I've watched probably 20 videos on generators to be hooked up to power a home and this is first one I've seen that even touched on, much showed how to, changing the bonding. I have the 9500DF but have yet to get it set up and this video gave me the last piece of the puzzle!

    Thanks for the content.

👍👍👌👌 Well done! I got a 7500 watt portable generator about 7 years ago, and have used it during several power outages. It is gasoline powered, so I have to be careful about running the carburetor dry after every run. I also use only ethanol-free gas in it. The 30 amp power cord plugs into an outdoor connection plug, and can power up to 6 house circuits through a manual transfer switch. Last summer we had a wide area outage for 3 days. Finding a source of gasoline to refill my generator became a bit of a problem because most of the gas stations were also without power. So, you must also think about where you are going to get gas or propane when you run out.

I always have a few jerry can and like during the winter storm where we lost power I tried to run the generator no more than 8h a day. However in my next house I will install a large propane tank for hot water and cooking but also for the generator. Look like you know how to operate and maintain your generator properly. I also cycle my stored gas yearly in my truck to make sure doesn't goes bad. Thank you for your comment.

You can keep the wire inside. Just remove it from the neutral, put the nut back. Remove the nut from the ground, attached the jumper wire to the ground and reinstall the nut. That way the wire stays inside and you don't risk loosing it or damaging it. It's what the instructions say to do anyway... Thanks for the video!

Thank you for your comment, actually you are right, makes more sense to keep it inside. Thank you for the feedback!.

Wow, that’s a really nice generator. I like the dual fuel option and remote start.

What if you want to plug something into the generator while it runs at the same time connected to the inlet? Do you need a neutral-ground bonding plug?

You can't have both in a generator, it is either bonded or floating. I have a floating one for my house and an smaller and more portable bonded for tools and such.

@@BUTTEWORKS thanks I had no idea. Going to float the neutral on my 11500 this week. It’s connected to the house exclusively via 50 amp inlet.
