I feel like the flat colors on textures for an NPR look doesn't get talked about enough, thanks for including that!

Beautiful! I've been trying to create this kind of style for over 10 years now. My issue is that I want to do it the lazy-man way, for example, I want the smears to appear without sculpting or manually distorting the model, like if a character gets too close to a camera, it should be deformed by some sort of boundary like a lattice.

Now to just remove the obvious 3D look of certain models (example being the gundam animation you did where it's very clear especially on the feet and shins that it's a 3D model). The only thing I can think of, as someone who has done niether 2D or 3D animation beyond the basic bouncing ball, would to force stretches and remove reflections from the mesh. But I don't even know if that'd work or not.

Greetings, im glad you are opening this Chapter, in Blender they arent good tutorials on this, but i found a video that does this really good, but like most videos they dont do a tutorial on it. I would like to ask if you could consider making tutorials for 3D to 2D, its a highly requested in the animation sceene, now that many animation studios switch to 3D and make the animation look 2D, heres the video that is done good but as mentioned its not explained or shown how its done : ua-cam.com/video/bRoOYfwgIPI/v-deo.htmlsi=viMjgD6Eq5m1jIw7

XD, I was in the front raw during that presentation. I'm working on such content BUT, the thing is, it's not technicaly hard... the main problem is that you have to abandon a lot of the benefit of using 3D to animate, like camera motion. And to get a good result, it's all about getting better as an animator. It's really a matter of crafting than technology or technique. I hope I made myself clear XD
Anyway, I will definitely explore this more. My final advise is, keep it simple, you don't need crazy complicated shaders or technology to get a good result and focus on the animation and the quality of your poses.
