    Doing this job myself at the moment. It's not as easy as made out here. Main trouble is wiggling the exhaust heatshield and manifold out. Quite tricky indeed and significantly more difficult with AC pipes in the way.

      Probably too late for you now, but in case anyone else reads this, if your car has Aircon it's best to remove the radiator fan/housing (just two small bolts at the top, one electrical plug on the nearside and an attached wire on the offside, and it slides up and out), much easier to then remove the heatshield and manifold out!

    Great video, did you drain the oil and coolant first or just prepare for a bit of spillage?

    • @How2FixIt1
      @How2FixIt1  Місяць тому

      Thanks. I drained the coolant and replaced with fresh. Just put a oil catch pan underneath for the oil leakage and topped up. Thanks for your comment.

    Hello! My coolant tank has gt oil mayonnaise inside and hoses keep puncturing. The engine is z16xep. Do you think its the oil cooler or the oil pump gasket. The oil and coolant level stays the same. Its just the coolant tank that gets oil inside

    • @How2FixIt1
      @How2FixIt1  3 дні тому +1

      It sounds like it’s pressuring the coolant system. Probably head gasket I suspect.

      @@How2FixIt1Yes, it could be, but there is no overheating, no bubbles in the coolant tank, the oil is clean, the temperatures are okay, the coolant does not smell like gasoline. Most of the symptoms I do not have

      Yes more often than not it’s a small leak. Just keep your oil topped up.

    Hi, would this be the reason why I loose small amounts of oil and most the coolant after it’s been sat over night? Thanks

    • @How2FixIt1
      @How2FixIt1  11 місяців тому

      If it’s central to the engine bay where it’s been parked on the floor. I would say so! Pop your head underneath the car in the morning and see where it’s wet. Thanks for your comment.

    hello my astra leaks at the centre and some traces of oil at the coolant bottle is this the issue

    • @markf4720
      @markf4720 4 місяці тому +1

      Probably. Check the oil on the filler cap and dipstick, to see if there is any "mayonnaise" indicating water in the oil - if so it might be your head gasket. Oil cooler is the easiest and cheapest to do, so try this first. If the problem remains it could also be the oil pump gasket on some models.

      Yeah, but _how_
      It seems like the oil dipstick keeps it from being removed, so unless the oil dipstick has to be removed too, then it seems like I’m overlooking something that should otherwise be obvious
