Flywheels have been a separate build of blasters forever, and the successor of the AEG style blaster that existed with the Stampede, Swarmfire, and Vulcan. But more recently, it seems AEGs are coming back, and the Colonel Wasp 76 is the best one yet. Uses standard Worker Talon magazines, full auto with a comfortable rate of fire to be single shot, two different spring loads, and with some slight tweaks it gives you all the accuracy you'd expect out of a Springer...with full auto to back it up. This Nerf MP-40 gives you everything you could want, at a comfortable price tag.

AEBs? About bloody time ngl. I knew arisoft was gonna get into that, also it is a V2 gearbox so... Get the system up and running with little effort, fire selector nerf blasters, that works.

If you hadn't heard, Sillybutts is prototyping an AEB platform. The CW76 has great performance for the price, but I'm hoping that a bullpup conversion becomes readily available for it. Argus modworks in Taiwan has shown off an angled Talon through grip bullpup conversion, but I don't know where it is in development.
Bullpup configurations are basically the optimal set up for AEB's in my opinion, with where technology is at the moment. I would pay anything for an AUG or Tavor style of blaster like this.

I absolutely love mine. Hobbyist quality Nerf AEGs have been incredibly dodgy in my experience but this one has been rock solid. It's not over engineered, it's just a basic aeg with solid performance. That was exactly what I wanted.
Obviously I'm good at videos because I said the completely wrong thing on how the blaster works, and then kept it in during the edit. The plunger tube moves forward, which compresses the spring against the back of the plunger tube. Then the plunger tube hits a release on the plunger rod, all during the forward movement of the whole system, and that releases the spring tension and slams the plunger rod forward creating air pressure. At the full forward movement of the plunger tube, the large red pusher breech has pushed a dart from the mag into the barrel and sealed behind it, and all of this is timed together to fire a Dart.
But apparently nobody was paying attention, because nobody has corrected me in the comments lol.

The Vulcan is also an AEG but it uses chains so it’s a dumb blaster. But dang this a crazy blaster, you could literally sneak up in someone without having to rev up your flywheels and you can still spray full auto at them, so beneficial and the rate of fire is pretty high as well so that makes it really good.
I thought the Vulcan was, I was doubting myself, so I decided to google first.
Also the Vulcan with a 100 round or 200 round belt it is still light enough to where if you're a adult size human you should be able to wield it without the tripod like a rifle without many issues I just wish there was some more mods for it

AK74M is Now more accurate and has less recoil
Honey badger Has 50% more recoil, and has less accurate
Mateba does 50 Damage instead of 42 and kills instantly to the head
A couple of guys in my nerf group have gotten their hand on these and they seem pretty sweet. The blaster is very large tho. When I first got my hands on it I ended up putting the magazine in closer instinctively due to how close to the grip most magwells are. I totally missed the magwell by a couple of inches. One thing that did scare me from this blaster tho was some of the issues that one of my friends had with it. He kept getting feeding issues with it (granted it could have been due to the tachis) and a piece of the plunger tube ended up breaking off and getting around the plunger tube. I’m hoping that that is something that is wrong with his and isn’t a problem with the majority of them but it’s definitely something to keep in mind.
I've done thousands of rounds through this thing. I'm pretty confident in it, but anything can happen.
The stock has broken on mine, don’t be suprised if yours does too, the stock point is weak AF
As an airsoft player its fun to see nerf bros adopting aegs.
I understand the stock is supposed to be comfortable, but as someone who likes learning about weapons, especially WW2 technology, the MP40 with an M4 stock looks wrong

Glad to see you used the buffer tube ring to tighten it. I have seen some people have difficulty figuring that one out.
I'm really interested to see how AEG(B)s develop in the nerf community. This could be the way forward for accurate full auto nerf guns, Still considering getting the firefly though. I'm not really into nerf anymore but the stuff the community is pumping out is drawing me back in a bit.

I'll wait for the improved version, my friend got the first firefly, and he's had problems with the breech and plunger, but now the firefly being sold is updated to address those issues.

Finally. That thing has been OP for a while now.
I own the QWK edge which is also an AEG/AEB and although it is pretty picky with darts(I mainly just use bamboo darts and red worker gen 3+ darts and they work fine), I absolutely love it. If it wasn't for the realistic silhouette and colors, I'd primary it as much as I could. AEG/AEBs have the benefit of springers(not having to rev and having better accuracy and power) and the benefit of flywheelers (automation and rate of fire). Although AEGs are already a big part of airsoft and gel blasters, they could also be huge in foam blasting if people keep making blasters like these.

Normally I wouldn't care for the MP40, but ROTT made me really like it. Still not on the same level as the Tommy gun or the AK for me, but still, it's cool

I bet it wouldn't be too hard to make it look somewhat like the MP-41 (Essentially an MP-40 upper receiver with an MP-28 lower receiver.) It might take a little bit of work to model something like it but it would look awesome

"Pro" belt feeders would be neat.
I personally would say this is more based on the MP-41 the successor to the MP-40 which simply was a hybrid and gave the weapon a wooden stock.

I rerouted the wires into the grip, because I wanted it to look more like the MP40

I reroute the wire back to the pistol grip and use it without buttstock. Its Life changing.

Not bad, couple coats of matte black spray paint so it fits in with the rest of the collection and this one actually piques my interest for shooting my SMT

testing the accuracy of a blaster at least in my opinion shouldn't be user aimed, rather just fixing it on a mount and see how much dart deviation it has

And has potential to be tuned more. I mean, there might be a better, stronger motor for it you could pop in. I'm barely know anything, but I'm fairly certain that's an AEG motor.

I got one in the pre-order. Absolutely love my colonel Wasp 76! Brought it down to 150fps for my nerf club games with a worker adjustable scar. It does 170fps without the scar with Max Pro darts with the stock spring. Lots of fun to use in a nerf war, and talon compatible!
With those settings, does it go any higher than 150, or is it in that 140-150 sweet spot?
@@jacoblewis437 it does a 170 fps with no scar with the low power spring. Had to give the worker adjustable scar a lot of twist to get it down to 145fps. With the high power spring it does 200+ fps. Its quite powerful.

as an airsoft gal, never really got why nerf guns can't be dry fired, airsoft ones can be just fine people have run hundreds of "rounds" through AEGs without any damage or notable downsides, anyone care to help me understand?
The springs inside these are much stronger than what you'd get with an Airsoft Gun because foam darts weigh so much more than plastic BBs, so when that energy is just absorbed purely into the shell instead cushioned by propelling the dart it can cause a lot of damage quickly.

@C Pte Pardon me? I specifically noted that I intend to follow all laws regarding imitation weapons. I intend for this blaster to be no different in appearance to the multitude of airsoft MP40's that exist. If you have any advice on how I should ascetisize this blaster, I am open to suggestions.

there needs to be a priming handle, just like an actual MP40, it doesn't even need to go forward, just pull it back.

Do not search up airsoft battery, because there is no airsoft battery, its just called a Tamiya connector lypo battery also, AEG grip is no such thing, its just a normal pistol grip and airsoft stock, also no such thing, its just a stock that can fit a hollow buffer tube, jtlyk
