Ummmm Safety wise, man your risking your hand with just 10 min works. Whoever whatch this do not follow his way. Dissemble the sheave and work them manually is SAFER than losing an arm
Thanks for the optional method, but I have two main concerns. The first, as others have mentioned, is the very real risk of being permanently (ie for the rest of your life) maimed, and that's just not worth the risk to me (I've got a finger that still bears the consequence of pushing the envelope with a table saw!). The second is my understanding that deglazing is most effective when done with a cross-hatch pattern, meaning the belt will then be sliding across the grain of the surface sanding rather than in the same direction of the grain. This method you have would result in the belt sliding with the grain. Thanks for posting though... it gives options and gives everyone an opportunity to provide input on the option, which hopefully helps us all.
@@brandonlarson5275 Lol.....I like my hands and fingers....I clean my clutch with scotch pad also..but engine is off. Not enough beer to make me try it your way.😂
The rotating assembly is just too scary. Lose your balance and get a digit caught in the arms of the primary and it’s a significant issue. I never thought the fingers could actually get caught in a motorcycle sprocket from cleaning until a forum member posted his hand with every digit missing the top bones. That image alone fuels me to do things properly. With rotating parts the physics gets to a point of mangling you in milliseconds.
Good idea! I’m using some bbq tongs to hold the block though. Made me nervous watching your hand in there.
Lol I should send him a picture of my finger tips Christmas Day when I got a bit to close to a skidoo clutch doing this maneuver.
Ummmm

Nice, I painted my RZR green too. Thanks for demonstrating an inexpensive way to resurface the clutch!
I heard one of those sponges for the dishes works well too
"shaking hands with danger"
Nice way to take ur hand off
Thats why I am using that hand, I am missing 3 fingers on the other hand.

Well I might attempt this wish me luck
Did it produce any sound - this sliping of clucth?
Pull your secondary off for more room and more even pressure
That doesn't meet the minimum effort I desire. Lol

What causes a primary to be loud?

Fuckin a man
