@@FHK_88 this is true, however, a set decision can only be made after learning a true/factual message. Conclusions can differ from person to person on a single truth/fact alone, so just imagine if the Roger pirates got it wrong. Just a thought, nothing more
Can't wait to see the elephant fact next video. And honestly it's funny how all I could think of is the poneglyphs being like ancient egyptian hieroglyphs and you bring it up a little while after
i thought that was the idea the whole time? When robin noticed roger's message in skypeia she realized that it must mean that they need to be brought to the end and layered over each other to craft the true rio poneglyph. I'm pretty sure she said that herself, which is why she got so motivated and hopeful about collecting them and continuing with the crew on the journey to the end of the line. If she really hadn't made any progress with the rio poneglyphs by this point then she'd probably be really dismayed.
If the void century was highly technological (which there's alot of evidence to suggest it was), they're lucky the road poneglyphs didn't say 12 degrees north 15 minutes west by 34 degrees south 20 minutes east Imagine finally finding them all and translating them and they're GPS coordinates in a world that doesn't have a concept of latitude and longitude
The thing is, with paradise and new world compass doesn't work. So there is no north south west or east in grand line. Working with constellations also needs compass and sextant which won't work in grandline Log pose just points an island to the next. So...
"RIO" is derived from latin and means "river", from a western perspective. Seems interesting as it would imply both navigation and a flow that leads to a destination.
I personally like to think that the Rio poneglyphs tell the history of the void century in a very short and concise manner, and then the other poneglyphs may give a little bit more detail. For example, one of the Rio poneglyphs may say "x group did this in this year" and then another poneglyph may talk about x group and what they were like, giving some context for the Rio poneglyph
Speaking of the ancient weapons in the Poneglyphs in the skypeia arc they mentioned a God of Waters and if you swap the letters of Imu around to Umi which means sea so Uranus has been hiding in plain sight as the ruler of the world Imu is Uranus which ties into Greek myth as Uranus was a ruler of the gods. My evidence for is this Most linguists trace the etymology of the name Οὐρανός to a Proto-Greek form *Worsanós (Ϝορσανός) enlarged from *ṷorsó- (also found in Greek οὐρέω (ouréō) 'to urinate', Sanskrit varṣá 'rain', Hittite ṷarša- 'fog, mist'). The basic Indo-European root is *ṷérs- 'to rain, moisten' (also found in Greek eérsē 'dew', Sanskrit várṣati 'to rain', or Avestan aiβi.varəšta 'it rained on'), making Ouranos the "rain-maker", or the "lord of rain".
My thoughts on the topic of What devil fruit the Gorosei were talking about in the latest chapter are potentially being black beards. I came to this conclusion, because the awakening could have been the cause of the void century or played a important roll in it. Hence the name void as the darkness from the fruit could be seen as a void sucking in things also the one who last spoke to them was Shanks and the topic if I recall was about blackbeard or i may be wrong and that was an assumption from watching other people discussing this topic. Hoping you see this and address this in a upcoming video. Big fan of you Tekking. Those are just my thoughts. This is my first time commenting on one of your videos by the way. If im late to the theory party, please be nice.
Tbh I think Robin wouldn't bring up the void century info to the straw hats until either the group absolutely needs it, or she finds the final one. She seems like the type to not volunteer information others might find irrelevant until she needs to.
I think that oda could do something with how the script is symmetrical where if they're in the right order they actually read across and give more information. Or the same when it's read up and down.
I think the Poneglyph at Ohara was a Ryo Poneglyph ( possibly the first ) and explained the existence of the Ancient and that it was destroyed , other wise how would've the archeologists at Ohara know about it's existence and it's name . Maybe it went something like this : "(Ancient Kingdom name ) was once a kindgdom so powerful amd prosperous that it's reach spanned the entire world , where every race coexisted together in harmony . But there were other kingoms that were jealous of it's prosperity , and 20 of these kingdoms banded together , calling themselves The World Goverment and declared war agaisnt -The Ancient Kindom- , ultimately destroying it ..." and then it starts listing the beginning of the timeline if events
I think all ponegliphs keep a record of the history from year X all the way to the void century (included), so, if the ancient kingdom existed before the VC, it could be mentiones regardless. We know Alubarna palace is 4000 years old, so at leats Alabasta had some power that far back.
