- Some Star Wars Jedi Survivor gameplay using the purity perk, which buffs incoming and outgoing damage making the lightsaber and other weapons more realistic. I have to admit, the perk can be annoying but it makes the combat really satisfying and fun. I definitely recommend using the perk once you have completed the game as it makes it almost a completely different combat experience.

Dying to Rick the Door Technician was probably the best way to finish this video.
I'm just glad there wasn't a force tear that made us fight two of them at once. I would have never gotten 100% in the game.

on playstation you either block and press triangle twice to throw them separately or hold triangle to throw them together
Purity is a hell of a drug
I think this is what the real Jedi experience looks like.. Perfect to include it while also having accesibility modes (a.k.a. Grand Master Diff Level and similar)
What they needed to do was make the game challenging while keeping the lightsaber as OP as it's meant to be. But that's extremely difficult.

Wish they'd given the true story bosses more health. One-hits every time is a little underwhelming lol Rayvis be like "OK THATS THREE HITS CHILL"

Honestly I was watching this clip and thinking how boring the fighting is, compared to JK series. Maybe it's this guys style but all he does is throw the light saber...
Jedi Outcast was peak lightsaber combat. It really stinks that nothing's ever come close since.
@@Sangth123its cool form a mechanical standpoint but from a visual standpoint it the animations were wonky af. It was unavoidable as a game that runs on an egine built for thirdperson + lightsaber direction and movement both mapped to the peft analog stick.
Its hard to sell the immersion with today's graphics. Maybe someone in the future can think of an innovative lightsaber combat but for now, i kinda get why its hard for devs to pull it off

part of the realism is that nobody could ever beat rick the door technician fairly, well represented in this video
I was running along the hallway "immersed". I shot like three shots at the end of the hall while sprinting when I saw a lonely trooper and only then noticed the "boss" health bar and the name and he was dead in an instant. I just kept running to the end thinking "What the hell did I just see".

I’m currently doing a GM run with purity and warrior active. The entire run, no exceptions. And I must say as a sekiro, ds3, and elden ring achievement obtainer, this shit is hard.
I beat it exactly how you said it. It does make some parts hard but after dying a little you figure out how to get each part done. Other parts are easier at times too

Right there with ya lmao. It does make Radahn look like cheese with the extra damage, but at the same time...just one time you miss a parry block or dodge your dead. So its like fighting Radahn for 60 hours
And for those who read this n dont know, Radahn before his nerf is the hardest boss in Elden Ring.
@@DoogieRoxx yea I’m one of the extreme few who beat pre nerf Radahn. I actually ended up flawlessing him because he would just melt me if he touched me

I think this is what the combat should have been, its quick, fun, punchy, makes you feel powerful, but you cant get complacent because stuff hurts you just as much. It reminds me of force unleashed on the wii and thats perfect

I'm more impressed with the graphics and frame rate he's getting... the PC port with my RTX 2600 graphics card couldn't dream of this, or at least not with the shit PC port we got.
the only issue is that you can litterally pass each boss phase with one hit, i feel like if the bosses maybe blocked more? im not sure how to remedy it

I think that instead of balancing the game by making enemies tank the lightsaber slashes they could have made so that the melee enemies are more agile and thus harder to hit and the shooting enemies try to overwhelm your deflecting while trying to gain distance from you, but they could also make enemies with lightsaber resistant armor that forces the player to wait for an opening to execute a precise takedown of sorts. I'm just writing some ideas from the top of my head, I'm not a gamer nor game designer but I think that these games could put a little more effort in immerging the player in the universe they're set in order to not remember the player that it's just a game all the time.
Cortosis is extremely rare, and Beskar is virtually impossible to get your hands on if you're not mandalorian.
Yes but I didn't mean armour that is completely impervious to lightsabers but rather only enough to create more resistance so you would need to press it against the enemy for longer like you're using a chainsaw OR maybe hit a few times in the same place to weaken the armor OR stab it directly to penetrate it OR maybe even aim at the parts without armour, there are a lot of options, you see? It would add some more complexity and give more options to combat.
@@pauloraposo8674 Lightsabers are weak against shields and body shields aren't that uncommon.
Funny enough, Jedi Outcast largely did all of that. Melee enemies all wielded lightsabers that could block your attacks while also being very agile, Stormtroopers with blasters always tried to get away from you or surround you to hit you from behind (necessitating that you always stay on the move so all of them are in front of you where you can deflect blaster shots), and later on in the game, enemies wearing Cortosis armor are introduced, and it’s best to deal with them with the Strong stance.
I do still think Jedi Outcast has superior lightsaber combat to Jedi Survivor, not to say that Survivor is bad.

Jedi Grand Master with Purity is truly one of my own biggest challenges. Respect for also taking on this challenge bro. Try doing Fractured Endurance force tear on Shattered Moon lol. Its the one where you gotta destroy 150 B1 melee droids and blaster droids spawn at the 75 mark. Its next to impossible to get past the bomber wave. Took me 3 hours and like 200 deaths but persistence always prevails.

The stormtroopers don't seem to get dismembered much, which is why I assume there's more droids this time around.
Dismembering the droids effect is not good. You can clearly see the whole body swap and facing the wrong direction and with just standing animation.
Geez! Those Flame Troopers had NO chance.
I do feel like there should be some special cases in purity- for example the security droids should take more hits imo, unlike humans they could withstand dismemberment- so maybe they could take a couple hits? Idk i just feel like the big old hunky massive security robot should absolutely take 3 hits to kill- without purity he literally keeps coming for you without either arms.
I mean think of luke vs the dark troopers in the mandalorian
1 hit for human and B1, 2-3 for any other if they couldn’t block (like Ep3 security droid of Grievous)

realistically the movies have fights occur slower for dramatic effect, but keep in mind force users are capable of enhancing their physical capabilities with the force. so they can move much faster than the average person. making most encounters quite fast for an experienced Jedi/sith. revenge of the Sith, Yoda vs palatine is probably the best example of this.
Or Yoda vs Dooku.
Purity is amazing.

I’ve been doing a Purity/Warrior run, no exceptions. This shit is hard. There are some moments where I’m an absolute poet with these perks on, and others that I can’t seem to catch a break. Using Jedi Knight difficulty is even hard in this case.

It’s not a full on combo but you can force push mid way into attacks. It helps when you’re trying to break someone’s guard but you don’t want them to parry your next attack

Yeah sure, im sorry if this is unhelpful tho since theres not much to it. But i basically use photo mode in game and turn F-Stop to the max. Then i usually just find some enemies in the background and get a low - ish angle next to Cal and then yeah 👍
