Hey guys and welcome to todays video... So let me know in the comments what your go to vitamin c is and what ingredient you would like to see featured in this series next.. Love you all x
I need this series! I’m an esthetician and loveeeee experimenting with products, but times have been tough and I can’t currently buy a ton. So this will help me choose the best products and I don’t get disappointed! I love your videos and MAS brand! I always agree with you and your opinions and I never agree with other skinfluencers
I adore this chatty type of video... Always my favourites
Oh thank you so much hun thats so nice of you to say and these are my favourite type of videos to film. love x
Great video, as usual! Always learn something & love your honesty. ❤️
Oh thank you hun and glad you enjoyed.. hope your having a great start to 2024 x
Rob, of course we want more of this series!! You present information so beautifully! I thank you for including all these vitamin C products. Living in Canada, I have to purchase what’s available. Even ordering from the US is not always easy. First the USD compared to our CAD exchange can be quite significant, and then add shipping and duties😮. It can often triple the cost. I don’t think the Geek and Glow ships to Canada, so I’ll check out what we have here.
I really enjoy videos like this. More please!
Thank you so much Hun and more coming up :) love x
As always a great, information packed, easily understoood video. Thank you! I was quite late into the skincare game I must admit. I was basically a moisturizer and go kind of person ( shock horror at the lack of spf). In my 50s, again late to the game, I discovered UA-cam and the wealth of information available and so began my skincare journey. When I first started it was all The Ordinary products and far to many of them lol. It was a case of, if they say its good I will slap it on. Forget the 12 step program I had like the 50 step program. Going on holiday was a bloody nightmare! I then discovered the Timeless Vitamin C and used that for quite a few years up till a few years back when I discovered Geek and Gorgeous Vitamin C. That was the beginning of the love affair. I love the texture and the formulation, results are obvious and far cheaper than the Timeless. I live in Malaysia so unfortunately we have quite a bit of tax on imported skincare and makeup so Geek and Gorgeous was even more appealing. Im 68 now and feel like my skin is the best its ever been and I attribute that to the Geek and Gorgeous Vit C and their Retinal...oh and the spf I wack on every single day without fail. Thanks for this great video Rob xx
I use Mad Hippie's Vitamin C serum, mixed together with a few drops of their antioxidant facial oil. I also use either the Glossier Super Pure serum in the morning, or the I'm From Vitamin Fruit Serum, both of which have niacinamide. I had a bit of a hard time finding a Vit C that didn't irritate my skin, or leave it looking greasy, and that wasn't too expensive. I know there is some controversy about whether sodium ascorbyl phosphate delivers enough benefit, but this combo leaves my skin brighter and not oily. Thanks for your helpful and positive videos!
Fab informative video 👍
Thank you so much hun :) x
Thank you very much, because of your videos I am using Argereline morning and night, can I use vitamin c with the ordinary argereline in the morning?
Timeless! Been using it since Angie HotandFlashy first recommended it and my skin has been glowing ever since. Love your channel and all these product reviews. Could we do growth factors next?
Of course hun, thank you for the video suggestion.. sending love x
I received my C glow and A game 10 two weeks ago. Loving them so far. Waiting for my TO products, can’t wait to add Argireline to my routine
Yay I hope your loving them as much as I do,.. sending you lots of love x
Hi Rob, love your videos so much! Want do you think about Perricone Md brightening serum? I have the brightening serum c ester as well as a C ester daily brightening & exfoliating peel.
Thank you.
Hi hun, thank you so much for your support... I havent tried it but I love the look of the ingredients list so I might buy it and give it a go.. love x
Would love to see more comparison videos. It helps me make better choices. Appreciate it.
Thank you so much and there will be more coming up x
Rob I ordered the Geek & Gorgeous vitamin C on your recommendation and it's amazing!
Previously I've only used derivatives because I have very sensitive skin and didn't want to spend a lot incase I couldn't tolerate Ascorbic Acid.
Starting out slowly with C Glow and also with A Pad. My rocacea prone skin is usually pink and dull at this time of year in Scotland but it actually has a real glow just now. Thank you! ❤️
OMG this comment just made me smile so so much.. thank you for sharing and I am delighted its working so well for you hun.. love xx
I like these types of videos. So thumbs up👍
Awww thank you so much Hun and so glad you enjoyed it xx
Great video! I have a question. I bought a mini of the naturium vitamin C serum and after reading the ingredients noticed that it has gold. According to some sources it can be a skin irritant, and I wasn’t sure I should use it since my skin often reacts to products which is disappointing. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks!
I'm using the Beauty of Joseon 10% ethylated ascorbic acid serum with centella in it. It's a pairing Rob has previously raved about. I have to agree my skin has never looked better and it causes zero irritation. So gentle I love it!