I always kind of thought of the poneglyph symbols as QR codes. a single QR code can stand for a page or more of text, so if you chain enough together you can get an entire book.
@@MonographicSingleheaded if you think of QR codes as an advanced form of kanji it would only take time to learn to notice what the difference from a dot or series of dots being in certain spots means. I mean a human had to teach a machine how to read one in our world. and the Scholars of Ohara spent an untold amounts of time to learn to read the poneglyphs. and i'm not saying they ARE QR codes just that they work in a similar way
The Rio Poneglyphs could also be written on all 4 sides, possibly all sides even, maybe.. I feel like that would help distinguish them between the others, just like how the Road Poneglyphs are red, distinguishing them from the rest as well. It would be able to fit more information on all 4 sides of each, which there are 9, so that’s 36 sides of script to read from. That would be a good bit then at that point. Also, probably the easiest explanation, with all sides carved with script, it simply could have been written in smaller script to fit more on a single side each. I think they are likely all on Laugh tale.
If Tekking would be in the One Piece World, every pirate crew would try to get him to explain all the things in the OP world to them- how this works and stuff....
I could see Straw Hats reaching Laugh Tale, finding the Rio Poneglyphs, and Robin narrating the Void Century flahback arc. But knowing Luffy, he'll probably fall asleep in the middle of the story.
I don't think you mentioned it in the video, but this does line up with what Rayleigh said about Robin possibly coming to a different conclusion than they did.
Well I'm sure the Roger Pirates would have loved to participate in the final war but Roger didn't have enough time & he stated they were too early. Poseidon wasn't born yet. Joyboy didn't arrive yet.
Rio also means “river” in a few languages… Maybe they all “flow” the same, towards the oceans? The ocean maybe being truth? Or the other poneglyphs? That together are a sea of truth I guess?
You know what I kinda want? An intermission in the Void Century flashback where Robin asks someone to wake a napping Luffy up because they're getting to a part he'd probably want to know.
Río also means River in Spanish, and the famous image of poneglyphs connected to each other as a "road" or "river" to the truth has always resonated strongly with me.
Tekking, the whole back-and-forth with "bring it all in one place to deCIPHER it" is already your answer. Whatever poneglyph is on laugh tale is the Cipher needed to understand all of them. That solves the issue of "the story is broken up into multiple ones, but you need all of them" and "these poneglyphs are just kinda boring, hm".
Tekking got all the Korok seeds in BotW? All of them? Respect! And yeah, I want a thorough explanation from Robin on the poneglyphs and what they all say. A final data book from Oda with translations would be awesome 👌
Maybe not a code, but you can only read them if placed next to each other. Based on Roger's message we can infer the writing system is left to right, top to bottom, same us ours (but different to Japanese, which is top to bottom, right to left). Let's imagine Rio Poneglyph 1 first line says: "I am Joyboy, appointed with" but second line says "but everything changed when". It would be impossible to make sense of it "I am Joyboy, appointed with but everything changed when". But then, RP2 first line says "leaving a registry of what happened in the" and its second line "the fire nation attacked.", RP3 first line "world before then greatest of wars", RP4 "broke, destroying what we had", and so on, making the first line "I am Joyboy, appointed with leaving a registry of what happened in the world before then greatest of wars broke, destroying what we had..." I do believe all 9 Rio Poneglyphs are in Raftel, though
IMPORTANT. EVERYONE. search the term 'Di' in Chinese philosophy and follow the rabbit hole until you finish learning about Taoism and the bagua. Fairly certain the d clan are not incarnations but avatars of a greater (not necessarily sentient) power, ancient Indian epic style. Edit: I found these things trying to translate the poneglyphs by comparing to real world logographic/hyroglyphic script. Real world poneglyph text is called 'oracle bone script' if anyone is interestsd.
Do u think maybe the Library at O’Hara had texts/books that helped the scholars learn to read and decipher the Poneglyphs? Otherwise, how did Robin learn to do that?
