editing is underrated, it’s quick and straight to the point and clean, thx for the rec!
I appreciate the kind words! I’ve been working on a new video for 3 months now, finally almost done 😝
Really enjoyed the video. Finally someone who used it for more than the 30 minutes, giving a real review. Subscribed.
Thanks man! I appreciate the kind words
Wow, it's a super straightforward video, and he called me really attractive. My day can't get any better. You're definitely getting my sub. Keep up the awesome work.
Thank you so much!!
Loved the video. Keep the honest info coming.
I appreciate it bro : )
I've just bought it now on Amazon after some research and because of this video ;) Great job ;)
Is this good?, iwat to buy one too
Seriously great content, loved this format and subscribed in hopes of seeing more.
Thanks man! I’m gonna post an absolute banger soon about CPU reballing
Your 25th sub here. Love the short intro and direct to the point. Keep it real 💯.
Thank you!
You just helped me make my purchase decision. Thank you!
This is how I like videos when reviews stuff like this.
Couldn’t agree more
Hahahhaha.... I literally typed in "best hot air station - budget" in youtube search. Thanks for the nice review....
Agree with other commenters, great video, thanks! Just typing this here for the boost in the algorithm.
Thank you so much!
This thing is slick for the entry price and use. You can do a ton with it. If you have add some more extractor tools and heat shielding methods it does just fine. Mainly for high heat resistant surface mounted components, if you want to do a port of types get low melt alloy and mix with the regular solder joints then extract with reflow on low temp so you don't melt the port. Thing does it all, mainly the tips are bit of a pain to get snug the first time you set them up.
Well said. And the tips are always super annoying. Thank you for your insight!
Short and sweet! New subscriber's thanks...
You’re awesome bro, keep up the videos
Thank you!
Awesome video man! would love to see more :)
Thank you!! I’ve been working on a lot of videos, and scrapping them until I’m satisfied. There’ll be a great video on the channel in about a month :)
I have the yuhira soldering station 930d (corrected 939D) I think it is and it is great it came with 6 tips and they work great still hold solder like new . I am think of getting a hot air station and like this brand.
I'd go with it - there's always Amazon's return policy if you don't like it...
Bro how do you have only 6 subs??
It will change very soon my friend 😅
Quick makes a lower end model with a 2 dial knob interface. 957DW+
No presets on it but really you don’t need them with a little knob action. The thing works great!
It looks pretty cool too! And Im sure it’s amazing. I wonder what the difference would be between 957DW+ and the 861DW. I’m actually currently using the 861- id love to do a comparison video - the knobs are a game changer
When is this comparison coming online.?
@@asadtarar4555 as soon as the next CPU video airs, a new video on flux will go live, and then a comparison video will follow :)
Hi there. I am planning on buyling the Yihua 878D. It is a two in one heat station, with a normal welding stick as well. Do you know if is it the same good as the Yihua 959D? Or you would rather get the 959? It looks like the hot air flow is only (650W) 50W less on the 959D (700W).
I’d try the 2-in-1 if your just starting out and plan on buying something a little better quality down the line. It will probably last you a year with consistent use then you’ll see some discrepancies. Amazon does have free returns, so if you end up deciding the 2-in-1 is not for you, you know the 959D works well
great video
Thank you brother
Love the video! I really want to get some of that clear flux, but I do not see the link in the desciption. I looked online for "Model Zero" clear flux but I am coming up blank....Where do you get the stuff you are using? Thank you!!!
I originall got the flux from a local dealer, but now the flux is out of stock everywhere - so I switched to another clear flux, which I honestly think is better, and costs just a couple dollars more: I’m currently using: UG-78 10cc solder flux - I'll be making a video reviewing this flux :)
@@HarryKwastaken can't wait to see it
And how are the inner parts of the station the electronics and how accurate is the temperature? 🤔
Is it still working??
Hi great video . I wonder how long this unit will last for consistent running?
Keeping it on 200 degrees celcius, for disassembling phones, it's fine for over 5 minutes at high air.
Nice video bro👍🏽
Thanks bro👍
Great video, agree with others that your level of editing is above and beyond and made this really engaging even for me who has ADHD. Just one question - what's the cheap flux you use? You said you'd leave it in the description but I'm guessing you forgot (or removed it later perhaps)?
Thanks man! I was using the 2UUL ZERO SC11 Soldering Flux 10cc 👍
