Hi Pierrick, thanks for sharing your personal experience about this. I am 50 years old and work 30 years in the IT industry. I am an animation/modelling enthusiast in Blender and I am learning it and doing it as a side project in my spare time. Btw. thanks for your courses. I sometimes dream of changing careers, but I guess it's too late :)

mate, why not give it a shot anyways? 50 isn't old, people don't really retire in this industry (unless they want to).

I love your videos and your tutorials! This is EXACLTY what i needed, im 2 year of of art school and i landed a volunteer position with an animation studio as a junior! Ive learnt a lot but now i am dabbling into animation and i have had amazing mentors and colleges willing to help and give me a shot. I do agree that now there are more jobs in the industry! You got my flame burning even brighter now! ( I plan on making a portfolio and demo reel and take the experience ive gained from my volunteer job and land a full time job while still doing my volunteer position)
Love you Man! Keep up the amazing work!

It has been uplifting to hear your humble words in this topic Pierrick! It's been so insightful, specially when you talk about the challenges of this path. I'm currently struggling on the "be visible" side of things as I am lately mostly practicing to get better in animation and has been rarely sharing my journey on social media. But your tips here give me a better idea of where and how to direct sharing my work. So thank you so much for this video!

Yes and no.... The thing is AI will allow to work faster and increase the quality... But people with the initial skill will alway sbe better than people just dropping promps.
I don't know how much AI is gonna be a thing we use, but a good animator with AI will be better than a random guy with AI

It's damn hard to find anything at all in Germany, except for offers from Ubisoft or Crytek, which have very high requirements. It's hard to find out where the indie people are hiding and searching on various Discord servers hasn't been successful either. So I will try to box my way through as a freelancer. Have you actually worked as a freelancer or have you always been lucky to be employed?
