😁👍 crazy! Rusted bearings are a bad thing...this is why I always tell everyone coat all the metal parts with grease gears rods everything! and also the bearings and the inside of them that rides on the rod going through it plus the rod going through also or axles because they can rust on like yours did and you can't get the buggers off!!!
Use marine grease on you axels and gear box. It will push out the water and keep it from rusting. You should be able to get a lifetime supply at any auto parts store.
great video kevin, having no maintenance done to that axle and bringing it back to life with just new bearings is a pretty good show of this truck being tough for all the abuse you do to it!
Your videos are amazing and super fun to watch, but heres some advice from a real mechanic. MAKE SURE YOUR WORKSPACE IS CLEAN. While you were rebuilding that differential from your trx4 all the dirt and rust you cleaned out pretty much when back in it cuz your ands were covered in grease and touching the dirt on the towel and you even had an O-ring sitting in the middle of it lol. that was just super sloppy and if you ever want things to last a long time make sure they're perfectly clean when you put them back together lol. Other then that your videos are super entertaining and keep up the great work.
Hey kev things seize all the time mainly gearboxes but there is one way to prevent it. You need to take the diff apart every time you've been out in the thick mud and even if you haven't been in the mud say for like a month that month you need to check your diff so it doesn't seize. So that was just a tip so you don't have to replace things all the time.
You guys crack me up love your channel been trying to get me a arrma karton Trying to save up but I’m a single parent and I have to take care of my little girl by myself so money is tight But I’m going to get one sooner or later keep up the good work
Yay got something on the bus ride home! Hey kev you should get a Arrma Senton 3s! Its great! And 299 bucks so alot cheaper than the slash should compare the 2!!
@@_joe._.9210 yup in definetly ordering one unless someone can change my mind but i doubt it it would be the brawl of the century!! Unless armma comes out with xmaxx competition but that would be risky since traxxas is so sue happy
Yep dirt gets in everywhere try cutting nitro fuel line to the length of the axe to fit the tube and add silicone sealant around the fuel line when it dries the shaft will spin in the tube as it will be held by the silicone. On my 5th scale FID and Kraken solid axles I have used motorbike valve stem seals. Have you used the Arma chassis end pieces for the skid plates to protect the billet chassis, almost to pretty to use, I felt the same every time I fitted a new chassis to all of mine apart from the FID Dragon Hammer the chassis has stood upto more abuse than all my others. Give me a shout when you need a new HPI Baja Chassis I have a couple laying around.
Kev - a thought and a couple of questions. I know you love monster trucks. Have you seen the Trigger King R/C monster truck’s? They do some impressive freestyle on that channel - similar to the bashing videos that you do but with smaller ramps. Seems like you would enjoy one of their trucks. Next, I know you have not tried Redcat. I highly recommend their monster truck, the Ground Pounder. With a metal chassis, four wheel steering, and a reasonably low center of gravity I’ve been amazed at how quickly mine can change direction and how well I can control it. You will need to add power and stiffen/improve the axles,. Finally, I am in the US and have followed Monster Jam since 1987, back when Bigfoot vs Grave Digger was the contest to see. My first hobby grade RC was /is a Tamiya Lunchbox. Here is my thought. Rather than show up with another american truck that we”ve all seen before (as much as Inlike a chevy C10) have you considered using a Land Rover body, on your monster truck, like Andy the Landy,? That would really differentiate you on the Monster Jam circuit. That or a mini cooper body shell. Since you would be unique as a driver from the UK it looks like something you could market and merchandise. Thanks for keeping up your channel and keep having fun.
Hello, Great channel. I’ve never seen you do archery but I’ve always had an idea of building an RC moving target. Any interest? It would make a cool video to see guys like Cameron Hanes and Joe Rogan shooting their arrows at an RC Turkey Target doing 20mph. I always thought 3D targets actually moving in 3 dimensional space would be the future of advanced archery and firearm training. Or like a Rumba type target? Anyway, thanks for the entertainment and inspiration.
use a lath and make teflon bushes wich have some play on the inner diameter and just fit on the outside diameter. This way the o-ring( or maby 2) cant move anymore.Suucces garanted
Kevin I have become a big fan over the last couple months. Thanks for all the hard work and educating this newbie to bashing and crawling. Where did you get the long screwdriver bits I see you using with your dewalt? Thanks again
I would really love to see the bits u cut out of takin stuff apart and putting I back together it would be very instructional for us who aren't worked on Rc cars before.
Yo Kev Love the wrenching vids BTW for the metal parts if you really want to get off rust soak them in PB blaster just DON'T use it on plastic it van make the metal parts good as new, it is also penetrates so it loosens up seized parts
That's it I'm going to bed! I've been waiting for hours for this to go 4k so come back later if the quality is poo. Night guys hope you enjoy!
Night kev

I never thought about greasing the axles on my TRX-4 but after seeing your video I plan on doing it too. Good idea.

