    It is truly gratifying to hear both of you open up about your journeys of awakening to the hard realities of Canada and the West in general. You demonstrate the importance of doing the right thing: leaving as far away as possible, as soon as possible, and never looking back.

      Thank you for that message🙏
      That was a big contributor to us deciding to start a UA-cam channel to document our journey. Because we know there are sooo many others out there just like us, stuck in the downhill spiral of Canada and we wanted to show others that it is possible to come from struggling to get by in Canada to perusing a better life far far away, and the best way to show them is to Actually go and do it!

    Good for you both. I moved here from Canada almost 5 years ago. Agree with everything you're saying. $6/month for mobile, Canada it was $120. Great place for guys here too. Girls here really like men, especially foreigners. They smile and give you the time of day. Opposite of Canada. PPl here have a great mindset, very gentle. Driving you'll get used to it. Takes time to understand how it works here, best thing you can do is stay calm. I'm in Saigon. Enjoy Vietnam!!!

      Yes! The phone costs are SO MUCH better here. When we went to the phone company for our first time we couldn't believe it when she showed us the package list. I think we paid about $7.00/person compared to $100-130 each back home.
      We noticed that too! Alot more people are friendly to us here as compared to in Bali. Sometimes local even make an effort to come and talk to us and generally greet us with a smile. We love it here so far!
      Thanks for the comment!

    Vietnamese American here visiting Vancouver couple months ago, I totally agree with you guys things are more expensive in Canada now that it's depressing. I appreciate you for loving Vietnam. Please be generous with local Vietnamese they are working for a living too. So many times I have seen westerners that are very stingy with the lower prices in Vietnam . Learning some Vietnamese phrases will make local people love you more. Love to see you have fun in Vietnam. And trying local foods.

      No please do not bring the US tipping culture here. It’ll drive up inflation n eventually hurt the workers too. Also i think it will worsen the Service in the long run. I tipped 18%-20% the last time I visited the US, but those were the worst services I received in my life. By Far.

    The situation you describe in canada is more or less the same as it currently is in England, just with higher costs and more cold rain. Thank you for your honest take on that. I'm already committed to moving here but wife wants to test the waters first so we are coming in october next year for a month. if we enjoy it then everything will be sold and we will be moving. William is a very handsome man! You have the right attitude. As a fellow Canadian who spent years as an expat, I want to share that you are on the right track. Travel is the best gift you can give each other. Canada could be better, but it did give you a foundation. Every country is struggling. The rich will get richer regardless of who is running the country. Our choices of leadership could be better. Don't let yourself get tribal. Cynicism is like an infection, so don't let it spread. Take care of your physical and mental health. The way to win a fight overseas is to avoid getting in one. Please don't take unnecessary risks. That includes your fellow expats. I am sure you have run across a few characters. If your spyder senses are tingling, trust them. Predators running from their past lives are looking for their next victim. Be cautious. Finally, it is ok to have a bad day. Be gentle with yourself. I am rooting for you. Enjoy the adventure and cherish each other. I want to share a clip from Conan Obrien that you might find applicable. ua-cam.com/video/AcF1OoWqXBc/v-deo.html

    I have been thinking about moving for a while now, and i guess the major thing that is holding me back is income.
    Wether its Vietnam or any other place, there is always this doubt about not being able too pay your bills and get around.

    • @expatescapeofficial
      @expatescapeofficial  4 місяці тому

      Absolutely, Thats the priority. But if definitely helps if you commit to it entirely and sell literally everything. Then your bills become very very little. Basically just your travel/medical insurance, and your travel costs to leave. Everything else like cell phone plans, rent, groceries are all very affordable once you're in country. Living for 1000-1500/month for 1 person is definitely doable here, maybe even cheaper if you have a spouse to split the rent and scooter rental with.
      It's a very stressful leap to take, but it could be the best one you ever made. It surely was for us.

I've talked many people out of joining the Canadian military.

    • @expatescapeofficial

      Thats the Canadian health care system for you. Wait a year or more to have an appointment, and when that day finally comes they just write you a prescription for another drug to counter act the last drug they prescribed. These days we look towards traditional Chinese medicine over western medicine every time. They actually look for the root of peoples problems and the try to fix them as opposed too pushing big Pharma down your throat for a bigger pay check when all they're doing is putting a temporary bandaid over the problem rather then trying to fix the cause of it. And getting Who knows how many people unintentionally hooked on their pills in the process.
      I can't blame you there, if anyone asked my honest opinion about signing the line Nowa days, I would have to steer them away from it. I have nothing but respect for all my brothers and sisters still serving, they are just following orders and doing their jobs. It's the orders coming down from the corrupt at the top thats the problem.
