ON THE ROOF w/ photojournalist Brian Hamill author of best seller Dream Lovers John and Yoko in NYC

Here is an interview I did with photojournalist Brian Hamill. Brian is a consummate gentleman who shares so many interesting stories about himself and his illustrious career photographing some of the biggest names of the times. Brian goes into detail about the time he spent shooting John Lennon & Yoko Ono that was captured beautifully in his book, Dream Lovers, recently released in 2020. We also go into his meeting and shooting so many of the most prominent fighters of their particular times including Sonny Liston .. Sugar Ray Robinson .. Floyd Patterson .. Roberto Duran .. Mike Tyson and the one and only Muhammad Ali.
Brian hails from a family of journalists that includes writer Denis Hamill and their brother and mentor, the legend, Pete Hamill.
We filmed this interview in Rhinebeck NY at the Betsy Jacaruso Gallery. Brian is a straight shooter .. with NO pretense. It was a joy to listen to him share his stories (and there are countless more) in such an easy and forthright manner. To me, it's times like this, with people like this, that remind me how both proud and grateful I am to be a New Yorker !!
