Glad you are enjoying your work and routine, Kicki. Ylang 49 and Lys 41 are two of my most “beast mode” fragrances.

I actually tried it again today and had a different experience. I just had a drop on my hand last time. Today I found it more potent and I got some of its earthiness and patchouly that I never noticed before.

So good to see you again! I'm heading back to Europe on Tuesday and I cannot wait to smell some of the wonderful selection there! It really is incredible compared to what I have access to here in the midwest (US) and this time I'll spend a day in Helsinki which is a first. I have a long list of fragrances to try but I hope I can find something I love to remind me of the trip. Thanks Kicki. I'm sure you're incredibly busy right now and it's really nice to see you again.

Happily Benjoin Boheme is no longer discontinued! they have brought it back but in a different bottle - one that looks like the main line. 😊

Kicki, I almost always have the same, my faves are often the ones I don’t like at first sniff, and especially can’t make a good call if I’m just going off paper!

Arquist is a great house. Nanban is something about a sunken ship, fun mythology, really special fragrance. Sydney rock pool is great and indigo smoke is a cousin of Nanban to me.

I personally think that you have all the rights to give a feedback. Customers perception is key and they are king. If this person came up with excuses of having too many jobs, well tough luck. He or she could have hired someone to assist. What left me dumbfounded is that he or she cut ties with you instead of using your feedback to improve and making you the super user. Sounds very unprofessional to my ears.

Hei. I have been thinking about something you often mention, that you feel you know a perfume and then get bored, or you feel you are done. But what about perfumes you have had for a long time, like Iris Prima? I guess you know that perfume very well, and you are still not bored. And this is where it gets interesting for me, what is the difference between these two categories? You have two fragrances, you know both, one will stay in your collection, the other you get bored with. What is the x-factor? I really would like your opinion on this😊

Really interesting question! Let me think about it. I don’t think I could bored with Chypre Palatin or Le Lion either. Might need to make a video on this topic.

I love that you talk about wearing fragrance to office. I work at office and there are plenty of mornings that I stand in front of my perfume cabinet and wonder what to wear or how many sprays.

I grew up in Hungary where we eat all sorts of dishes with poppy seeds, and Moschino Couture smells exactly like sweet dry poppy seed filling and soap to me, sounds bad but I like it :) Don't feel bad about the shop owner, conflicts exist and you handled it like a grown up, he on the other hand... And if he knows you he should have known there was nothing malvolent and/or personal behind your critique, you basically just delivered the same kind of direct, thought-through criticism you always do (towards yourself as well), and that's what we appreciate so much and why we are here!

Do you still like Rosendo Mateu7? Would you say it is masculine leaning? From my own experience and watching others, it takes an average of 3 months to be comfortable with the technicalities of a new job , then three more months to know or decide if it is the right job.

I do still like it a lot, but rarely do I reach for it. It is ambery and I sometimes get a little bored with ambers. It is pretty sweet and heavy on the patch. I find it totally unisex.

Thank you for mentioning the thing about 3 months. Someone told me 100 days and that is close.

Are you talking about the TV-series? Yes! I know about it. There is a guy on that show that has a shop that sells niche perfumes and he was the one that was so rude at that perfume expo a few weeks ago. He is one of the TV hosts on the show.

I've seen UA-cam videos by different people talking about it. Didn't know there was a show. He sounds like a jerk!

I used to purchase DiSer from Gents. Their shipping and service was good. Hopefully thats not the retailer who's working multiple jobs? (can't be right? I think they aren't small)
Penhaligon's Artemisia sounds interesting. I will keep an eye out for that.
I have a decant of Benjoin Boheme, it was alright but didn't really move me. The new bottle packaging is a big downgrade imo.
About the particular retailer being sensitive, I did noticed there are a few perfumers/ retailers who seem to live in an alternate reality where they think negative review (including constructive criticism) should not be allowed. There are some who even go to the extent of making fun of these differing reviews or even blocking people. I think these reeks of unprofessionalism and other issues. When you put out a product, expect it to be criticise especially by customers who paid money for it.

No, it wasn’t Gents that worked multiple jobs. But was disappointed in what they brought to the Expo. Only one brand, Widian. Was expecting more.

It's so nice to hear about what you have been doing and wearing! Of course I don't know what sort of review you wrote but for a business owner to take offense and treat a customer in that way is terrible and I would imagine the disregard they have for you will reflect on how they treat other customers and could end up costing him in the long run. There is no excuse in retail sales, none, to ignore a customer. I worked high end retail and in management my whole adult life and this I know to be true. I can't wait to wear Chameleon! It's far too rainy, cold and icky still for me to feel like it would work. oxJulia