The world government couldn't have destroyed every single manuscript and book from 100+ years of history, like how in Shandora there's the ancient language inscribed in the ruins I bet they found something that showed them how
Maybe they learned to read them like how people read dead langues in our world, like with Sumarian which the epic of Gilgamesh is written in, you find the modern equivalent that stemmed from that original language and you can trace it backwards to find the meaning of each symbol, if you haven't look up how Chinese developed over time
I think that Robin has at least encountered 3 rio poneglyps. The one at Ohara, Alabasta and Skypia. I think that it's possible that there was a mistranslation/assumption by the Oharan archeologists, because both professor Clover and the Gorosei speak of ancient weapons. As this was the most tragic event of Robin's life it's quite logical she would assume that there are ancient weapons out there. But it's more likely that the weapons are actually tools crafed for a specific purpose. And laugh tale she will probably figure out that the ancient weapons was a WG propaganda term. I also like to believe that she actually did read parts of the Alabasta Ponyglyph to Crocodile just not the parts he wanted. And that the history of Alabasta is closely connected to Pluton. We know that the Nefertari family are considered Tenryubito but that they did not join with the others. Instead they remained in Alabasta hiding a ponyglyph. Robin reads 4 pieces of information that happen within 100 years timespan, the establishment of the country, the rise of a powerful dynasty, the construction of a temple and the emergence of a hero. So it's possible that for example that the dynasty took over joined the WG, gave them Pluton but ultimatly were overthrown during a civil war by the hero. Who regretted the actions of the dynasty and choose to side with the remnants of the D clan.
Robin could've encountered more. She used to leave or betray organizations before Crocodile. She could have encountered copies of poneglyph writing or other poneglyph
I think even the scholars from Ohara already read some of those 9 Rio poneglyphs. It is said that the Rio poneglyphs contain the lost history. That means the existence of the ancient kingdom that were defeated by the coalition of 20 nations *are recorded in the Rio poneglyphs* Professor Clover knew that when he talked to Spandam's father
my personal theory is that to safeguard the rio poneglyphs, they were written in a special way. all the other poneglyphs are written as self-contained notes, but the rio are written such that each line spans across all 9 poneglyphs and if you didn't have the full set, you wouldn't be able to piece together a coherent mesage, it would just be gibberish. it could even be the that the first word of every line is on the first poneglyph, rhe second word of every sentence on the second poneglyph, etc.
''Return The Slabs'' is from courage the cowardly dog if i remember correctly that episode scared me for life i stil get chils just hearing that and that was when i was like 5
I imagine the Rio Poneglyphs, if they aren't all on Laugh Tale, might be on the islands that the Road Poneglyphs point to, and that's sort of a meta-reward for decoding the Road Poneglyphs. It could also be that you need to rotate the etchings around 90 or 180 degrees and read it multiple times and each facing orientation contains slightly different information.
The island that those 4 pointed to is Laughtale.
@@FHK_88 Each Road Poneglyph points to a single island, it's at the intersection of those 4 points that Laugh Tale lies. The Oharans had to have found at least 1 of them, so that they could discover the name of the Ancient Kingdom that got them shot, and probably more than just 1, but I'm not sure how many.
man, i'm not sure whether it's a good thing or not. but i genuinely thought to myself "purple is a good mystery color" in the moment before tekking said it himself.
Rio means river in portuguese, there are some references to Portugal in the One Piece story as it was a relevant nation during the discovery and exploration era.
it's probably a situation where 9 cubed poneglyphs create a 3 x 3 page that makes sense when put together. hence why it can't be read properly, she's getting lines of "of the when high low - " broken sentences
I feel like the Rio Poneglyhs are more summarized versions of the worlds history but maybe when they get to Raftel there’s are hundreds detailing all of history from then to as accurate as possible
I remember you saying in a livestream that the reason you did not make a video on rio poneglyph was because liam from grandline review had already made one so you skipped
Now, Tekking + Robin and the poneglyphs in the thumbnail? This is what I want to see! Ps: Robin never mentions that much about what is written in the poneglyphs. We still don't know where pluton is. We don't know how she came to know that there was a third Ancient Weapon (uranus). We don't know what the Ohara poneglyph said (but I do think that was, indeed a Rio Poneglyph). And she can take notes and transcribe in Ancient Script, since she's literally the only one that knows the code.
