- Breeding snakes: each snake breeding season I have to decide what animals to breed in order to get the offspring that is desired. It might sound easy, but there is a lot to consider. In this weeks show I'll take you through the thought process I use for breeding.
SnakeBytesTV is a weekly series featuring all kinds of snakes, reptiles and other extreme or dangerous animals. Sometimes we get attacked or suffer painful snake bites, but mostly we answer your questions and provide you with exciting and interesting information. ive got to say i love your show so much i actually got my first ball python 3 days ago and i love him, only been bit once by him, i would love to do the stuff you guys do for a living it seems amazing.

Wow.You ad your crew really seem to love working where you do.I have so much respect for everything you do.I hope that I will be able to work at a place like BHB one day and love it as much as you guys do.Hopefully I will see you at the Arlington Tx NARBC this February.And for Kel's question, I say that the zombie snake tried to attack him, and Chewy swooped in and rescued him.But in the process, George was punched in the face.Haha.Great video!

my 2 favorites has to be the Crystal and Killer Clown ball pythons,,, super awesome snakes!!!

Killer Clowns are awesome. I cant wait for those expensive collecters morphs to become more popular cause they are awesome.
You should post some hatching videos where you show us the new snakes that are hatched, it'd be sweet to see the new morphs just out of the egg!

I think you should try mint extract I think from the overwhelming smell they wouldn't bite anything with that on it

As I have asked before without any response, how do you know which snake is the dominant or recessive genetic morph? Is it similar to mammals where the female is the dominant genetic structure or is it a hit and miss as to which will snake will be the dominant or recessive genetic makeup when breeding?

hey great video...its good to see how someone with a bigger collection decides how to pair up their animals. i can only imagine how much different it is for someone with thousands of snake as oppose to someone with 6 like me. (can't wait to see what i produced). i'm looking to expand my collection some so this will come in handy in the future.

Hey guys, another great video! I think that George was dressed as Dorothy and a group of human traffickers tried to steal her but she fought back and that is exactly what happened lol
I Think George was skipping around in his "Dorthy" outfit and went down the wrong ally, and some of the guys reacted and got George. Great video love hognose snakes! How can I learn about the genetics & the types of ball pythons? I terrible when it comes to stuff like that.

interesting with that vanilla stuff, but what would happen if the rat smells like the person that handles the snake often? they might get used to that and dont see it as food anymore. it might be hard to test though.

Id I remember right George got into an auto accident, I learned this from the Top Ten video when Brian posted about it in a comment.
Can you check if the sankes are more aggressive to Chewy-sented-rats?
@mordororc13 you can breed two scaleless together but if you dont have one i know u have to use a bloodred, so i hope i helped some lol

Great content and breeding information and overall awesome video !!! Wow !!! Amazed that the snakes struck the feeders seems the strong vanilla scent would turn off the snake as far as being attracted to the feeder. My Carpet won't touch a rat that's wet I have to use a blow hair dryer and fluff his rats before he will eat them. Goes to show you they are all different.

when I tried villana extract they did not eat at all when I just put a live eat in they ate right away

Would you be able to breed a black rat snake(or any other rat snake) and a corn snake? Im pretty sure some corns are called red rat snakes, if im not mistaken? They seem very similar. Also would you be able to breed a king snake and a corn or rat together?

can you outbreed snakes like take a cornsnake and breed it to a ball python to make a cornball you should try it!!
for the myth? I know you guys use listerine to get snakes to let go but does it deter biting?

Hey SnakeBytes, i am still confused about something. Why is it that, the expert level snakes, and the really expensive ones, why is it that they are so rare? What is it that is so amazing about them? I mean i look at them....and they dont look any more impressive then some of the first ones you showed.

brian, quick question. I have a pair of het pieds. I want to breed them this year or next. When I get a my pied, I want to get another morph probably something het pied. Should I wait for a female pied or male? Also I can only have 2 snakes at a time. Rules rules rules you know how that is lol

@cjlilc35 pretty much. Mine all slow down during winter. They will skip a meal or two but i always offer the mouse. Its up to them weather or not they want it :)

i think that what really happened George was that everyone was pickin on him like usual and that he was fired up and trying to get back to everyone and was running round the shop and Chewy opened up a drawer "EYE LEVEL" and BAM!!!!! he hit the drawer and that was it,,, lol :)
I remember a comment being posted by Brian that George actually was in a car accident. So as much as Kel may want to beat up George it was a car accident.
I'm thinking maybe George laughed a little too loudly when Chewie punked out after getting bit..again.
Brian, it seems that most snakes, that bite Chevy are colubrids. Is this true?

hey brian! i have a 2 year old cornsnake. rescently whenever i pick it up it does a poo and a wee >< and it makes me scared to pick it up even more :( is there any way to avoid this?

I think George was in the shop, on his way to get a drink of water, when all of a sudden he noticed it was quite... too quite. He turns around just in time to see 47 ninja's jump out from behind the racks. He knew they were sent there by a rival breeder. He new he had to protect the buisness, so he took all 47 of them on! What no one knew was that he was a master of kungfu, and so he only got one good hit to the face before they were all neutralized!

i think that george was in a minor car accident and hit his face off the steering wheel.
and about the scenting thing, maybe it would work better on a snake that was a picky eater anyway? and some snakes wont eat rats unless they smell like chicks/mice/gerbils etc. so maybe something like a picky ball python or colubrid might be a better test then carpet pythons?