Yay I'm so glad it's working for you hun and it's a beautiful product for sure.. love x
I’m always trying out different Vitamin C serums. Currently using the Naturium one and am quite pleased with it. It’s a great alternative to the Allies 20%. Though the Allies one does have Naturium beat in terms of cosmetic elegance IMO.
Your link in Garnia takes you to a clothing link-
Love love love your videos!
Oh gosh so it does, I dont know how that happened but thank you for letting me know and I have corrected that now :) x
I used Timeless for about 6 months I had an issue with how oily it was and could never use on my chest because it broke me out. Saw your video on Geek and so I thought i'd try it. I am loving it and so is my chest! Thank you for telling me about Geek
My pleasure hun and thank you so much for watching x
I love vit c as an ingredient but I never found a product that blew me away….. until I found the Numbuzin one! Omg my skin glowsss! I also have a professional vit c (l-ascorbic acid)powder I love putting in masks and oils. The Ordinary powder is definitely a close dupe at a bargain of the price, but it did oxidize much faster than the professional powder. My mom is obsessed with the Naturium serum, and I do definitely like it and used it for months until I found Numbuzin, however I didn’t like that I had to resort to using PH Strips to check oxidation because of the natural color.
Great video! What do you think about the timeless vitamin c 20%?
Hi hun, I love it but its strong so I would say avoid if you have sensitive skin.. its now available here in the UK which is great but its not available in the EU so it depends where you live.. love x
I use the Timeless Vitamin C. It is cruelty free, etc. award winning, and comes in both 10%and 20%. I use the latter and love it! It is a bargain, too, and comes in a small travel size.
Such a great call and I love the 10% for my skin as the 20% is a little too strong for me but its an amazing product x
I wish they ship to the netherlands.
Have you ever done a Mad Hippie brand review? I can’t seem to find anything. Thanks
Hi there, greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦 I also love the Greek and Gorgeous vit C - can't buy it here, far too expensive but I got it when I was in England last Sept. Fabulous product for me ❤
Yay I am so glad you have been able to try it though :) x
I don't think I can get Heek and Gorgeous in Canada, but I really like the Timeless Vit C .been using it for years now.
I love timeless thanks so much for shouting them out x
I use mizon vitamin c . Its got 19% ascorbic acid. It has no fragrance and quiet a good price point. I get mine from lilia beauty in Australia.
Love the getting straight into it Rob. ❤
Thank you so much hun and glad you enjoying the new intro :) love x
I had a G&G C glow and I had it 6 months before it even started to turn a little yellow! I was rotating between C E Feurlic and that. G&G is the best!!!
Oh thats amazing and its the freshness which I think makes it the best in the market xx
I use the Garnier 10% Vitamin C Night Serum because I like buying in physical stores and it's easy to find. Id like it to be unscented though...
I agree I think an unscented version would be better but I think its so much better than the 3.5% one and your right being able to get it in physical stores is a plus for sure.. love x
I look forward to trying some of these products, but not the LaRoche-Posay because of the denatured alcohol. I have found the Maelove Glow Maker vitamin C is very good without the irritation of the Timeless 20% vitamin C.
Hi hun, how are you? I have been loving so much from maelove they should get more hype for sure.. love x
I’m using the Naturium Vitamin C at this time and I’m so happy with it. In the past I had such bad experience with vitamin C products. Tried different ones even pricier ones and they made my skin itch. And the smell and texture were horrible. So I gave up and thought vitamin c was not for me. Then a couple of months ago I decided to give it a try with Naturium since I heard great reviews. And so far it’s great. No irritation and it feels great on my skin. And my skin does feel brighter.
Yay I am so so glad its working so well for you hun, thank you so much for sharing and sending you lots of love x
I think those lists you mention are manipulated. You're so right in pointing out how bad the top-listed brands are - I do so agree!!!
I am sure some of the lists are for sure.. thanks for watching x
I love Isdin vit.C melatonin beta glucan and gentle peeling solutions in small glass ampoules. it's like 10 of them in a box. very convenient way to use.
Thanks for watching and sharing x
I always enjoy your videos. I want to try Allies of Skin 35% Vitamin C. I know it’s expensive. The formulation appears to be worth the price since it doesn’t contain water. Have you tried this product from Allies of Skin?
Awww thank you so so much hun thats so kind of you to say.. I have tried the allies 35 % and I loved it.. like you say the formulation is wonderful but the price point is a little up there.. I say if it works and its in your budget then its totally worth it xxxxx
I've repurchased the Naturium vitamin C SEVERAL times. It always gives me that vitamin C glow and NEVER irritates. I always end up going back to it and I'm never disappointed. I'm trying the paula's choice THD one soon!! I'm only justifying the price because of the derivative they're using. You won't find another THD ascorbate serum at that concentration for that price.
