You should of tried more brands instead of just limiting yourself to 2. Might be surprised that there are bows equal to or better than anything that says Mathews or Hoyt on the limbs.
I’m currently shooting a v3 after selling a hoyt rx. I feel that the Mathew’s are heavy but they are easier to be accurate because of it. Both are Amazing companies and are all overpriced just like the rest of them. They all have hit a plateau so we are paying for gimmicky upgrades at this point. I used to buy a new bow every year but guns are a smarter investment as bows have severe diminishing returns like a vehicle.
350g arrow is a real light arrow man. If you have penetration issues, get a heavier arrow. I’m not sure how lightening your arrow increases accuracy but your arrow spine may have been off. Good luck this season!
Love my v3x 33 from last year. I looked at the VTM and just didn’t fall in love with it. Don’t think you can go wrong with any flagship bow these days.
I like a longer ATA bow. 2013 Specs = 35" ATA, 340 fps, 6.25" brace height, 4.5 lbs weight. 2023 Specs = 34" ATA, 340 fps, 6.25" brace height, 4.6 lbs weight. Same brand 10 years later! I honestly feel my older bow is made much better than the current model. Buying a new bow would feel like a down grade. Archery is a lot of marketing hype. Any compound bow (doesn't even matter which brand) made in the last 20 years will do the job if you do your part. Spec-wise there's nothing special about today's bows. My current 10 year bow is rock solid, stays in tune, has an excellent backwall, has a nice draw cycle, quiet at the shot & accurate. Good bows have been around for a long time now. If you don't own one, by all means buy one! I equate the term "upgrade" with "waste of money" , but that's me. I've learned to be content with what I have a long time ago. I thank Mathews for that, too. I shot the same 1996 Mathews for 17 seasons. Mathews tried to convince the archery world that something was better each & every one of those seasons. It's really quite silly when you think about it. My 57 year old little brother has bought three compound bows since age 12. First one was a Browning that had a wood riser that snapped in half. His 2nd Xi compound was stolen from his car. He used the insurance money to buy his Hoyt about 20+ years ago. He harvests nice deer just like the rest of us. I get some people like shopping for bows. I like hunting with them better.
At 70 lbs, your prbly needing to step up to a 300 spine arrow, depending on length. Should definitely check a spine chart from your the manufacturer of arrow you plan on going with. Your overall point weight can also affect your spine.
Definitely should have bought the Hoyt 😊
Mathews makes a better bow.
Only correct answer is if it makes you happy then yes. Its only money

I think he meant to say 350 spine. That would make more sense
Anytime you want to keep a bow pass the hype of it go with Mathew’s because the Hoyt factory does not supply old bow party’s.
should of waited... with the new mathews coming next month the phaze 4 is going to have problems i a few years so better sell it fast
I’m with the majority. Should have went with the VTM. I know it is personal preference but who wants to spend $300+ on stabilizers ?
You can put any stabilizer you want on the phase 4.

I sold my rx7 ultra and got the phase 4 33. Definitely made a good choice.
So I have two Hoyt’s a 30” RX7 88lb hunting rig then a RX7 ultra 70 lbs for 3D love those bows

The price of bows are like trucks ....... outrageous for what you are getting.
Good gear always costs a lot. you get what you pay for.
I'm shooting a 72 lb Mathews and using 250 spine Easton axes. 400 is WAY underspined.

70 28:29 with 100g point is 350 spine always has been
Don't let the underspined or 350 gr comments. At 70lbs you have plenty of energy. I've killed many bull elk with 350 gr setups at 70 lbs
U should have got a Hoyt! Good luck tryin to hunt with a 350g arrow ! 😂
He meant 350 spine. His arrows coming in at 417 gr.
@@Lavonshirk oh, same as mine 415
I had a Mathews drenalin blow apart for no reason..I hate Matthews
Dang! That’s the only bow they ever made that I wanted at one time
@@reddawng43x91 the dxt was nice to
I am pretty sure you were talking spines when you said arrow weights...
Thanks for bringing that up....yes I was