I imagined they were indestructible because they were imbued with really strong haki, at least since oden appeared it seemed to be proof of it? Like the kouzuki clan has always had this quality for them and it's why they were the ones creating the poneglyphs

Skypia poneglyph is filler only. Just forget about that one
No it isn’t??

I'm happy Tekking and I are in sync with colors. The moment he asked what color was a good mystery color, my immediate response was purple.
Yooo same
Purple symbolises the spiritual.
I think poneglyphs are made from stone cut from the Red Line. That would be my guess. And only Kozuki clan could manipulate it.
I would say maybe just the road poneglyphs, we don't know the inside through I positive it red all the way through
It`s like you can read my mind Tekking! I was wondering lately about the PONEGLYPH`s in One Piece and you make a video about it!
I have a thirty minute walk to work starting now. Perfect thing to open up UA-cam too 🧡
If the void century was highly technological (which there's alot of evidence to suggest it was), they're lucky the road poneglyphs didn't say
12 degrees north 15 minutes west by 34 degrees south 20 minutes east
Imagine finally finding them all and translating them and they're GPS coordinates in a world that doesn't have a concept of latitude and longitude
It also has connection to the ancient indus valley civilisation like there language was never deciphered and they were known to be advanced.
I'm sure they do have a concept of latitude and longitude since that system goes back as far as the 3rd century BC in our world.
It'd kinda be worthless too given the Poneglyths are possible to move.
Unless they denote a general landmass or geographic feature to start with.
The thing is, with paradise and new world compass doesn't work.
So there is no north south west or east in grand line.
Working with constellations also needs compass and sextant which won't work in grandline
Log pose just points an island to the next.
So...
Hey Tekking this is an idea for Law week.
Hear me out, Law as a lawyer or involved law enforcement and how effective Law would be as a lawyer
It bothers me how many ppl probably didn't get the courage the cowardly dog reference
"RIO" is derived from latin and means "river", from a western perspective. Seems interesting as it would imply both navigation and a flow that leads to a destination.
Tbh I thought it was a mistranslation for “real”. The sound similar and the kanji for truth is kinda like the word real. I like your info though
A flow chart sounds pretty funny a things considered.
The true power of the Poneglyphs is if you stack them into of eachother you can play an intense game of Jenga
It's impossible to play Jenga with cubes.
@@JamesDavy2009 take two of them glue of together now you got a rectangle
@@kirbythingys You'll need 3:1 cuboids.
Tekking, please. You're releasing too much. I can't shower that long or often.
I'm glad we both came up with purple as a mystery color.
The tangent that you went on about how the rio ponglyphs are written in order to plot a course is actually very important information.
Ain’t watched a tekking vid in like year or two and still feel right back at home Brodie don’t miss 🅿️🤧🤧
Hey, How about a video on the different Tailed Beasts or Jinchuuriki in Naruto?
I appreciate that Tekking was on sync with me announcing that purple is the best mistery colour.
Void Century information is at Laugh Tale. The name of the Ancient Kingdom can definitely be on the Rio stones but the full history is in Laugh Tale.
I think that oda could do something with how the script is symmetrical where if they're in the right order they actually read across and give more information. Or the same when it's read up and down.
I love tha courage refference “return the slab” 😂
Just woke up, and damn tek, you did it again. Keep up the good work
I think the Poneglyph at Ohara was a Ryo Poneglyph ( possibly the first ) and explained the existence of the Ancient and that it was destroyed , other wise how would've the archeologists at Ohara know about it's existence and it's name . Maybe it went something like this :
"(Ancient Kingdom name ) was once a kindgdom so powerful amd prosperous that it's reach spanned the entire world , where every race coexisted together in harmony .
Nice Courage the Cowardly dog refrence.