I agree with you the formulation of the paulas choice one means I think its fait for the price but you right the naturium one just delivers... love x
Love that u start with ur Fave! Curious if Skinceuticals cost like £40 rather than £150 - would u still prefer Geek & Gorgeous over it? X❤
Oh good question and I would still go for geek and gorgeous as I think the freshness is key.. love x
@@MadAboutSkin thank you! Always love your helpful responses to our questions ❤️ xx
I love Timeless vitamin C. Tried others but always go back.
Thanks for watching and sharing x
Isn t vitamine c geek&gorgoeus will be oxidize soon? Because it has a flacon, it won y be 15%??
Timeless Vitamin C is my choice. I always buy them when there is a sale. Shipping cost to Canada is expensive though.
Thanks for watching and sharing x
Im struggling since i have combo skin. I prefer vitamin c is water based and comes in flacon. Which brand has good vit C is lightweight and does jot oxidize 😔😪
I found that the littlextera riceberry vitamin c face serum gives my skin more glowing and evens out my pale skin tone. It also reduced my fine lines. Now I use it consistently in my skin care routine. One more thing I noticed is that it helps wounds like scratches or marks from blemishes recover more quickly. In the AM, before leaving for the office, I use rice berry sun screen and moisturizer on top of the serum. Before this, I tried minimalsts serum, but it did not give me any good results. Now I'm super happy with my current skincare routine, and I intend to stick with it for a long time.
Thank you so much for watching and sharing your thoughts x
What are your thoughts on Vegreen Vitamin C 20% Ampoule. I started using it based on one of your recommendations a while back. Do you still think it’s decent?
I love it so much.. its not in this video as its not a bestseller, but I hope it will be as the formulation is amazing.. love x
Thanks Rob, I love it too!
Vitamin C is not for everyone...so if you don't use it or can't afford the very best don't think that your skincare game is not good. listen to your skin and follow a healthy lifestyle. I tried many and my skin rejected them( tried all expensive ones too). By the grace of God I still have good skin thanks to my genes and simple but effective skincare regime... most products are high end which I can afford as I don't use makeup so I saved money for the skincare. So invest wisely when its comes to skincare.
Thanks for watching and sharing x
@@MadAboutSkin Thank you for some great advises about the brands. Really liked the brand skin1004 before watching your video I wasn't aware about the brand😊
My pleasure and I'm so glad the brand is working for you.. they are one of my favourites
Hello!!, benton has a New vitamin c serum With glutathione, please a review of it
I havent seen that one but I will check it out.. thanks for sharing x
Geek and Goreous is in pipette packaging. No airless pump going to oxidise it ?
Because its mad fresh it doesnt need it.. most airless pumps are actually useless as they let air in so I think going for a fresh made one is better than a less fresh one with an airless pump if that makes sense.. love x
Any info regarding the Bubble vitamin C?
I love it and think its a great option.. very gentle but great in the long term.. hope this helps x
Indeed labs vitamin c. I loved the consistency. I loved the matt look. But totally bad for my Acne prone skin. Previously used geek and gorgeous. Loved it, but it wanted something less shiny. Oily skin girl. Thinking about nuturium or numbuzin. Anyone ?💗
The numbuzin is totally not shiny on my oily skin so that might be the best to go for.. love
I’m currently loving the Stratia vitamin C but it’s so expensive for 30ml. So beautiful formulation, it’s anhydrous so no water and dies down like a silicone powder almost, but doesn’t make things pill afterwards of course.
I agree with you hun, its a great formulation but your right the price has been going up a lot recently which is a shame.. sending love x
I’m curious now. Been looking at the interface for the growth factor plus the other ones and dont know if other products have better or as good formulas for better pricing
Please can you review the minimalist vitamin c
I will check it out x
Thank you
@@MadAboutSkin I love it so much, so pls kindly review it. EAA is so good for my skin unlike THD that break me out all the time. I hated the propanediol base of Ordinary, Niod and facetheory EAA. It is the closest formula to the original hylamide vitamin c serum before they reformulated to the propanediol base. It's even lighter than the hylamide as it's water-based. I just wish they make 20%. Very gentle formula. 15% EAA and 1% E and Ferulic acid.
I’d love to try the Geek and Gorgeous C-Glow serum but it’s not easily and reasonably accessible in the U.S. Bummer!
Oh thats such a shame and I hope that changes in the coming years as they grow as a brand.. love x
What are your thoughts on medik8 c-tetra and c-tetra luxe vitamin c serums ?