Lol I love how you rub you're new bearings and o rings in greasy rust crumbs before you install them.😂😂😂

Diego Mendoza even though I’m a bit of a traxxas fanboy I think that would be pretty cool because they are both rock solid

Just a tip for ease of work, put antisieze on your bearings. Itll make it much easier to put them on n off

That's a good idea with the little bushing in the axle tube.
I love shop days!!!
Thanks for the build vids!
Great vid as always! Love seeing the carnage aftermath ahahah
Shop time is great along with bashing in the woods, and montages of the same.
What kind of grease do u put on the outside of the diffa

I see Kev uploaded I click like before starting the video, you sir are taking over the entire rc youtube section
Lol!!! Nose don't look like a nose!!!
Great video and nice to see some wrenching. I’m learning how to fix my old Savage, so this helps motivate me. Love Pat’s Vlog! 😂
You guys remind of Kevin and Perry from the movie Kevin and Perry go large hahah
I wish that traxxas made that 2 speed shifter metal not plastic I’ve gone through 2 so far
😂 Just give it to Pat! 😂
It's cool to see some shop time, enjoyed the video thanks for sharing.
The locked up axels could be why those servos died because it was fighting against the locked diff
Great vid kev, cant get enough of your channel!!
Love your vids Kev. Great to watch over a cup of char.
Dam i love this channal man keep up THE good work
I like the shop time vids much more than the cheap rc reviews
13:41 "I hope a real monster truck isnt as hard to work on" its gonna be easier for sure lmao
nah its harder
Do you still run the Floureon batteries in your X-Maxx?
Thanks kev! Thanks pat!
Hey Kev I got a question I just hot the trx and I haven't seen a more sorry steering servo. What would u recommend me.
1:36, are the drag brakes on?
tank on rc car channel, ok I want see this in action
I love how kev doesn’t even say anything about the Trx 4’s body that looks like he blasted it with a flamethrower
It's a top gear reference body
@@dianetmotors yeah I know i remember that car. They literally put it on a building and then the building just collapsed and it survived somehow.
You have a great work ethic and do great videos
Great video kevin love it 👍👍🤘
Yalls phone ring is like our emergency sound over hear in the states, it’s so crazy!!😂😂

I have a question: how do i fix a stripped screw hole???
Thanks for the help
Damn dude you should have cleaned those trx4 difs alot better but I do dig your vids. Keep em coming
You should buy a ultrasonic cleaner for the small gearbox and diff parts it will clean them up very nicely
You should know by now kev. The shaft ofter requires a few wriggles before it slips in comfortably ready for a good bashing!!
You shold make a crawler go 50mph
I like TURTLES 🐢
you need to get an xo-1;p.s. love the merch, I saw the comment you read that inspired the tee, and I got it.
I watched your all videos in just 3 days then i subscribed really cool 😁😄😎😎😎😚😍
Thank you for making amazing vids 🔥💪
You should buy some of evaporust for those bolts and the diffs completely eats away all the rush and makes bolts and a lot of other things good again
Yes I love the shop vids

I’m baaaaack. Good to be back!! Just got another slash and I’m hoping to drop a max6 esc and need a motor recommendation
Kevin I'm your biggest fan from Wisconsin!!
Hell yea Wisconsin brother!
Kevin I have become a big fan over the last couple months. Thanks for all the hard work and educating this newbie to bashing and crawling. Where did you get the long screwdriver bits I see you using with your dewalt? Thanks again
Marine Grease saves gear lives. I would have used a little marine grease in place of the o ring to keep dirt and water out just from my experience.
what‘s withe the traxxas slash?
Your the best UA-cam
Kev your 1k away from being the most subscribed rc channel in England
I know you don't like it, but can you maybe take the E-Revo 2.0 out for a spin? Thanks you make good videos!!
Use carburetor cleaner to soak parts in, stuff works great 👍🏾
Hey Kevin what is the point of the slipper cluch on eletric rc cars
I love these vids so much!!

What did you put that crawler body through kev man it’s like it was hit by a hammer
what crawler tires do you run
They're TSL Boggers from Proline I believe
I know this is an older video but a small ultrasonic cleaner might be useful for stuff like this in the future.
O boy shop time
