Kev clearly has extra hours in his day. World record speed run, long RC creations, ACTUAL monster truck build/prep/drive, flight tests, boats, and tons of other videos between those. I'm not even sure he's human. 🤖 That's too much!
Yea to be honest tho it's because he makes his living by selling on eBay amd because of his youtube status amd kickback and doesn't work a 9-5 or in my case a 7am-7pm job/day. I barley have enough time for work and my family let alone all my other projects.....😭😭😭 lol
@@1982james111 living a dream to be sure. My dream involves a wife and kids so wouldn't work for me but I would love to live like Kev for a week. As long as I got to come back home after.
@@sofghost6663 yeah kev probably works 16 hrs a day 7 days a week, but he doesn’t think of it as work, I’m his mind it’s just what he wants to do every day. Only the eBay feels like a “job” to him. Huge respect for his accomplishments and work ethic
AWSOME gentleman, keep it up. That car can definitely breach the 200mph mark. You got the power, you need stability. Remember all forces increase exspotntialy exsposetencialy …exponentially (I know-to big of a word for the hobby). 1. You need a strong servo, not a lot of steering needed in a speed quest-but there is a lot of back pressure through the wheels, and configure your servo to steering linkage in the way of giving the most torque to the steering. 2. Toe out your front wheels, that’s right, toe out, trust me here-it’s the one thing I found with all my cars that actually works across the board. 3. Camber, give your wheels (all four) positive camber, at speed the down force will straighten them out causing your tire to lay flat on the ground. 4. A small amount of toe out on you vertical rear wings, 3 degrees, will help keep you in a straight line better/sooner when things start to get sideways. I got a 1/12 on road car with a 28mm x 48mm 4500kv motor on 4s to almost 80mph, a Traxxas 4tec 2.0 to 137mph on 3s, again it’s all about power and STABILITY. I know you can do it YOU GOT THE POWER!!! 👍
THIS!! This is the one I really want to see. Between you and Raz, the chase for the epic top speed run seems like its going to be possible. I can't wait to see the follow up video where you guys run the cars. Good luck to both of you in chasing the all mighty top speed!
Trespass isn't a criminal act, you can happily tell the security guard that you respect his authority but will not be following his requests. Sure he can call the police and when they turn up an hour later, you can be all friendly and take their advice to move on. You don't have to listen to security guards, they can't stop you, they can't touch you or your property. Good luck on finding somewhere Kev. Car looks like a beast :]
Kev just lives the life I want! Just a normal English bloke, but a sick life! Every male on the planet would buy a monster truck if they had the money! Then play with crazy fast RC cars afterwards 😂
It’s just so entertaining to see you absolutely bash your RC cars and do crazy things like try to reach 203 mph or build a bloody monster truck! Also the things like tumble wumble and enough waffle just makes it all the bit better
Look who it is! Mr. Monster Jam himself! Sheeeew It's been a while since you brought this baby out. She's a spicy unit! I can't wait to see her break the world record. If anyone, you can. More Power! Really happy to hear that Kevin! Could just see his face he was absolutely gutted for you. Thanks for the response, have a great weekend, and of course wishing you huge success with the speed run. And Dave, keep that bum of yours in your trousers! :) Cheers Kev!
omg finallyyyy i thought this series was dead! TYSM For bringing back this car kev. Btw i love ur vids and it encouraged me to get a slash. And i learned how to fix it. So ty for teaching me and to encourage me to fix it and rebuild it.
Great video Kev. Here in the UK most not all road workers can't lay and smooth straight road. Plus the other side of the UK the man with the radio says no. Keep trying mate 😎👍
Its not just a mother country problem mate. Here in New Zealand we just had a tyre company run out of stock after replacing 40 tyres in one day due to the exceptional roads here. To many baby graduates that think a couple letters after their name equals a lifetime of actual experience and dictate all these mandates when building the roads...nek minute it blowing apart after the first couple thousand vehicle movements.
We all have. And we would have seen it rocket today if it wasn’t for that clown Dave acting like a 5 year old. Flashing his arse at his age….really?? Boggles my mind.
Hey Kevin it's been a while since we've commented on one of your vids, and it looks like you're doing good. Monster truck is beautiful! Glad to see you're back at getting the record.
OMG, the suspense is almost to much. I have every alarm on my phone turned on. Ha. I so hope one of you gets the world record. Wishing you all the luck and skill in the world. John
I'm no expert on the matter but have you considered integrating a "flight controller" into the car onboard systems. If anything it could probably cut power if the car exceeds yaw, pitch, or roll limits. (Potentially saving you from catastrophic crashes and saving money during development). I would imagine a good flight controller could even help with tracking a straight line autonomously at high speeds.
Unless you're gonna have active aero control surfaces, I think a simple steering gyro would be about as effective. At the speed this will be going, any deviation beyond viable pitch/roll will cause a flip much faster than can be corrected effectively - keep in mind planes are able to continuously adjust all axes of movement, without any interference from the ground. There will also be a gigantic amount of vibration which planes typically don't have to deal with, that will confuse the hell out of accelerometer measurements. You would find yourself needing to do some programming too, because the typical FC firmware is not oriented around cutting power based on pitch/roll etc. If I was doing this I might experiment with moving the CG forward as much as possible for more passive stability, use larger vertical stabilizer (more rearward), and I'm skeptical that 4WD is necessary, or a diff for that matter. I think Kev might be underestimating the effects of airflow at these speeds. I have a RC plane that weighs 2.5kg and lifts off at less than 50km/h. Sure, it has a larger wing, but at 200mph this car would be deflecting a similar amount of air upward, so lack of downforce is not likely to be a concern (if anything maybe the opposite). Any small rough spots or gaps in the body will be causing a not insignificant amount of drag which increases exponentially with speed. The sexy curves of the body between the wheels are also probably not helpful.
Hey Kev. You’ve influenced me into the right mindset, learning, learning, learning and taking ACTION!! Increased EBay sales!! $195 so far this morning. $$$ = More Toys. 🙂

lol learnt that lesson also after a shower of sparks attacked me and smoke came out of the wires, Damned if I can get that smoke back into the wires again tho.
You should build you a test dyno for your rc cars. Make it loadable so it's as close to the street and resistance as possible. You could do tests at home without wrecking.
