    The process of building a house in Ghana can be so complex. The steps typically involves typically involves finding a Suitable Location, getting necessary permits, home designing, construction etc.
    It is for this reason that some people opt to buy homes in Ghana instead of build from the ground up.

    My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana and other parts of Africa, from the food, to the culture, to the lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and other African countries.
    My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.
    Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.

    A house can look so good till my ocd eyes look closer and then I see uneven tile with grout spilling out from between them, cabinet doors that are not lined up and sucky paint jobs. Do painters there use something like a painters tape to make sure you don’t paint in areas you’re not supposed to? My builder had a time with me and my complaints but at the end I got exactly what I wanted to the standard that it should be.

      @@obaaAkos02 exactly like how dare you point out me slacking. Then they expect to get paid. I let everyone know what I wanted and if it was not to my liking they were not getting paid. I told them if you know you can’t do what I want then don’t waste my time or yours. I had a few try me but when they learned that I meant what they said they actually did the work.

      Standard finishing in Ghana. Always has been poor but people accept it for some weird reason! They build these houses with a kitchen at the top and basement with no natural light and call it luxury.

    With the right design and contractor this definitely shows you don't need a huge plot of land in Ghana to build a great house. This is the first house I have ever seen in Ghana with an actual basement and I have always wondered why basements are not a thing in Ghana.

      Kenya 🇰🇪 has had basements for years. In the usa 🇺🇸 houses have basements to protect against the extreme weather conditions because they use cardboard material to build. Every building, including the few with brick exterior is 90% card board so in tonadoes etc they're blown away so basements are the safest places to run to for safety. The down side is that if you live in a hurricane or flood prone area, you guessed it. This low lying area needs no basements.

    The house and the interior are EXTREMELY beautiful but what of the surroundings ! That is the problem I have when I see homes in Nigeria and Ghana the location where many houses are being built is so ugly !! .You will see a luxury mansion and then on the street unfinished buildings of all sizes, strange looking structures made out of plywood and corrugated sheets , a plywood kiosk selling eggs and cigarettes, dirt road , straggly bushes and clumps of grass everywhere !! .I grew up in Nigeria but , living in the US/ UK I have really come to appreciate the neighbor hood a house is located in . We live in a really beautiful development in America . Because it was built in the 80s our houses are surround by mature 40 foot trees and every kind of shrub and bush you can think. In front of every house is a green lawn , all the greenery attracts birds .We love taking walks in the evenings . The lack of planning of these neighborhoods is a real negative !!

    • @josephbrown1573
      @josephbrown1573 11 місяців тому

      I agree look at the first minute of the video a jumble of houses with no clear plan or lay out . In Nigeria you will usually see town planning in the older neighborhoods that were built in the 50s/60s/70s . Even the civil servant quarters that were built for low and mid level civil servants were beautifully laid out and it is obvious that there was a well thought out plan drawn by an architect / city planning , outlining every streets and plot before a single foundation was even started ! This house has everything , it is extremely luxurious but the location WOW!