I love both of them but prefer the original rather than the lux as the texture is better :) I hope this helps x
Thanks for sharing your thoughts ❤️
Sorry another question - would u know the percentage of vitamin E and feurilic acid in the geek and gorgeous serum? Wanted to compare percentages to other serums xx
I dont actually and I cant find it online but I am sure if you ask the brand they will tell you as they are super transparent.. love x
@@MadAboutSkin thank youuu x
I just purchased the Numbuzin vitamin serum based on your video the other day.... would you suggest another Vitamin C with it? Or should the Numbuzin be enough?
Hi hun, I think to start it is enough. You can always add a vitamin c alongside it in the coming months if you want more but I would see what results you get with the numbuzin.. Hope it works well for you hun.. love x
Thanks so much! Luv your channel!🥰
Bubble day dream is that a dream. Bliss has a vitamin c with peptides too
I love bubble so much, really enjoying their cleanser at the moment.. hope all is amazing with you xx
@@MadAboutSkin I just luv bright colors, but ther products r amazing!
I used the Geek and Georgous vitamin C, it made my skin so bad and full of spots. Even though its been over a week since i stopped using it, my skin hasn't recovered.
Oh I am so sorry to hear that and it sounds like a reaction to one of the ingredients.. it will calm down but when this happened to me with another product it took a couple of weeks.. sending love x
You may be sensitive to LAA, is not suitable for everyone. Take care of your skin for now. In future, you can try minimalist they offer 10% and 15% EAA which is gentler esp. their 10%.
Speaking of misleading percentages ... I really wish the ordinary would let customers know the actual percentage off copper peptides in their serum, instead of the misleading "1%", which refers to the "peptide complex". They are usually better about clear communication.
I agree with you hun, I think brands need to move on from these 'complex' percentage scams as lots do it, the most famous being the inkey list with their retinol x
Hapoy weekend everyone
Happy Weekend hun x
So can we use vitamin C with copper peptides then Rob?
Yes you can hun :) if in any doubt you can buffer between the two with something like a hyaluronic acid serum. love x
Does anyone have any thoughts about the Clarins Bright Plus line? It contains ascorbyl glucoside and is supposed to target dark spots.
Hiya, I havent actually tried it but I will look into it.. would welcome anyone else thoughts on it though
@@MadAboutSkin Thanks for your reply Rob. Have been regularly watching your channel for quite some time now - love the information, no-nonsense reviews and your energy! :)
I think ascorbyl glucoside (AG) is very stable and not very effective. For effective vitamin C derivatives try EAA, THD or SAP. Even MAP is too stable and not as effective to me as SAP. I can't use THD though as it's comedogenic for me, but a lot of people use it without issue. I use LAA or EAA and I have used SAP in the past. I prefer EAA to SAP
@@lollybabe08 Thank you for your reply and that information - much appreciated! It's definitely a trial and error process!
Is the ordinary vit c for rosacea skin?
Its fine but just patch test first to make sure it works for you x
When is the MAS vitamin C coming out? X
OMG I would love to create one so watch this space :) love x
🌸
Happy Friday hun x
Geek and gorgeous is not stable enough, yes it is made fresh but it goes bad very fast :)
I am not a fan of La Roche Posay products. I’ve tried several of their products (cleansers, moisturizers etc). Did not care for any of it. The moisturizers irritated my skin. 4:01
Thank you so much for watching and sharing and it think with the price of their products going up there are a lot better options out there.. love x
Have you tried inde wilde vitamin c serum?
I havent hun, would you recommend it? x
@@MadAboutSkinI haven't tried it myself I was thinking about it because ingredients wise it rivals very expensive vitamin c serum as it contains combination of l ascorbic acid+vitamin e+ferulic acid +niacinamide+hyaluronic acid
I've tried the LRP vitamin c and absolutely hated it. The packaging was so bad. It oxidized very quickly and left my face with a yellow tint. Not to mention it stained everywhere as well. Definitely not worth the price
I have heard this from so many people which is disappointing when you think of the price.. thanks for sharing xx
I love tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate. I use allies of skin
I love the allies one so much (hate the price lol but the formulation is amazing) love x
@@MadAboutSkin I only buy when its buy one get one free,
Didn’t you say numbuzin number 5 serum is the best vitamin c serum? Now it’s completely removed from your top ranks? Why is that so?
This is a video on the Best-Selling vitamin C serums and my thoughts on them which is why it didn't feature.. I still love it and use it daily .. hope this helps xx
Me too! I used it thanks to your recommendation and I am not looking back! Thanks for your clarification. I was a little confused with this video initially when you have not mentioned the holy grail numbuzin number 5 serums 😂
