Really appreciate your honest reviews. Like you, I stop listening if I learn a review is sponsored. I so appreciate your channel for its honesty. Keep the reviews coming.

This is one I'd wanted to try for quite a while. I recently came across a bottle for a ridiculously low price on a fragrance group. Thanks to your review I bought it and I love it. I agree with the vanilla possibility. It actually comes across to my nose as the parts of Lira that I like, without the parts I easily tire of. I checked fragrantica and it's the same perfumer. Awesome blind buy for me.

Thank you for saying a perfume does not have to have a great opening AND a good dry down to be full bottle worthy! I feel disappointed when I read reviews & people will write that they won't like or buy a perfume because they won't wait through the opening. I have learned this as you have, and I've smelled quite a few fragrances that I just live for the dry down. So many people just don't have patience and/or the desire or ability to train their nose.
I found your video/channel because I had ordered decants including Fatal Charme and Pikovaya Dama. As one who loves iris, aldehydes, and fresh/clean/laundry-like scents more than sweet or gourmand veering fragrances, I was surprised to find I loved Fatal Charme more. And I thought it had a slight lactonic quality to it, so I went to UA-cam to look up reviews. There it was, as you describe - buttery. I wonder what gives it this buttery effect on the dry down. The opening is challenging yes, though unique. But the dry down is addictive. I would like a bottle, but its not at the top of my list. Maybe a larger decant one day.
Thanks for the great video and I will be checking out more of your channel for sure!

Could it be orris butter? Orris root as it is listed in Fatal Charme. I find a very luxurious butteriness in Artemisia from Penhaligon's as well. Try it if you get the chance. And wait for the drydown:-)

I so agree about gifted bottles. I don't understand how Sebastian can get away with a negative review on a gifted bottle because I have heard reviewers say the brands would ban you if you did this. I do not believe anyone who reviews a free bottle is telling the truth, how could they? I love iris in perfumes too! Have you ever tried Carolina Herrera Iris Empire? I love it but it took me forever to find a sample then a bottle.

I ended up getting a decant of Fatal Charme after watching this and wow, I really like this a lot. I sprayed a few times on my wrists and that was too much. I have just about killed my nose because at first I thought I was sort of anosmic, maybe they use aroma chemicals? So I added another spray, bad idea. I agree it is so sophisticated and unusual. To me, I get the powder and I think the aldehydes are what smelled at first like sort of a laundry, spray deodorant type of scent but light and well mixed with powder and orris. A reviewer on Fragrantica said it smelled like a vintage deodorant spray, powder and iris. I would agree. I can smell a little licorice/anise and sweet vanilla or maybe that is the orris butter. I have a lot of iris perfumes but I have nothing like this. I am already wanting this! I am going to finish my decant as you do and not go crazy! Thank you! oxJulia

Yes, finish the decant and maybe after that you will have a desire for other fragrances. My decants can last quite a while, even if I really like them. How fun to hear that you bought a decant after watching my video.

Really enjoyed your video. I definitely agree on waiting a bit for full bottles. I sampled Atelier Materi last Spring and made myself wait til the end of July for my bottle. I actually purchased it late June, as I got some sort of coupon code for the retailer, and then I put it away til end of July for my birthday! 😂 I am even thinking of rebuying their sample set since I loved it so much, or at least 3 or 4 of the samples I want to experience again (Bois D'Ambrette, Narcisse Taiji, Poivre Pomelo and their new release Cuir Nilam which I didn't try yet). If money was no object I would have at least 3 more full bottles from them 🖤

    Hello Kiki,
I think you are doing very well at managing those spendy urges.
I think if it gets close to your birthday and you still want one of those bottles you should allow yourself to purchase it.
But... If your enjoyment of fragrances is about trying new scents all the time and not really about collecting or wearing the same fragrance over and over then your likely on the right track.
With the Iris, you could choose to only bring one in if another iris goes. If you still like the others you have more, then you don't need the new bottle.
    Have a good day!
    💛~ Jenn

Actually the best iris which I've ever tried - it is "Irisss" Xerjoff! :) Absolutely amazing, beast mode(till shower basically) and just simply an art. I love iris and have kind of big collection at home, often I mix this Irisss Xerjoff with another one just to add longevity and power. Crazy expensive tho, I waited till black friday when xerjoff had good discount, but it worth the money for the real iris lovers. Have you tried? :)
I am waiting for my bottle of Fatal Charme, blind buy, never tried

I find Irisss too hardcore and icy for me. I got a sample not long ago and just could not stomach that one. But I know it is considered one of the best.

Fatal Charme reminds me of a very expensive gooey rouge french lipstick that you just want to lick off as long as you can smell it. I don't get babywipes at all. I adore it, it's sooo beautiful! 💄 💋 ❤

Where do you buy the samples?

    • @thehonestperfumereviewer6336
      @thehonestperfumereviewer6336  11 місяців тому

I usually swap samples with friends. Sometimes people give me samples and sometimes I get a few in a shop, with or without me purchasing something. I also buy some within my community. Very seldom am I willing to pay full price for a sample. Now they are actually being sold at a lot of places.

These niche fragrances need to become more affordable. If “essential parfums” can do it , so can many more. The ingredients in most cost pennies ( chemicals ). It’s us 🤡🤡 in the community that allows them charge these ridiculous prices by buying them. I can make 100 ml of ambroxan with some chemical additives at home for about 3 euro. Same as escentric molecules !

I think a lot has to do with packaging and design. The top alone must cost a lot for many niche fragrances.

@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 I’m sure the bottles are not too bad when buying in bulk. Some of the Roja are way overpriced. And they are primarily made for geriatrics I think. All I can smell is pee and biscuits from most of them 🙊