just got the 959D, but just noticed the attachment part is similar, if not, the same as a soldering input. can a soldering iron plug into this thing?
Unfortunately no :( and it would be weird trying to change the air speed on an iron…
great video :)
Thanks Bilaal Bhai!
Hey whats up bro I just come across this vid today. Im thinking of starting phones repair more like back glass and then move on to more complex stuff. Will this be good for that correct? Thanks for your time new sub
Yeah, back glass is actually really easy with heat. All you need is the punch tool (Mechanic makes one called irocks) - some good flat blades, and a lot of patience. Get some housings of iPhone X, 12, 13 pro etc, and only use heat when needed. Let me know how it goes
There is a version that also has a soldering iron that it part of the station "YIHUA 8786D".
Should I get that if I'm new to this work?
I need to replace a bios chip on a hard drive and I want to do it myself.
For the price, if it’s just for one project go for it. But if you plan to use an iron and heat gun long term, I’d go hakko for iron, and a standalone heat gun. Best of luck
I own a Yihua 706, and it's a super bulky and heavy boy with a compressor, which makes the hose to the hot air "gun" really thick, instead of the fan with the cheaper ones, in handle, but it's a really capable and solid station that holds temperatures pretty well and is as easy to use as the one shown here. I don't know if the 878D is any worse in terms of calibration, works just as good (my friend owns it) and is less than half the size of mine, while having both the soldering iron and heat gun. It might have lower power to the iron heating element, it seemed to heat up slower. I think mine has 60W peak heating. Oh and also the compressor/turbine lets you use much smaller diameter of the heat gun nozzle. I do some SMD works and it's great. The model you said seems like it's similar to 878D, clicky buttons, a fan, lower power. It's also compact and the fan is quiet. Mine is unfortunately very loud when using the hot air, the turbine vibrates and makes my desk resonate with a deep tone. My favourite is the fact that all three settings are controlled by dials, so no holding buttons needed.
Hi, thanks for your video. I have just purchase the exact item because of your video, and have recieved it two days ago. It works great on melting soldering lead and taking apart my ESP32 board. But it struggled and was not able to remove one of the IC chip on my motherboard. I used 420 C for about 4 minutes and also 500 C for 2-3 minutes, still unsuccesfful. I wondered how you manage to take out SSD flash memory so easily and what is your perfect setting for temperture.
Did you try the big nozzle? Also try increasing the airflow - there’s a big difference between vertical and helical wind - and this is illustrated best with your case; try a bigger nozzle, 450 C and higher airflow and lmk how it goes. If it still doesn’t work, I’ll ask someone who knows much more than me 👍
If you are talking about a PC Motherboards thats probably because those usually have alot of copper layers. The chip is probably soldered to a huge copper groundplane which will suck up all the heat. For stuff like this u probably need an extra preheat hotplate since hotair will not be enough to get all that copper up to temp
My friend, what do you think about the RF4 RF-H2? compare to that?
Hello my friend, the RF4 seems promising - the design is similar to the Quick and is a great price. I just don’t know how long lasting it’ll be, but it definitely is a fantastic choice
what kind of clear flux did you use? I can't see the link - I've got this station in my shopping cart right now!

Sweet, any thought to what one should do to get into the trade? Where to begin?
I’d learn regular screen and charging port replacements for phones - and then get the equipment to begin soldering. Some donor boards are a MUST to practice on…
Hello just wondering if the air rework station still working ?
Yes of course! I recently did an iPad filter using it

Are bent tips universal ? Or do they need to be a specific measurement ?
They should be universal - if they have a Phillips head screw to tighten it, the bent tips should work for this station. YIHUA is good company but u get scammed bec amazon is overpriced
Don’t buy this even as a beginner, spend a little extra and buy one with fan unit in the station, best to buy RF4 H2 hot air station but buy it from china if you want it £60 or around 75usd.
The station in the video won’t do higher demanding stuff like consoles and laptops, I’m not saying it won’t do anything on them but alot of things it won’t handle, there’s even a review on UA-cam about it and he shows how bad it is compared to a atten one

good luck trying to replace the fan or even the whole handle because there is no replacements.
Yes this is completely true! The 959d should not be so long lasting logically, but I’ve seen it works very well for when your just getting into soldering. I never cracked this guy open, but now that I just bought a Quick 861 DW, I’ll definitely have a look 👀.
