I eliminated fast foods, sugars, coffee, greesy foods, anything starchy.went into veggies, grilled chicken, salmon, avocado, eggs, fruits and shakes its been a long journey ive lost 230 pounds i was 396 pounds and now 186 pounds.i feel great at 41 years old like a 14 year old kid lol no stress no anxiety.
I started a low carb program 3-1/2 yrs ago. I found it to be the best way to control eating without feeling like I am on a diet. Over the 3-1/2 year journey I was able to lose 65# never really feeling that I was restricting myself. I would keep track of my carbs eaten per meal and total at end of the day. When I got to my present weight, although I am still not thin I decided I had gone far enough for awhile. I let down my guard but still in the back of my mind knew what was low carb without charting or recording. I am very happy with eating low carb and I’m satisfied with my weight lose. I am still careful to watch what I am eating and adjust my meals mentally if I I have gone overboard with any one food. I have gained back some but not a great amount to make a difference in clothes. I am so glad and very satisfied that I discovered this new way of eating healthy. I know I have come a long way and I don’t intend to fall back.
I made the brownies with some chopped walnuts on top. After they baked and cooled I put some sugar free whip cream on it and it was really good. Nice little guilt free dessert!
Found this online: They found that those people who said cilantro tastes like soap share a common smell-receptor gene cluster called OR6A2. This gene cluster picks up the scent of aldehyde chemicals. Natural aldehyde chemicals are found in cilantro leaves, and those chemicals are also used during soapmaking.
This recipe looks delightful! I'm going to make it for sure! One note to your viewers. Be careful of the sugar free chocolate chips (and chocolate candies!) you purchase. Many have maltodextrin in them. This has a glycemic index of over 100, almost twice that of sugar. It will raise your insulin more than sugar. I found that out the hard way. Many of those frozen deserts and sugar free Reese's peanut butter cups others that have come out have maltodextrin in them, so dissapointed! "Your body can digest maltodextrin quickly, just as it does sugar, so maltodextrin is useful if you need a quick boost of calories and energy. However, it has a GI ranging from 106 to 136, higher than table sugar. This means that it can raise your blood sugar level very quickly."
Congrats to all the winners! And Mayra, I am absolutely loving your recipes so far! I'm having the Teriyaki Chicken and Rice bowl tomorrow and I'm so excited for it! @@LowCarbLove So I tried your recipe for the Teriyaki chicken and rice bowl and I loved it! Thank you for sharing your recipes with us. All the recipes that I have tried so far, I love.
I made the chocolate brownies a couple of years back when you first posted. It was delish. I made it in a springform pan to bring for dessert(diabetic home). Made fresh whipped cream. Was similar to a tort / gooey brownie. So yummy!! All of your recipes are bomb. So delicious and flavorful! I cant eat cilantro! Taste soapy and metallic. I always sub parsley and scallions or chives. You are such an inspiration! ❤️I have been enjoying your channel for quite sometime so Ty beautiful!! Congratulations to all of the winners!!🥳
Great video with awesome meal ideas thank you 😊 For some reason cilantro tastes like dawn dish soap to me - not that I eat dawn 😂 but I’ve washed fruit with it and didn’t rinse well so I’ve tasted it haha - I wish I liked cilantro 🌿 but I just can’t eat it 😩
I make a dish using sausage, like ground up sausage w/peppers, onions and seasonings. I also am not a fan of mushrooms or avocado but someone once showed me how I can include these in this dish...you chop up the mushrooms really small (for those who are like me and don't like the texture) and add avocado and actually COOK IT w/the dish! It is SOOOOOO goood! I add all kinds of seasonings including garlic & herb, turmeric, paprika and meat seasoning and maybe a small amount of pepper, I'm not a fan of hot spice stuff. I use pink salt instead of regular salt so for this dish I don't mind using just regular seasonings. (No, I do not add salt) Just thought I'd share a recipe!
Cilantro initially tasted like dish soap to me. In high school biology, we all tasted straps that were the same and some people said it tasted bitter, some said sweet and some sour, etc, showing different people perceive flavors differently. I was different than most, perceiving bitter
In our house, we love cilantro! When we have it growing in the garden, our kids will literally pick some and eat it plain! I never understood the whole soap thing either. Cilantro is awesome!!
Just joined your channel! Love how down to earth you are! I have “dieted” for 40+ years UUUUGGGHH I think your low carb keto lifestyle might be my answer. Ive been slowly doing that concept anyway. I LOVE Cilantro. But, when I had Covid I lost my taste for a couple of weeks. When my taste started coming back it took several months for it to get back to normal. During that time cilantro did have a little bit of a soapy taste. So I finally understood how it can taste like that for some people. Fortunately I finally got my normal taste back and cilantro tasted wonderful again! PHEW!!!!! :)