King Ramses "Return the Slab, or suffer my Curse"
Luffy "I don't give a believe in curses"
Can’t wait to see robin react to the 3 poneglyphs brook got from whole cake and the ones they find in wano
Tekking that “return the slab” episode from Courage the Cowardly Dog freaked me out the most
The studio keeps getting better and better
But then, RP2 first line says "leaving a registry of what happened in the" and its second line "the fire nation attacked.", RP3 first line "world before then greatest of wars", RP4 "broke, destroying what we had", and so on, making the first line "I am Joyboy, appointed with leaving a registry of what happened in the world before then greatest of wars broke, destroying what we had..."
I do believe all 9 Rio Poneglyphs are in Raftel, though
That Courage the Cowardly Dog reference was legendary.
IMPORTANT. EVERYONE. search the term 'Di' in Chinese philosophy and follow the rabbit hole until you finish learning about Taoism and the bagua.
Purple... You took the word right out of my mouff.
The Rio Poneglyphs lead you to a secret Duran Duran concert
You were talking… I was thinking Al Bhed Primer Volumes… you mentioned it and FFX… I felt complete. Amazing.

Lord Enel
That microphone flex im so proud of you papi tekking
Also, "Rio" in portuguese means "river", its probably not it but yeah, its a thing... Maybe something related to the saying "the river of time"
Do u think maybe the Library at O’Hara had texts/books that helped the scholars learn to read and decipher the Poneglyphs?
That means the existence of the ancient kingdom that were defeated by the coalition of 20 nations *are recorded in the Rio poneglyphs*
Professor Clover knew that when he talked to Spandam's father
love the tower of babel idea.
I was going to say purple is a good mystery color too
I can't wait for your War Elephant video, even if it's not Anime related
my personal theory is that to safeguard the rio poneglyphs, they were written in a special way.
all the other poneglyphs are written as self-contained notes, but the rio are written such that each line spans across all 9 poneglyphs and if you didn't have the full set, you wouldn't be able to piece together a coherent mesage, it would just be gibberish.
it could even be the that the first word of every line is on the first poneglyph, rhe second word of every sentence on the second poneglyph, etc.
Tekking: Guys whats a mysterious color?
Hollowen: Am I a joke to you?
''Return The Slabs'' is from courage the cowardly dog if i remember correctly
that episode scared me for life i stil get chils just hearing that and that was when i was like 5
I imagine the Rio Poneglyphs, if they aren't all on Laugh Tale, might be on the islands that the Road Poneglyphs point to, and that's sort of a meta-reward for decoding the Road Poneglyphs. It could also be that you need to rotate the etchings around 90 or 180 degrees and read it multiple times and each facing orientation contains slightly different information.
The island that those 4 pointed to is Laughtale.
I think even the scholars from Ohara already read some of those 9 Rio poneglyphs.

When the world unites and brings all their poneglyphs together it creates a bridge to the moon and beyond
Hey Tekking I think you're right about them being in Kanji and code and be almost like a puzzle

Rio also means river in portugues and Spanish. So due robin attack names it might mean something
Agreed!
I'd be interested in Tekking making a video about One Piece's language. For how fragmented the world is, everyone seems to speak the same language.
man, i'm not sure whether it's a good thing or not. but i genuinely thought to myself "purple is a good mystery color" in the moment before tekking said it himself.
Rio means river in portuguese, there are some references to Portugal in the One Piece story as it was a relevant nation during the discovery and exploration era.
Rio means "River" in Portuguese. Portugal also played a big role in the family name of Ace.
it's probably a situation where 9 cubed poneglyphs create a 3 x 3 page that makes sense when put together. hence why it can't be read properly, she's getting lines of "of the when high low - " broken sentences
I feel like the Rio Poneglyhs are more summarized versions of the worlds history but maybe when they get to Raftel there’s are hundreds detailing all of history from then to as accurate as possible
0:00 Purple *IS* a good color, but your setup isn't *set up* for it. It just looks like a lighter shade of blue in the recording.
If you wanna do purple on camera, add more red value. Make it closer to magenta since the blue shows up more, it should become purple
I imagined they were indestructible because they were imbued with really strong haki, at least since oden appeared it seemed to be proof of it? Like the kouzuki clan has always had this quality for them and it's why they were the ones creating the poneglyphs
